Question: Does anyone know what the bits metal hardness rating are? I'm assuming its cheaper quality and the smallest bit tips can break or wear out fast
Answer: The metal of these tools are CRV and chip resistant. You get strength from S2 steel. CRV tools are NOT for heavy duty use. Think of them as jewelers tools for small electronic devices. People who break them are using too much torc (wrestling a rusted bolt off a engine block vs gently nudging a ultra small screw loose without breaking it). S2 is not precise but is tuff, CRV isn't as tuff but doesn't flex (i.e. precise).

Answer: I have only used the 1/4" bit so far. I drilled 4 holes in thru 3/8" flat galvanized steel plate with a 1/2" battery drill. The 1/4" drill bit did just fine for me.
