12 best diamond blade for wet tiles

A diamond blade for wet tiles is a specialized cutting tool designed for use with wet tile saws or other types of power saws. These blades are used in various construction and remodeling projects where precise and clean cuts on tiles are necessary. Here's what you need to know about diamond blades for wet tiles:

1.Material Composition: Diamond blades consist of a steel core and a layer of synthetic diamond crystals on the outer edge. These diamond crystals are extremely hard and can cut through hard materials like ceramic, porcelain, glass, and natural stone tiles.

2. Wet Cutting: Unlike dry cutting blades, diamond blades for wet tiles are specifically designed to be used with water. Water helps to cool down the blade and suppress dust and debris during the cutting process. Wet cutting also prolongs the lifespan of the blade by reducing friction and heat.

3. Types of Wet Tile Blades: There are different types of diamond blades for wet tiles, including continuous rim blades, segmented rim blades, and turbo rim blades. Continuous rim blades provide smooth cuts, segmented rim blades are suitable for faster cutting, and turbo rim blades have a serrated edge for aggressive cutting.

4. Tile Types: Diamond blades for wet tiles are suitable for cutting various types of tiles, such as ceramic, porcelain, marble, granite, and glass tiles. The type of blade you choose depends on the specific tile material you are working with.

5. Blade Size and Arbor Size: These blades come in different sizes to fit various tile saws. The size of the blade is usually specified in inches or millimeters. Additionally, it's important to match the arbor size of the blade with the arbor size of the tile saw to ensure proper fit and secure cutting.

6. Safety Precautions: When using a diamond blade for wet tiles, it's essential to wear appropriate safety gear, including safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection. Follow the manufacturer's instructions and guidelines for safe usage.

7. Maintenance: Proper maintenance, such as cleaning the blade after use and storing it in a dry place, can prolong its lifespan. Regular inspections for signs of wear and tear are also important to ensure the blade remains effective and safe to use.

Remember, using the right diamond blade for the specific type of tile you are cutting and ensuring it is compatible with your tile saw are crucial factors in achieving accurate and clean cuts in your tiling projects.

User questions & answers

Question: Will this fit all saws that require 10" x 5/8"? These are the specs for my ryobi miter saw, but is there some other spec
Answer: I am unsure of the arbor size on your saw, but the blade should fit any circular or miter saw that has a 5/8 inch arbor. I have a rigid tile saw and no problems. They lasted longer than any other blade a tried and were well balanced
Question: Does this blade need to be installed a certain direction
Answer: It has been quite awhile since I installed this blade, but I do not recall any directional markings, as with any continuos rim diamond blades. I installed it label out and it has worked flawlessly since!
Question: Max RPM
Answer: I bought to use on a three horse power wet saw, 3000 to 4000 rpm. It cuts very smoothly.
Question: will this blade work well for cutting agate and other hard stones
Answer: It cuts granite, so it should work for agate. I'm not sure what you mean by "other hard stones." Diamond will cut every stone on earth (including other diamonds). However, this isn't a lapidary blade. For one, it's thicker than most lapidary blades and you will waste a lot of material in the cutting. Second, there aren't as many diamonds on this as on a lapidary blade so the blade won't last nearly as long. What do you want to cut?

User questions & answers

Question: What kind of bond does this blade have
Answer: I'm not sure because I didn't do that, but I drilled through solid stone with no problems at all, so I'm guessing you can.
Question: The question about using this blade to cut glass was not answered. What blade will I need to cut glass
Answer: Mine burn out after two holes in ceramic tile lol
Question: Can this blade be used in the DeWalt saw with the UK voltage? I think I read somewhere the arbor sizes are different. Many thanks
Answer: I would save these bits for drilling porcelain tiles; and you'll need to keep spraying water on the bit to cool it off. If you just want to drill holes in concrete, get standard masonry bits and use a hammer drill. Spend an extra $50 and get a good one. The best bit in the world won't drill concrete with a standard drill. You need a hammer drill.
Question: My saw is 4000 RPM, what is this blade rated to
Answer: A regular drill works great- no hammer drill needed.

User questions & answers

Question: Has anyone used this blade to sharpen carbide tipped combination blades
Answer: What do you mean by bond
Question: can this blade cut metal
Answer: It will work fine for cutting wine bottle and the like (thicker glass). If you feed into the blade slowly you will get a smooth chip free cut. The thinner the glass being cut, the more prone to chipping and cracking it will be.
Question: can I use this to cut agates and other stones
Answer: The blade does not impact the voltage. It is the arbor (the hole in the center) that matters.
Question: How does this do with porcelain tile? I see that they mention "slate and ceramic on the blade itself. All of my work it with porcelain
Answer: The label on the blade says it's good to 6000 RPM. But you wouldn't be able to read the label until you buy the blade and you wouldn't buy it until you knew what it's RPM limit is. Glad to help!

User questions & answers

Question: where is made
Answer: Not sure, You're best bet would be to purchase a concrete cutting saw blade . There are several available on the market. Be sure to purchase a wet cutting saw blade and wear protective gear-goggles, gloves, mask. Concrete dust is toxic and there may be pieces of concrete flying thru the air. Be safe!
Question: how thick is the blade
Answer: I'd try it. It works great on porcelain tile and that's very hard.
Question: Will this work in a regular portable circular saw or must one use a specialized wet saw? Am cutting some travatine tiles
Answer: I used it on a wet tile saw to cut marble backsplash tiles, 1/2 inch thick. Worked great, lasted a long time. Not sure about the dry cutting, might be prone to chipping. Would spray it with water/spray bottle while you are trying to cut it maybe
Question: Will this cut glass tile
Answer: The saw we used turns at least that fast if not faster. We used a hand held angle grinder to cut out tile. Hope this helps.

User questions & answers

Question: Does the 10inch blade include a 5/8th arbor washer? The images only show a 1 and a 7/8th arbor option
Answer: This blade was meant for stone/tile type materials, but if you have a light gauge metal (wire mesh/alum siding) it will probably do in a bind. But I would not recommend it for heavy gauge metals (steel door/iron bars etc; you will need a metal cutting blade instead).
Question: Can it be used to cut wine bottles
Answer: You sure can, granite is no problem and that's about as hard as stone's get. Cuting thick stuff make sure you use it wet, dry cuts on thick stuff will wear it out a lot quicker but it'll last a long time cutting with water.
Question: does this blade come in with a 1 inch arbor
Answer: I have used it with both ceramic and porcelain tile and it worked well with both.

Product description

WHAT KIND OF DIAMOND BLADE DO I NEED?

Selecting the size of the diamond blade is all dependent on what tool you are using, as well as the material you are trying to cut. Every application will vary on the task at hand, as well as the bore size and segment height of the blade.

DECIDE WHICH IS MOST IMPORTANT

The initial price of the tool or the cost per cut. For smaller jobs or occasional use, a low priced tool may be preferable. For larger jobs or regular use, a higher priced tool will actually be less expensive to use because it will deliver the lowest cost per cut.

KNOW THE TYPE AND POWER OF YOUR EQUIPMENT

Will you be using a 5-hp power cutter or a 70-hp flat saw? The answer will dramatically impact blade choice. The diamond blade size, whether you can use a wet or dry blade and the rpms needed to spin the blade all depend on the equipment.

CORRECTLY IDENTIFY WHAT YOU ARE CUTTING

Correctly identifying the material to be cut is the most important factor in choosing a diamond blade. It directly affects the cutting speed and the life of the blade. When you know the material our diamond tool specification sheet help you find the most suitable tool. As a general rule, determine the material which will be cut most often, or the material for which top blade performance is most important.

CHOOSE WET OR DRY CUTTING

Choosing wet or dry may be a matter of user preference or job requirement. Wet cutting is usually preferred because you can cut deeper when using water as a coolant. For tile and masonry saws, either wet or dry cutting blades can be used. For power cutters, dry blades are more popular, but they are often used wet to control dust. Wet blades MUST be used with water. Dry blades may be used either dry or wet, depending on the job and the equipment.

  • Arbor: 7/8"-5/8" bushing, Rim height .395"(10mm). Size is 7"x.070"x.395"/10mm.
  • Hot-pressed sintered blade: Ideal for high speed cutting of hard masonry tile
  • Please use wet cutting to prevent the cutting edge from being damaged and not smooth.
  • Designed for: Ceramic tiles and porcelain.
  • Applicable models: Angle grinder, Circular saw, Hand-held power saw, Masonry saw, Wet cutting.

User questions & answers

Question: Does this blade have a 1" arbor size
Answer: I am using it on a MK660 with 3500 RPM, but I also have a friend using it on a MK 377 exp with 5500 RPM without any problem. Most important is enough with cooling water and that you sharpen the disc now and then. Another interesting disc is also the new BOSCH diamond disc for glass....
Question: Will it cut glass tiles
Answer: 5/8" ARBOR IS STANDARD. wHAT SAW IS IT?
Question: Why did I receive an 7/8" arbor when the description said
Answer: No...using a wet saw - no need to dress blade.
Question: what do you mean by segment dimension? Also, I am using a 1.5 hp saw. Will this blade work with this horse power
Answer: It is depends of the material. I am using it for cutting fused glass 6-8 mm with layers of dichroic glass between, a very tuff material for the blade. We are using the saw twice a week for 3-4 hours nonstop cutting every time and change the blade every 2 month to avoid splitter from the glass. So it means at least 60-80 hours hard work for the blade. We have plenty of other blades, but are always coming back to this. Important is house a sharpening stone for diamond blades regular keep the water in the saw clean and let the saw make the job without pushing.
