User questions & answers
Question: | Will this blade cut 1/2" hdpe well |
Answer: | Absolutely NOT. It's the complete opposite of that kind of blade. The teeth are like mini-razor blades that slightly criss-cross each other. You're looking for the opposite- a blade that has flat, chisel-like scooping teeth. Totally opposite. |
Question: | Will this blade cut a flat bottom dado in wood |
Answer: | I have not tried 1/4 aluminum but have cut plenty of 1/8 aluminum sheet and angle extrusions and I would have no problem using it for 1/4 inch material. This blade works well with aluminum sheets |
Question: | Has anyone used this to cut 1/4" 3003 aluminum plate with success |
Answer: | Look on the amazon site, part way down page on left. If by "1/8 thick" you mean the width of the removed material (called the "kerf") the kerf is 0.094"...so not 1/8"...thinner.By the way, I love the blade for cutting aluminum plate and extrusions (as well as the occasional plastic...and even wood if I am too lazy to change to a wood blade. |
Question: | what is the thickness of the blade? I am looking for one that is 1/8" thick |
Answer: | Thank you so much for your interest in SPEEDYORDERS "Two Way Acrylic Mirror". Yes, you can use "double-sided mirror adhesive tape". Make sure the surface is free from dust, dirt and grease before using the tape. It comes with protective masking which should not be removed until mirror is installed. Thanks for your inquiry. Please contact us directly for more information. We look forward to doing business with you. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Want to use this blade to cut 2" thick brass, Will this worl |
Answer: | This is listed as used on slide saws, though it has a +10 degree kerf. I use this on my slide saw and works fine. Not as good as a forrest chopmaster but a thinner kerf, which is supposed to be easier on your saw. This blade does leave some burn marks mitering hard woods. |
Question: | Looking for an easy, fast, clean means of cutting aluminum window screen frames would this be the best option |
Answer: | With the carbide inserts on each tooth, it will cut aluminum so plastic should be a snap. |
Question: | Can these cut iron , steel , and stainless steel |
Answer: | I would avoid this blade for anything other than wood. I recommend the LU84R011. It's a combination blade that I use on my table saw for a myriad of things and I get super smooth cuts from it without excessive heat and paint transfer. |
Question: | I need to confirm this item is for non ferrous metal..the item pictured is not, it doen't match the description...please confirm. Thank you |
Answer: | Hook Angle is a positive 5-Degrees. Freud designed the LU74R010 Industrial Thin Kerf Crosscut blade as a 80 tooth 10" fine crosscut blade that features 80 alternating top bevel teeth set at a 5 degree positive hook angle, which is a configuration that lends itself to very clean crosscuts in a variety of materials, and is condusive for use in a table saw, radial arm saw, compound miter saw, or sliding compound miter saw. The body uses a laser cut expansion slots for low noise and vibration, and has an "Permashield" non-stick coating said to reduce heat build up. The C4 carbide teeth large enough to withstand many resharpendings. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Are these really made in China |
Answer: | From what I have read, the Diablo series is made in Italy but who knows what really goes on these days? I am happy with the blade and at the price it is a good value. Could they have been made in Italy at one time and then sourced/made in another country later on? I can't say. |
Question: | Why are the vents just printed on |
Answer: | The vents are actually through-cut, then filled with a rubbery material. They really do work. These blades are far quieter than the stock blades that come on most saws. |
Question: | Would you recommend this blade for ripping finished hardwood? I am looking for a good blade for ripping cabinet fillers, etc |
Answer: | It depends on what the cabinets are made out of. If they're solid wood, yes absolutely this blade will do great, it leaves almost sanded smooth edges if your saw is setup right. If its plywood, or particle board, or mdf, I'd use a diablo blade meant for that kind of wood like the freud d1090x 90 tooth blade, that will leave sanded smooth edges on a plywood board, and wont tear up your veneer like the 50 tooth blade might. |
Question: | Would this blade cut a flat bottom dado |
Answer: | No - The better version, if you want to make smooth multiple passes for a dado is the more expensive, Freud LU84R011 which has a flat bottom edge on the first tooth after each gullet. |

User questions & answers
Question: | does this blade remove |
Answer: | I get very little to next to nothing tearout with various species of wood but this is in conjunction with a home made zero clearance insert on my DeWalt DWS780 compound saw. I do a lot of crosscutting and this combination works really well for me. I have pretty much standardized on using Freud blades for my tables saws and track saw etc, the main thing is to find a good sharpening service to keep them performing well. |
Question: | Hole diameter |
Answer: | The official answer to the kerf width for this Diablo D1280x blade is .118”, slightly wider than 3/32. It has a 15 degree forward tooth angle and is a full 12” in diameter. I carefully compared this blade to the Freud Industrial equivalent which is 11 3/4 in diameter, 15 degree tooth angle and a slightly narrower kerf at .094”. |
Question: | Does it cut alluminum |
Answer: | This blade will cut laminate but it is not made for it. |
Question: | is this good for miter angle cuts |
Answer: | YesI use on a slide miter saw as well as a fixed miter boxGood blades been using for years |

User questions & answers
Question: | How many for this price? Homedepot sells them for $29 each, that is why I am asking |
Answer: | That's for a 7 inch blade. The $100plus is for a 12 inch blade. There's only 1 blade, but no place sells it that's size for cheaper. It's great for a chop saw cutting 8.25 in hardie siding |
Question: | Has anyone used this blade in a table saw to rip hardie siding |
Answer: | I bought a10” diablo blade for my table saw but I haven’t used it yet. Sorry I couldn’t help you out. I do love the 7 1/4 “ for my skill saw, Jerry |
Question: | Would this blade work for bamboo laminate flooring |
Answer: | No. This blade was made for cement board siding ( Hardie ). Try Diablo D1216LF |
Question: | will this fit a standard circular saw |
Answer: | Well, "circular saw" usually means a portable saw, like a skill saw. A 12" blade is usually too big for most such. (I do have a Makita portable that takes something like a 16" blade, but those are less common and I wouldn't call it a "standard". This blade is meant for primarily miter saws, or "chop saws". They DO make basically the same blade in a smaller version, 7" or so for "standard portable circular saws. this blade is made for cutting cementitious materials like hardie board. This works pretty well, but I try to use a shear as much as possible to try to minimize airborne dust. |

User questions & answers
Question: | What is the required rotational speed for the 10" steel demon |
Answer: | I've cut 0.125" wall 1.5" steel tubing. Works pretty well but won't last for more than about 15 cuts in this rather strong steel. My band saw is better but I always keep one of these blades on hand for precision cuts. On thinner metal, like butter. |
Question: | So confusing max rpm is 5800 or 1800 ? why I saw it in my local homedepot it says 5800 rpm on its package |
Answer: | That is the limit of its abilities. The key is to set your saw depth deep, so each tooth is in contact with the steel very briefly. If you set the blade shallow, as if you were cutting 1/4" plywood, you will overheat the teeth and be lucky to cut 12" before the blade is destroyed. |
Question: | I want to ask if this blade will work with evolution mitre saw |
Answer: | Lol....I operate On or Off...I prefer the full ON position to get the job done and move on!! |
Question: | Was gonna try this on my hitachi compound miter saw. It is 5,000 rpm has anyone used this blade running at this rate |
Answer: | 12 Pt., SAE Wrenches: 3/8", 7/16", 1/2", 9/16", 5/8", 11/16", 3/4", 13/16", 7/8", 15/16", 1", 1-1/16", 1-1/8", 1-1/4" |

User questions & answers
Question: | This blade is used to cut aluminum |
Answer: | This blade is for cutting wood |
Question: | I have 8 1/4" blade now. Can I use 8 1/2" blade to replace it |
Answer: | If you're running an 8 1/4" blade in your 8 1/2" saw, yes... If the saw itself is less than 8 1/2", then positively not! |
Question: | why is there a dimond knock out around the arbor hole |
Answer: | Some saw arbors use a diamond-shape to prevent blade slippage on the arbor. However, most saws I have seen use the 5/8" circular arbor. The knockout is there so you can use the blade on a saw that has the diamond-shaped arbor. |
Question: | What is the hook on this 8 1/2" blade? Thanks |
Answer: | Hook angle is 7 degrees. |
