Answer: | I am not sure what 20MM is- but on most saws if your arbor is not 5/8" the diamond shaped " knock out" around the the 5/8 hole will come out and fit a matching diamond shape raised portion on your saw to lock in the blade. Not sure if that makes sense- if you had a picture of your saw, it could help. |

User questions & answers
Question: | I just want to one blade for my compound bevel miter saw would you recommend this? Thanks |
Answer: | I have no complaints with the D12100x. I’m a trim carpenter and impressed with the blade. I’ve always had either 60 or 80 tooth blades and as long as they were sharp, I really couldn’t tell the difference in cuts. |
Question: | Will this cut exotic wood tha tis 4" that is at the top of the Janka scale? Or would it be better to buy a higher tooth count? Thanks |
Answer: | I can’t answer about this specific blade, but I have a Forrest table saw blade and it’s really worth the extra money. I use the Freud on my chop saw and am very happy with the performance. I probably wouldn’t go with Forrest for my chop saw unless the price was very close. |
Question: | Is this American made |
Answer: | The hook angle is 7 degrees. I wanted to know the correct answer and found it from manufacturer's product page: http://www.diablotools.com/products/product/D12100X |
Question: | how thin is the actual cut kerf |
Answer: | It is the standard 1/8" thickness. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Are these really made in China |
Answer: | From what I have read, the Diablo series is made in Italy but who knows what really goes on these days? I am happy with the blade and at the price it is a good value. Could they have been made in Italy at one time and then sourced/made in another country later on? I can't say. |
Question: | Why are the vents just printed on |
Answer: | The vents are actually through-cut, then filled with a rubbery material. They really do work. These blades are far quieter than the stock blades that come on most saws. |
Question: | Would you recommend this blade for ripping finished hardwood? I am looking for a good blade for ripping cabinet fillers, etc |
Answer: | It depends on what the cabinets are made out of. If they're solid wood, yes absolutely this blade will do great, it leaves almost sanded smooth edges if your saw is setup right. If its plywood, or particle board, or mdf, I'd use a diablo blade meant for that kind of wood like the freud d1090x 90 tooth blade, that will leave sanded smooth edges on a plywood board, and wont tear up your veneer like the 50 tooth blade might. |
Question: | Would this blade cut a flat bottom dado |
Answer: | No - The better version, if you want to make smooth multiple passes for a dado is the more expensive, Freud LU84R011 which has a flat bottom edge on the first tooth after each gullet. |

Product description
This blade gives new life to underpowered table saws and radial arm saws because the thin kerf does not require much horsepower. The Perma-SHIELD™ coating helps this blade pull 1/3 less on the saw, which translates into over 33% more cutting power. The ideal working range is from 3/4" to 2-3/4" thick. 9" Blade Diameter, 5/8" Arbor, 22 ATB Teeth, ATB Grind, .094" Kerf (K), 20° Hook Angle, .071" Plate (P) Ideal For: Heavy-Duty Ripping Blades For Underpowered Saws. Depth of cut (3/4" to 2-3/4"). Application: Ripping. Made In Italy.
The 9-inch Freud LU87R009 Thin Kerf Rip Saw Blade makes quick work of ripping operations in hard- and softwood. It features 22 flat, oversized teeth with thick TiCo high-density carbide tips designed to last, in addition to Freud's Perma-SHIELD coating, which reduces friction to prevent heat buildup. Plus, since it's a thin-kerf blade, it wastes less material and continues to cut cleanly when used with underpowered saws.
Large-Tooth, Thin-Kerf Blade Ideal for Low-Horsepower SawsThis rip saw blade is ideally suited to ripping hard-and softwoods, and it also delivers strong results when crosscutting wood or working with plywood. Ideal for working with materials that are 3/4 to 2-3/4 inches thick, the blade can also handle thinner or thicker materials, and it can be used to cut chipboard or laminates. However, some loss of surface finish may occur when it is used outside its ideal range. It has a 5/8-inch arbor and produces a 0.094 kerf.
In addition to offering faster cuts through tough materials, its large tooth design allows the blade to be safely sharpened more times, prolonging the life of the blade and saving you money. Plus, the large gullets between these teeth ensure easy chip removal.
Well-Balanced, Anti-Vibration Design
This Freud blade is pretensioned for truer cuts under heavy loads. It also features an anti-vibration design that reduces chatter for a cleaner finish, longer blade life, and reduced noise while you work. And because the blade is laser cut from high-strength steel, you can trust that it will stay stable, flat, and true, even after prolonged use.
High-Density Carbide for Maximum Cutting Performance
This thin-kerf rip saw blade's 22 teeth are finished with tips made from an application-specific TiCo high-density carbide "ripping blend" that offers improved density, hardness, corrosion resistance, and heat resistance.
Ideal for the demands of ripping large quantities of thick, hard wood, this carbide blend includes extra cobalt for increased impact resistance. Plus it delivers increased sharpness and edge retention, which means the blade will hold up longer--saving you money.
Perma-SHIELD Coating Reduces Friction and Heat Buildup
Built to withstand tough use in less-than-ideal conditions, this blade is finished with Freud's red Perma-SHIELD--a non-stick coating that reduces friction and nearly eliminates the heat buildup that excess friction can cause. By providing complete thermal insulation, this coating protects your tools and your work surface. And it resists binding when the blade is used for large-volume cutting applications, which reduces blade warp.
As a lubricating feature, Perma-SHIELD allows the blade to spin freely while reducing stress on the motor and carriage of your saw. In addition, this coating helps prevent debris collection and resin or "pitch" buildup. Since gummy pitch buildup causes extra drag on the motor of your saw, less buildup is another little convenience that translates into longer tool life and longer blade life. It also means less downtime for blade cleaning, so you get jobs done faster.
This industrial saw blade is backed by Freud's limited lifetime warranty.

User questions & answers
Question: | How much difference between this blade and 1024x besides 10 bucks and ftg/atb |
Answer: | I was using the blade to cut 3/8" 6061-T6 aluminum plate, and had no problems. Whether you can cut thin parts without bending will likely depend upon how well those parts are supported and the feed rate. Given the relatively-low cost of the blade, it would seem worth trying. |
Question: | Is this blade compatible with a splinter guard that was registered using the standard 2.2 mm kerf blade that came with my TS55 REQ |
Answer: | No, I didn’t try that and I seriously doubt if it would be successful. If I was you I’d try to find an old fashioned very fine (many many toothed steel blade. They used to call them a plywood blade sometimes. And to prevent the blade from grabbing because vinyl siding is very thin, run the blade backwards, yes turn it around so it’s spinning backwards and feed slowly and it will cut very nicely and will not grab or snatch and smash the plastic and most importantly, you will be safe. I’ve done this and I know it works. Even if you can only find an 8” or 9” very fine steel blade, that would still be ok because vinyl siding isn’t thick like a 2 X4, it’s less than 1” thick. A carbide blade has teeth that are too large, even this 80 tooth blade and the thin plastic will fit right between them and be dangerous, smashing through the material. What you want is a circular blade with teeth that aren’t much bigger than a hacksaw blade. |
Question: | What's the difference with other same products |
Answer: | I cut mainly hardwoods, but being carbide tipped I would not hesitate to use it on plastics. I love their blades and will buy them again. |
Question: | What does FTG mean? Does this blade give a flat bottom cut? Thanks |
Answer: | Not for me. Get 80 tooth of more |
