User questions & answers

Question: What is the flatness of this blade
Answer: I don’t have an indicator to check flatness, but I measured the width of a cut with digital calipers at 0.126”.
Question: Can this blade be resharpened when it gets dull
Answer: I have this blade and it works great! I haven't had the need to get the blade resharpened . But yes you can. But they might charge $25 to $35 give and take? It probably be better to just buy a new one. Hope this helps.
Question: Is this blade 1/8” thick? I don’t want a thin kerf blade
Answer: Yes. .126(1/8”) thick. Thin kerf blades are typically .093(3/32) thick. This is go to general purpose blade.
Question: Does this blade have a flat tooth
Answer: Yes, it has a flat tooth. It doesn't leave a perfectly flat cut. When nibbling away for a half lap joint for example, the surface is rough, but better than my stack dado. It is however an amazing blade for both ripping cuts and cross cuts.

User questions & answers

Question: Is this blade good for cutting dados
Answer: This blade is not a Dado blade. It will cut a dado an 1/8” wide, or bigger with multiple passes, but it is not adjustable in its cutting width.
Question: Is there a reason to get the 60 tooth cmt blade instead of this one? any other differences between the two
Answer: This is a combination blade that works well for both crosscutting and ripping. The only 60-tooth CMT blades I see are crosscutting blades. If you will only use the blade for crosscutting, the 60-tooth blade might give you a slightly smoother cut. However, that same blade would be a bad choice for ripping. So it depends on how you plan to use the blade. I've been very pleased with this combination blade for both crosscutting and ripping. It works well in pine, in hardwoods, and on plywood.
Question: Where is the blade manufactured
Answer: Definitely made in Italy. CMT makes quality saw blades and router bits, not outsourced garbage manufactured in China.
Question: Is this a 3 pack as described in the photo
Answer: I bought mine in 2016; at that time it was only one blade. I see that the current ad says it's a 3 pack, that's definitely a good price for 3 blades.

Question: Does this blade leave a flat-bottomed kerf on non-through cuts
Answer: Yes, it has a flat top grind that will leave a flat bottomed kerf on either through or non through cuts
Question: Does the blade cause blowout doing non-through cuts? I'm using a box joint jig on my table saw and I'm not able to put a sacrifice piece behind
Answer: Depends on material and feed rate. In hardwoods no but in plywood cutting cross grain it may a little bit. I prefer the cmt glue joint rip blade. It cuts a little cleaner but this blade is good.

User questions & answers

Question: How flexible is the disc could I use it on a diy flat lap grinder setup
Answer: No, the disk is definitely not flexible at all. Very flat. It does have a 5/8" hole in the center for mounting to a motor. I don't see why it can't be used for that purpose.
Question: What is the guaranteed flatness/runout/accuracy of this disk? Looking for one that's designed specifically for accuracy
Answer: The one I received was flat/true. Used a dial indicator mounted in mitre slot on saw table to check runout and setup rebuilt saw.
Question: Can a hook and loop disc be used to attached sanding discs for changing grit
Answer: Don't know. I used self-adhesive paper, put 80 on one side and 120 on the other. Works fine.
Question: does the disk have a bevel on one side or are both sides flat
Answer: Both sides flat

  • Cove cutter mounts easily on a tablesaw
  • Used in conjunction with a pair of angled fences
  • Changing fence angle and cutter height allows an almost infinite variety of cove shapes and sizes
  • Finished surface requires very little sanding

User questions & answers

Question: Does it work on the dwe 7480 dewalt table saw? This saw doesn't accept dadoes so I'm wondering if this blade will fit
Answer: the cove cutter is thick, but only 1/4 - 3/8" or so at the arbor hole. It should fit your saw ok.
Question: What is the width of the cove
Answer: straight on it's about 1/2". However, cutting coves of most any practical width requires an angled fence. Do a "You Tube" search on cove cutting with table saw and a number of videos will be available. I believe there is a specific one using this cutter ( Lonnie Bird cove cutter). Additionally this pdf from CMT explains what I'm talking about http://www.cmtutensili.com/media/Files/389_creating_molding_with_cmt_s_crown_molding_set.pdf .Be aware. This is a nicely weighted unit. The weight helps keep the cuts smooth. Don't expect to use this successfully on a $99 home center saw. They just don't have the power to maintain speed and you will wind up with ragged cuts at best and a damaged saw at worst. Use a good 3-4 HP job site saw (Dewalt, Bosch, Rigid...) or a belt driven contractors or cabinet saw. Finally, use thin passes and you should be quite pleased. It will still require some sanding but nothing like a normal saw blade. There are also some sites on the internet with calculators to help you with the angle selection. Hope this helps.

User questions & answers

Question: are the teeth flat ground and do you have the 30mm bore instead of
Answer: The teeth are ATB (Alternate top bevel) with FTG (flat top grind). It only comes as 5/8" bore.
Question: difference P
Answer: The P10050 is a thin kerf blade and the 215-050-10 is a full kerf blade
Question: How has your blade held up
Answer: Hi Jodie, The blades are ok, but IMO you are really better off buying Diablo blades from Home Depot or Lowes as the quality of this blade is on par with those. I am disappointed with the blades because the Carbide tips are not very substantial, which really makes this a disposable blade. A better blade, such as Freud, is designed to be sharpened. They are a higher quality carbide so your return on investment is better over the long run, though you will have the added task of getting the blades sharpened. Hope this helps.
Question: I need to make a lot of cuts on mdf and hdf hollow core doors, I need a good finish, this kind of blade can help me
Answer: This is a great blade. Sure, more teeth leave a smoother cut but for MDF, it also means much more dust. Make sure your saw fence and the blade are well aligned and you will get nice smooth cuts with this blade.
