12 best hitachi roofing nailers
Hitachi, now known as Metabo HPT (Hitachi Power Tools), is a reputable manufacturer of power tools, including roofing nailers. Roofing nailers are specialized pneumatic tools designed for fastening shingles, roofing materials, and underlayment to roof structures. Here's what we can share about Hitachi roofing nailers based on my last knowledge update:
Types of Roofing Nailers: Hitachi offers a range of roofing nailers, including coil roofing nailers and pneumatic roofing nailers.Coil roofing nailers typically use coil-style nails, while pneumatic roofing nailers use strip-style nails.
Durable Construction: Hitachi roofing nailers are known for their robust construction. They are typically made from high-quality materials to withstand the rigors of roofing work.
Magazine Capacity: The magazine capacity of Hitachi roofing nailers can vary, but they are designed to hold a significant number of nails, reducing the need for frequent reloading.
Adjustable Depth of Drive: These nailers often feature an adjustable depth of drive, allowing you to control the nail depth and achieve a consistent and flush finish on your roofing materials.
Sequential and Bump Firing: Hitachi roofing nailers typically offer both sequential and bump firing modes. Sequential firing requires each trigger pull for a single nail, while bump firing allows for rapid nail placement with continuous trigger pulls.
Air Pressure Adjustment: You can typically adjust the air pressure to match the specific roofing material and the depth of penetration required. This flexibility is crucial for achieving the best results and preventing damage to the roof.
Ergonomic Design: Hitachi roofing nailers are often designed with ergonomics in mind, featuring comfortable grips and lightweight designs to reduce user fatigue during extended use.
Jam Clearing Mechanism: These nailers are equipped with a quick and easy jam-clearing mechanism, minimizing downtime caused by nail jams.
Compatibility: Hitachi roofing nailers are designed to work with a variety of roofing nails and are compatible with nails of different lengths and diameters, providing versatility for different roofing projects.
Warranty: Like many power tool manufacturers, Hitachi typically offers warranties on their roofing nailers to cover defects in materials and workmanship. The warranty terms can vary depending on the model and region.
Remember that the specific features and models available may have changed since my last knowledge update in 2023. When considering the purchase of a Hitachi roofing nailer, it's essential to review the latest product specifications and read user reviews to ensure that the tool meets your specific roofing needs.

User questions & answers
Question: | I have one of this roofing guns that is miss fireing anyone know why |
Answer: | I think someone has miss spelled this. I think it is orbital pattern. I can say as a body shop owner for 30 years this is a good sander. |
Question: | Will this entire kit rebuild my metabo nv45ab2? i nelive they are exactly the same but im no expert |
Answer: | It works just like an auto body sander |
Question: | I had order somthing on saturday whas my order finished |
Answer: | Thank you for your inquiry. Our sanders will not overheat due to dust because of AirVantage's patented cooling design. The motor is sealed inside the housing. In addition, the control board has a sensor that would slow down the sander, when detecting a motor overloading, thus prevent it from overheating. HOWEVER, the sander can still overheat when using improperly, such as press hard down onto the tool during sanding (the sanding performance is not based on how hard one press down onto the tool, but the grit of the paper). On the other hand, please note that the tool comes with a 1 Year-Warranty, just send AlphegaZ a message, and we will be more than happy to assist in resolving your issue. Hope that answers your question, thanks! |

User questions & answers
Question: | how does this gun do for shooting 1 3/4" nails reroofing over shingles |
Answer: | Very well. I was impressed with its performance for 1 1/4" as well as 1 3/4"! Don't forget to oil! |
Question: | Made in |
Answer: | the one's that I got was made in Taiwan. if you can find one's made in Japan, that will be great. but again. it may be just the luck of the draw. |
Question: | Will this nailer do Hardie Siding |
Answer: | Yes it will work well for that. Hardie siding can be installed with this as manufacturers installation only requires 1" penetration into the stud. If nailing into sheathing then longer nails won't matter. This nails up to 1 3/4".Please refer to pages 11 and 12 of their best practice guide where this model is specifically mentioned as recommended for Hardieplank. See the link below, page 11 and 12.http://www.jameshardie.com/pdf/best-practices/hz/hz5-best-practice-guide-us-intro-tools.pdfThanks,ADP |
Question: | I just bought one of these and it will leak if the trigger is held down halfway. If you depress it all the way it stops. Is this normal |
Answer: | has to be normal, i bought one of there AV50AP2 and it did it from when new, thought there was a problem but been like that for years, my NV45AB2 does it too. |
Product description
Many power tools are not designed with protection and consequently spend their lives getting bumped around on the job site. Hitachi's coil roofing nailer is an exception. This nailer has two metal plates, or what Hitachi calls Steel Body Wear Protectors, at the back and front of the machine that act as bumpers to protect the tool's condition and extend its life--which makes sense, when you think of the beating a roofing nailer is subjected to. No question about it, Hitachi's NV45AB is a good gun. We like the way the nailer fires, the guide plate that helps keep nails flush, and how the rubber safety valve in the nosepiece keeps debris out. The grip's great: it's wrapped around the handle and made of a porous rubber that really sticks to your hand so you don't have to worry that sweating will take a toll on comfort or productivity. And of all the nailers we've looked at, this one's definitely in the running for most handsome, with a nice silver finish. But don't buy it for how it looks; this nailer's solid feel and action are reason enough. --Michael Shilling

User questions & answers
Question: | Will this coil nailer shoot nails with a 3/8" head |
Answer: | Yes, the RN46-1 will shoot roofing nails with a 3/8" head...I think all standard roofing nails have a 3/8" head so any of them from 3/4" to 1 3/4" length should work fine... kd |
Question: | can this gun be used to nail hardie siding |
Answer: | I wouldn't. This gun can only shoot up to 1 3/4" roofing nails. If it were me, I'd get a siding gun and shoot some longer ring shank nails |
Question: | Is this new gun |
Answer: | Yes |
Question: | Does it come with any type of warranty besides the one that is being offered |
Answer: | I would check with the seller you plan to purchase from. It varies, depending on the seller. Some may offer 30-day warranties and others may only pass along manufacturer's warranty information. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does this come with a carrying case |
Answer: | No, sorry. |
Question: | What is the recommended coiled nail brand to use for no jam-ups |
Answer: | Though it’s true, not all coil nails are created the same, as long as they keep there form (don’t get crushed in you pouch or stuff thrown on top of the coil nail box in your truck) you should be more or less fine. The gun you use also makes a difference. I’ve had good success with Max, also bostich. They seem to jam far less and are somewhat easier to unjam than other brands I’ve used, like my dads ridged and porter cable. But remember no gun and no nail brand, even if both Top tier, will be completely jam free. |
Question: | What is the difference between this model and the CN445R model |
Answer: | MAX SuperRoofer is in its third generation - the latest tool is the MAX CN445R3. The CN445R and CN445R2 are older tools. dh |
Question: | Does it work for siding |
Answer: | Most siding guns accommodate a 2 1/4” nail. This gun will hold 3/4”-1 3/4” inch nail. Most hardie type siding requires 1 1/2” in stud so it would work for that type of siding. As far as vinyl it will nail flush and not leave the expansion gap required |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does this nailer come with a belt hook |
Answer: | Hi there! For most polishing on the GET75-6N Sander, the RSM6044 extra soft backing pad will give the best results. For further assistance, contact us at 1-877-BOSCH99 (1-877-267-2499) from Mon-Fri 7A-7P CST. |
Question: | Is Hitachi warranty good if purchased from this seller |
Answer: | Like most products there are likely components manufactured from around the world. Are you asking where it was assembled? |
Question: | Can this nailer be used installing sofit and facia 1/4" 4d headed nails |
Answer: | The sanding paper/pad you use would determine what material you can sand - so yes |
Question: | Will I receive a Hitachi or Matibo gun |
Answer: | The bottom of this has a lot of holes to fit various pads, one of the BEST qualities about it, it gives you lots of options for sanding disc types. Even though a 5-hole may not line up perfectly, you would still get dust collection out of it because most of the holes will be functional. It comes with a special bosch pad that has a hole pattern designed specifically for this sander. ANY regular 8 hole, 5inch sanding disc will fit this and give you the dust collection functionality perfectly. The same would hold true for the 6inch model - an 8 hole disc as well. You can probably use Festool discs and those "Net" or "Mesh" discs that are there (which, by the way, work really well on this sander because it has a whole bunch of smaller holes too) |
