Answer:	I bought a new one today from a lumberyard and it is a Type 1. (says right on the sticker on the motor) Not sure if that means the slide mechanism is better or worse than the Type 20. I would assume it was made in 2014 because there is a "Dewalt use only" tag on the box which starts with 2014. Not sure if a "fresher" saw is a Type 20

They have videos on their website that show how to install the parts on DW716, DWS779, and DWS782 saws. You will need some additional tools (torx screw drivers or torx bits, wire strippers/cutter/crimper) and somewhat mechanically inclined. Just google "DWS779 xps light kit" and they should be the top result. This might be an easier option versus going to a DeWalt service center in the post pandemic world.

Answer:	It does not come with any laser for guidance. You may find my answer a bit crude, I've been using miter saws for many years and the best guiding system I found to work is my/your eyes. Having lasers or no lasers you still need to use your eyes to get the work piece spot on near the cutoff point. Hope this helps!
Question:	Does it cut an accurate 45*? Will the blade lock in place at 45*? I build picture frames and if the cuts r off at all the corners won't align right
Answer:	You can add the LED light to this saw. Not a laser but a shadow light that show exactly where the saw blade will cut. I just did it last night. Parts can be had for about $70. This basically turns it into a model 780 which is much more expensive. Pretty simple to add.

Answer:	The UK version (Bosch GCM 12 GDL Professional) ships with an included non battery powered laser that produces two lines that bracket the saw kerf. Not sure why Bosch made the laser layout tool an extra for USA version. There are other differences between these models and the UK 240V version has more options as stardard equipment.

Answer:	Yes, it has a depth stop. The saw cuts very nice and it glides effortlessly, u must adjust the drag on it. When cutting dadoes, it does not hang up like rail type saws when the fine dust finds its way into the rail bearings like the Dewalt I used to use. It was an expensive investment in a saw, but i really like it so much more then any of my previous sliding compound saws.

Answer:	SGT .several reasons i chose this saw over the 5312. first off I run a high end custom cabinet shop and this saw sees very heavy uses. The sliding rails on the type of the Bosh 5312 always get dust in the bearings and with time the sliding action sticks and must be taken apart, the bearings cleaned and re-lubed with dry silicone lubricant. That is what my experience was with my last 3 sliding saws, (Dewalt, Ryobe and Dewalt pro). the other thing i love about the Bosch GCM12SD its there are no rails sticking out the back of the saw, and the clearance from the wall where my saw sits is no longer needed. It was a great investment even though its on the pricy side. i love the accuracy and the performance, I change to a better cutting blade and the performance got better. I switch from the stock blade and now run a Forrest CM12806115 Chopmaster 12 inch 80 tooth blade cleaner cuts and very smother with no tear outs. i hope this helps you

Answer:	The base of the saw is 26"x16" (wide by deep) and therefore would hangover - would not recommend. Also, the base is not solid, only three inches on each end are are solid where the base rests. Finally the saw itself is approximately 32" deep. Again, I think it would be unstable to put on a 24" cart.

The Bosch CM10GD 10-inch Dual-Bevel Glide miter saw provides power and versatility. Thanks to the compact design and the innovative Axial-Glide System, this unit provides smooth cutting control in up to 10 inches less workspace than other miter saws, so users are able to work productively in hallways and other tight quarters. The saw delivers 4,800 no load rpm with outstanding cut capacity – 12-inch horizontal capacity (nominal), 5-1/2-inch vertical capacity against the fence (base), and a 6-inch crown capacity against the fence (45 degree spring).

Axial-Glide System

The innovative Bosch Axial-Glide System gives the user durable precision in a compact workspace. Replacing the sliding rail system with a hinged or articulated glide arm system saves up to 10 inches of working room while giving the user enhanced alignment and a smooth glide for the life of the unit. As a result, users produce smooth cuts and have complete control over the saw's cutting motion.

Flexibility and Ease of Use

The all-metal bevel lock lever and range selector was designed to be upfront on this unit, to enable fast and easy bevel settings without reaching around behind the saw. The tall 4-1/4-inch sliding fences also support quick bevel set-ups, professional level precision and increased crown molding capacity.

Lock and Chop

For the utmost in chop cutting capacity for a 10-inch miter saw, the Bosch CM10GD has a crown/chop lock that locks the head in place. This enables users to power through upright base molding and nested crown molding. The adjustable miter detents with easy-read markings let you accurately set cuts up to 47 degrees left or right. The common angles have miter detents at 0, 15, 22.5, 31.6 and 45 degrees on the right and left, and 60 degrees on the right.

Dust in the Bag

Like other Bosch models, this saw includes a combination dust chute and vacuum adapter to hook up your 1-14-inch and 35mm hoses. The "click and clean" platform ensures that the vac hose remains in place, so users can concentrate on making the cut.
