Answer:	Yes, if you buy the Canon mount lens. It is a really good lens that is super sharp even at max aperture. It does have some barrel distortion, but so does the Canon 50 mm F1.4 lens for full frame. Canon does not make a standard F1.4 lens for the C chip Rebel line. This lens will even work on my old 35 mm film EOS Elan with no vignetting as long as I don't use the included Sigma shade, which is designed for partial frame Rebel cameras. I bought a really nice petal shaped 62 mm snap-on lens shade made by Vello for full frame cameras on E-Bay. I think the search engine in DE-Bay only finds the ad if you call it a 62 mm snap-on lens shade. If that doesn't work try "lens hood". It is one or the other. If you use the lens & it does not produce sharp pictures in dim light you are not using it in aperture priority set to F1.4. If you select program mode the camera will default to a slow aperture & then you can blur the picture from motion. I made that mistake. Once I switched to aperture priority & selected F1.4 the picture was perfect.

Answer:	The Macro can give some fun perspectives foreground to background. As for if it is an upgrade the aperture difference alone is an upgrade as it will allow you to take more pictures with only available light instead of using flash. I love this lens and the glass is great.

Answer:	Yes. This will fit any EOS with a APS-C crop sensor.So far, I'm in love with this lens. It take real sharp pictures, mostly when stepped down to f4, but at 2.8 it still shines. The OS is a nice feature, but what really stands out in the Macro. Zoomed out to 70mm I can get about 1-2 inches from my subject and the AF snaps into focus quick.

For the obvious, the 17-70 has a more useful FL, while the 17-50 has the constant f/2.8 throughout its range.Physically, the 17-70 takes 72mm filter vs 77mm filters, the weight is lighter by 20% (470g vs 565g) and its a smaller lens which may balance on your APS-C camera better (79mm x 82mm vs 84mm x 92mm). The 17-70 will give you also a psuedo-macro capability at a 1:2.9, which is rather useful.Personally, another point to note (and I've substantiated this myself after coming across it in a few Google blurbs) is that 17mm on the 17-50 is REALLY not 17mm, but 18mm when looked at closely. May not be a deal breaker, but to some it is and the lens really is, in practice, an 18-50 lens. I found the color rendition of the two lenses to be similar (lovely, in fact) and I find the 17-70 to be sharper across the frame at 50mm than the 17-50 is, which is not surprising as that's the farthest reach of the 17-50's FL and it's expected to suffer a tad there. If you haven personally used the new Sigma Contemporary and Art series lenses, I suggest you give them a try. Excellent materials, tight tolerances, well made.I ended up keeping the 17-70f/2.8-4 C and selling the 17-50 f/2.8. I have f/1.8primes to cover the need for low light shooting should it arise, and the extra FL is more important to me

Answer:	The Canon "18-135" IS STM is a OK to Good lens for Video because of the STM. But for Stills it is just OK. There's not a perfect lens out there. I don't buy kit lenses, cause for a little more $$ you get better lenses. BUT, you have to ask yourself, will you change lenses back and forth ? From long zooms/telephoto primes and back to short/medium zooms or primes ? OR, do you like leaving one lens on, or you just don't have a bunch of lenses to switch back & forth. The Sigma starts at 17mm the Canon at 18mm both have barrel distortion, but from 24mm to 70mm, yes the Sigma is better than the Canon, but the Canon has a longer reach to 135mm. DXO Labs has this new Sigma 17-70 Contemporary lens at almost the same numbers/performance as the $1100 Canon 17-55 f/2.8 ! That's how good this lens is. BUT, how well they do on Video Dslr cameras, I don't know ? Hope this helps.

Answer:	These are junk don't but them. They run my sawzall and grinder at 50% speed and no torque. If I touch to metal or wood and apply any pressure they stop. They only work in my screw guns for around the house little projects. I have 8 year old batteries that still run like new compared to these. Don't expect to "work" with them. I asked for my money back and they sent me two more junk ones to make up for it. And won't respond now that I asked for shipping information to give them the 4 batteries back and get a refund. So I'm stuck with 4 turds I can't use

Answer:	Looks like it may but you want to check current battery for the right voltage and 2 or 3 prong plug. I have DSC Impassa and it works for that one but it's slightly bigger. You can pop the front screen of pretty easy to see just flip down cover and use a small screwdriver/knife to pop it off at the bottom.
