User questions & answers

Question: I have a bosch ps21 drill/driver with a 1/4" hex-shank chuck. will the rockwell rw9275 fit my drill and accept both 1/4 hex and round drills
Answer: Yes this has a 1/4 hex shank and I use it at work with round bits and also use it at home with some hex bits. I'm not quite sure but I believe that it will fit up to a 3/8 round bit
Question: Can the hex stem be removed (to use this as a replacement chuck)? If so, how
Answer: Yes, definitely it can be removed. The keyless chuck itself has female 3/8-24 threads. The impact hex shank is screwed into it. As the other answer says there is one REVERSE THREADED screw in the center of the jaws (fully opened) that needs to be removed. Unfortunately the shank also requires a special wrench to remove (unless you want to crank on the hex shank itself). Look closely where the shank connects with the chuck. You'll see the flats that the wrench can grab. But the wrench has to have a super-low profile to fit under the flange of the shank. Something like a 1/8" thick wrench would fit. There must be a tool out there to do this. But I don't :)
Question: Will this work for my Makita impact driver that uses only hex drill bits and adapt to round Bosch bits
Answer: I have a Black and Decker that only uses hex drill bits, and this worked perfect for adapting to any round bit I have thrown at it so far. Ended up needing the round bit to defog my headlights, and this worked perfectly so I didn't have to buy a new drill.
Question: will this work with my dewalt dc825 hammer drill
Answer: I use mine with an impact driver & it works great. I don't know if it would hold up with a hammer drill.

User questions & answers

Question: Technical Details says NICAD. Title says Lithium. Does the vendor have a clue
Answer: If it's refurbished, yhe vendor should know. If new item, it should be as advertised. There is a difference in the method of charging those two batteries.
Question: Where can i buy just the charger for rockwell rk2515k2 drill 12v batteries
Answer: I have not used my Rockwell drills in awhile, however if you check on Amazon for this battery number they should have a charger... that said, the newer 18v drills seem to work better, have more power too. Batteries don't lose their charge after a month of sitting in a bag on the shelf. I am not saying a person should go out and buy the latest and greatest drill on the market, but 12 volt batteries don't have the power. Incidentally, I still use the Rockwell drills in a back up mode, or when I need to have several size drill bit and drivers leave them set up ! Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. Rp
Question: Where can i buy just the charger for rockwell rk2515k2 drill 12v batteries
Answer: Hi! Sorry I can not help.... Just bought the batteries but never had to buy the charger...
Question: When will this be shipping? I ordered under prime and see it hasn't shipped yet. Where is this shipping from, expected to receive today, tomorrow
Answer: I make only a fe purchases and use nothing else offere, so I dropped Prime.
Question: is this Rockwell re-branded? Are the batteries interchangeable
Answer: The best way to know about the rebrand question is to go to the Rockwell Shop Series site and look up the company history. If I remember rightly, they use the Rockwell name but are not the original Rockwell. Maybe its because Rockwell went out of business years ago?? Anyway, rebranded or not, I am happy with my Shop Series cordless 3/8 inch, rechargeable 12 volt drill as it does most jobs I encounter. It's got lots of torque, good grip, lightweight, long lasting battery charge. I got mine at a clearance sale at a reduced price but still would consider the full retail price. If a product works well, the price is soon forgotten. Ron M.
