As for other answer saying to press the charge button, you can change options for 30 seconds and manually press charge, or just wait and it starts by itself (auto-amperage and flooded cell by default) once it detects the battery and you see voltage displayed. |

Not made to fully charge a discharged battery. Point the solar panel southwest to get the most out of the sunlight during daytime. I have used this $9.99 if on sale gadget for years now on my boat and car and has not failed me yet. It comes with all the hook up accessories needed. I have not used the boat for 2.5 years at a time and the gel battery is as good as when I installed it 7 years ago. My car wet cell battery also is as good as when I first installed it and I only use the car abroad every 12 months when I am in town for 3 weeks. Car or Boat batteries Gel or not will not last it's lifetime if it is always discharged and recharged. Maintaining the charge is key to it's longevity. Good luck! No need to blame anybody. | Answer: | That depends on age of your battery and do you charge it before & after your fishing trips. Note: you said battery, does that mean you have one battery for trolling motor? If so why are you asking this question on a 3 bank charger (a 3 bank charger charges 3 batteries at the same time)? If your trolling motor battery is over 3 years old and after you charge it for 3 hrs, let it set for 3 hours and test the voltage of the battery with a good Volt meter. If the volt in the battery is less than 12.5 V, you need a new battery, charging will not make your battery last any longer while fishing. You need a good strong 12V Deep Cycle single charger battery for trolling motors (for sure with one battery). Good luck. |

| Answer: | I have the 5/5/5. When the batteries are low and charging the charger will get very warm. It should not burn your hand but it does need to have good ventilation. When I mounted my I installed stand offs so the unit can get as much air around it as possible. As the directions state, do not mount it directly to carpet or wood. |
