User questions & answers
Question: | Which is the O.D. of this product please |
Answer: | The outside diameter of the hose is 0.9 in. |
Question: | Would this hose work for propane |
Answer: | Definitely not. Not even close. |
Question: | can anyone tell me how to test the pressure at the end of the hose? so i know how much my air tool is getting etc |
Answer: | Best way to test the pressure would be to install a pressure gauge at the end of the air tool and then connect the hose. Run the compressor and use the tool while keeping an eye on the pressure gauge to see how much pressure you are really getting. That will help determine if you are getting adequate pressure. If not, there may be a few things causing that pressure drop (hose too long, clog somewhere in the hose or the compressor not having enough CFM to power all tools) I have attached a link for more information. http://www.tcservice.com/tech/air-press/air-press.html |
Question: | Is there really Lead in this hose |
Answer: | I think you're misunderstanding. The shorter hoses are designated as "Lead-In" hoses, not that there's lead in them. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can this be used on a Seneco PC1010 Compressor |
Answer: | The connections are for 1/4" pneumatic fittings. If the Seneco PC1010 compressor has 1/4" pneumatic fittings for it's outlet, the answer is yes (if not, then no, not without changing to 1/4"). |
Question: | Wil this fit my husky 4 or5 pound compressor |
Answer: | You need to get compressor fittings for it, so just get the kind you need for your compressor. Almost everyone uses the standard fittings though. |
Question: | What is the psi rating? How can they sell an air hose without listing the psi |
Answer: | If you look at the picture, it is printed on the hose. Do not use at pressure greater than 200 PSI. |
Question: | what is the pressure rating for this hose |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can this be used for vacuum |
Answer: | No, it would probably collapse |
Question: | What is the OD |
Answer: | Outside diameter of the hose is .590” |
Question: | Can this be used safely between a 150psi compressor to tank 6 feet away |
Answer: | According to the specs, it should be good for 300 psi. The one I have is only 3 ft long from one compressor tank to another tank. I have used it at 120 psi with no problems. |
Question: | Will the ends of these twist while the hose is held still so that I can screw both ends into fixed devices |
Answer: | Quick disconnect are great when you need them, but every connection is another restriction to getting air where you want it, so use as few as possible. The exception are double-female connectors, which are full ID. If in doubt put your mouth over the end of a connector and try blowing through it. I think you'll be shocked at how fast those restrictions add up, and how much long hoses hurt flow-rate. To screw the both ends of the hose in would only require ONE end to turn, which a swivel connection will do, and so will a HV Milton Type-V quick connect. Always use Milton HV Type-V connectors to get 74 instead of 40 CFPM flow. Many mfgs now support this standard. With a female air-chuck on one end, and a HV male quick connect on the other, plugged into a HV female quick connector on the tank/compressor, this will allow a small 3-10 gallon tank/compressor to fill tires at an amazing rate. User questions & answers
Question: | does the "swivel end" rotate so I can screw it into a fixed device on both ends |
Answer: | One end swivels the others does not |
Question: | Does any one know if this hose (3/8-inch. i.d.) is the type of hose i need to work with a bostitch miiifn floor nailer |
Answer: | It can work with any air tool. I would recommend atleast 25 ft length. You will need the couplings for the ends also. |
Question: | Is the end that does not rotate a male or female thread ? the pictures seem to show it as both |
Answer: | I have the 46347 hose and the swivel end is male while the rigid end is female. The description is very confusing in that sometimes it's mentioned both ends are male, while other spots mentions one male one female. |
Question: | Will the inner diameter of the swivel only serve to bottleneck larger V style fittings? I want to maintain the highflow benefit of V coupler/plugs |
Answer: | The swivel does have a slightly reduced diameter. For best air flow, I would use straight fittings. |

User questions & answers
Question: | The ends are not 1/2 npt |
Answer: | Then what are they? One of two things: 1) wrong hose delivered or 2) you are unclear of the dimensions of a 1/2" NPT fitting. |
Question: | What is the outside Diameter of this hose |
Answer: | .610 or just under 5/8" |
Question: | Can this be used for outdoor water facet size 1/2 female brass ends |
Answer: | NPT means national pipe thread and yes it is used in both air and water. This one is 1/4" not 1/2", so that is your limiting factor for your 1/2" faucet, otherwise they are the same style of threads. Someone earlier stated that it is straight thread, that is not true. NPT is a tapered thread, straight thread is used for nuts and bolts and other random things, but not air and water fittings. |
Question: | Do the threaded connectors spin on the crimped ends |
Answer: | No. They are rigid crimps with no swivel/rotate available. If you plan to use this as a pigtail between a hard pipe and a hose reel as I did, you'll want to add a union in between. For my installation, I used a larger (1/2") quick-disconnect at the pipe end, so I could connect a larger hose directly for a 3/4" impact gun.A different hose reel I bought came with its own pigtail hose, male by female, and the female end would turn. That made installation a lot easier. |

User questions & answers
Question: | What country is this made in |
Answer: | Not absolutely positive but Goodyear is an American company and should have been made in the United States. But I know that's not always the case. I've always found these hoses to be top quality for my construction business. |
Question: | Are both ends male |
Answer: | This Goodyear red rubber air hose has 1/4 inch male threads for connection on both ends. |
Question: | Is the hose very flexible and easy to roll up |
Answer: | No it's not flexible for manual rolling up. Yes if you have a reel but I don't so every time I need to coil it back up it sucks majorly. Is it durable sure but it's not easy to roll it back up! :) |
Question: | I am looking for a hose that will withstand being outdoors (exposure to the sun). Does anyone of experience with this hose resistance to UV exposure |
Answer: | You're really talking about material choice more than a specific product. Avoid PVC hose, avoid so called hybrid hoses that also have PVC. If your hose is stationary, you can choose one of many ways to shield it from UV/sun. If your hose is in motion outdoors you will probably prefer a polyurethane hose for the lighter weight. You can decrease UV damage rate of rubber hoses by coating them in silicone, which helps to seal them from oxygen to reduce the degradation rate, and if moving them around, reduces the abrasion rate, but may tend to increase surface grime buildup. |

User questions & answers
Question: | The picture shows 3 50ft hoses do you get 3 or just 1 50ft hose |
Answer: | Just one hose. I do like this hose better than the ones I had before. It doesn't kink or stay curled up. |
Question: | how do i exchnge for the warranty? i haveone with the black end blown off after purchasing it in August of |
Answer: | Hello, We are sorry to hear the end of your hose has come off. Please contact our warranty department at 800-645-8258 X 121 and we will work with you to process the warranty. Thank you, Team Flexzilla |
Question: | Does this 3/8 50' hose come with brass end fittings |
Answer: | No. The fittings are sold separately. The hose has 3/8 non-metallic fittings to thread into a brass coupler. |
Question: | What is typical way quick-connect plugs and adapters are installed on air hoses? Male on one end, female on the other? Sorry for the newbie question |
Answer: | Typically, for a 3/8 inch air hose, there will be a 1/4" MNPT (male national pipe thread) nipple factory attached to each end of the hose. To add quick disconnects to the hose you will need a Quick Disconnect COUPLER (adapter), size 1/4 inch, with 1/4" FNPT (1/4" female national pipe thread) for the tool end of the hose. For the compressor end of the hose, if your compressor is equipped with a Quick Disconnect Coupler, you will only need a 1/4" size Quick Disconnect NIPPLE with 1/4" FNPT (1/4" female national pipe thread) for attaching to your air hose. If your compressor is not equipped with a Quick Disconnect you can simply attach the compressor end of the hose directly to the discharge port of your air compressor regulator. Depending on the size of the regulator discharge port, adapter bushings may be required to fit the 1/4" MNPT threading of the typical 3/8" air hose. In any case when you buy Quick Disconnect Couplers and Nipples always buy the same type and size. Quick Disconnect fittings are available in many different types and sizes. The INDUSTRIAL EXCHANGE type, and the UNIVERSAL EXCHANGE type are by far the most common types of Quick Disconnects. They are interchangeable with each other as well as with most other common types of Quick Disconnect fittings. I have never seen a portable air compressor factory equipped with a Quick Disconnect Coupler that did not accept both the Industrial Exchange, and the Universal Exchange type of Quick Disconnect Nipple in the 1/4 inch size. In this instance, 1/4 inch size is referring to the nominal size of the quick disconnect fitting, NOT the pipe thread size of the fitting. |
