User questions & answers

Question: Will this work with 9/16 inch bamboo solid flooring
Answer: I ran mine at 90 PSI, driving a 2" cleat into 3/4" oak flooring over 1/2" plywood and 3/4 pine subfloor. I don't know what nails you are using or the material, but I didn't have any trouble getting consistent results just by adjusting the pressure. 110 PSI would have been too high for me, and less than 80 wouldn't drive the cleat all the way.
Question: Will the 5/8”&9/16” plate work on 1/2” engineered flooring
Answer: Yes, 3/4" flooring is actually 25/32", I believe, and there is a base plate for it. Anyway, I installed nominal 3/4" oak flooring and had no problem running at 90psi using the L-cleats. I think they were 2". Just take the time to be sure the nailer is sitting solid and square and you'll be fine. One thing that helps a lot is to put a scrap piece of flooring under the back end of the nailer to help hold it level.
Question: How do you adjust the drive depth adjustment? I have my setting on around 110 PSI and it is sinking to just above the wood groove
Answer: Don't know about that model
Question: Will this nailer work on standard 3/4 " OAK Hardwood
Answer: No they don't.

Answer: This gun comes with two shoes for the different floor thicknesses. No adjustments needed

User questions & answers

Question: Why 4-5 month shipping
Answer: It only is capable of utilizing 1 5/8" cleats, however it may be possible to fit 1 3/4" maximum. I just installed 700 sq. ft of 1/2" Stranded Hardwood Bamboo using 1 5/8" Cleats and had more than sufficient grip length. On a few occasions it was necessary to remove some boards and the cleats could not be extracted I had to use either an abrasive cut-off wheel or a carbide blade in a multi-tool to cut through the nails. It is a high quality tool and I don't hesitate to recommend it. It is very sensitive to air pressure settings and the regulator needs to be adjusted in extremely fine increments. It is however tremendously efficient with air usage and required much less pressure than my 5 other nailers. Because the Bamboo is such a hard and dense material I was unable to get perfect results until I made made some shims for the base plate that rests on the floor. I had some left over Aluminum flashing which I used for the shims because it's thickness is very consistent and easy to work with using common tools (can be done with scissors and a paper punch or drill). Good Luck, I hope this answers your question and is helpful.
Question: Can you use 2" long 18 ga L-cleats in these units
Answer: Mine can be set up for 3/8", 1/2", 5/8" and 3/4". I just installed 700 sq. ft of 1/2" Stranded Hardwood Bamboo using 1 5/8" Cleats. Because the Bamboo is such a hard and dense material I was unable to get perfect results until I made made some shims for the base plate that rests on the floor. Good Luck, I hope this answers your question and is helpful
Question: Will the floor nailer take 2” L cleats
Answer: Yes it comes with two attachments that position the nailer to shoot nails/staples at an angle into the tongue of the flooring
Question: What flooring heights are the included base plates for
Answer: 1/4" crown staples like this: PORTER-CABLE PNS18150 18-Gauge 1/4-Inch. I got a box of 5000 and used about half of them for 600 sq ft of 5" wide engineered hardwood flooring. I used 1 1/4" going into the 5/8" plywood subfloor, and 1" when going over the old oak hardwood (yes, I installed engineered wood on top of old oak, there wasn't much of it and now the floor looks the same everywhere).
