User questions & answers

Question: Does this go up to 250 inch pounds? It says only 200, yet the one in the picture shows
Answer: The case says "200" on the outside. The last increment on the handle is "240".
Question: where is the wrench manufactured
Answer: The one I have says it was manufactured in Taiwan. Nice little tool too. I use it on Bicycles.
Question: what’s with the .8 . numbers
Answer: If you will notice that your inch pounds start up from 20-40. The .4/.8 = is your count in 10ths on the way from 20-30, like (1-10.) After you cross the 10 mark, let’s say 30 , the next thing you notice is 1.2 & 1.6. These are indicative of surpassing 10, like (11-20) and you have moved to 30-40 inch pound range. I’m sure they have reasonable application for Newton meter as well, which I’m not to familiar with 🙏🏻
Question: what is the lowest setting
Answer: It starts at 20in lb to 200in lb.

User questions & answers

Question: Is this really in 1 inch pound increments as described? I see it goes from 1-10, but don't see 9 tick marks indicating 1 inch pound
Answer: No each mark is 2.5 in/lbs. Goes from 0-80 inch/pounds. 4 marks in between each 10 in/lb increment.
Question: Does the packaging indicate where this is made? Thanks
Answer: There's no markings on the box or on the tool stating where the tool is made
Question: what is the accuracy of this
Answer: Usual accuracy for beam types is around 1 to 3%.
Question: Is it true these are the most reliable and accurate type of torque wrench that you never have to calibrate
Answer: A beam type torque wrench will provide consistent readings over the life of the tool provided it is not damaged. The wrench I received is not accurate, torque readings are off by around 10%. There is no way to adjust a beam type wrench to correct for any inaccuracy.

Neiko

Based on 444 reviews Check latest price

Product description

The Precision, User-Friendly, Click Torque Wrench

The Neiko 3/8-inch adjustable torque wrench takes the guessing out of ratcheting applications requiring precise torque levels. It ships pre-calibrated (+/- 4 percent accuracy), accurately measuring torque between 5-80 foot-pound / 6.8-108.5 Nm. Features include a dual-range pressure scale (foot-pounds or Nm), audible 'click' functionality, a unique low torque setting, and a versatile 3/8-inch drive head for sockets.

Simple Torque Leveling and Use

Torque levels are adjusted by aligning the rotating diamond-patterned grip with the desired level of torque indicated on the shaft. The 0-10 gradient etched into the grip allows for micrometer adjustments, and a knob locks the tension in. The 3/8-inch drive head provides compatibility with any 3/8-inch socket, while audible 'click' functionality alerts you when you reach pre-set torque values. The result is no more over-tightening of fasteners or risking of damage to components.

Designed To Last

Drop forged chrome vanadium steel construction ensures that this tool will withstand the rigors of time and the toughest of jobs. Add to this a chrome finish and an ABS storage case to keep away rust and corrosion and you are guaranteed an accurate, clean and shiny tool for years to come.

User questions & answers

Question: Like all torque wrenches, you must set this back to zero when finished in order to keep calibration right
Answer: yes it helps to keep it lubricated by selecting a low setting when storing.
Question: Does it shows metric units as well? N*m
Answer: Mine does show metrics on one side, foot pounds on the other. But it really doesn't matter because it doesn't work anyway. Might as well measure in "Star Treck" units.
Question: When the desired amount of torque is reached, what does this wrench do? Does it "slip" like a regular hand held drill/torque wrench? How does it tell
Answer: The wrench slips/clicks like most of this type of torque wrench will. I've never had an issue with missing the click. I've probably used it 30+ times now.
Question: Just got mine. On the collar it has only numbers going 0-4. There is no 5-9, after 4 there is another set of 0-4. Anyone else have this issue
Answer: It's the way the main handle is marked. If you wanted say 24 lbs, then you would put the zero at 20 lbs and move the 0-4 up to the 4 mark. On the other side you would have 25 to 30. If you put the zero on the 25 then moved the knob to 4 you would have 29 lbs.
