User questions & answers

Question: What's the difference between this set, and the ones sold at Harbor Freight
Answer: The color and material of the handle as far as I can tell. I broke mine with normal use as a mechanic. The pawl deformed and the ratchet is useless.
Question: Are the lengths of these ratchets good for working on cars
Answer: Yes, they work great for automotive. However the only one of the three that really lasted was the 1/2 inch. The gears are where the 1/4 and 3/8 failed.
Question: Anyone know what the total length of the 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" ratchets is? Thanks
Answer: 1/4" is average arnd 6". The 3/8" is about 10" and surprisingly the 1/2" is about the same 12". Don't get a lot of leverage with the 1/2" but the ratchets work well in tight places. I'd but them again for the price.
Question: where is product made
Answer: This product is manufactured in Taiwan

Product features

270° Swivel Head

Pivoting through a continuous 270-degree sweep, the round swivel head lets you approach your work from any angle. Since there are no preset positions, you can even move fluidly around obstructions encountered along the path of your handle swing.

Lock-On, Quick-Release Drive

Sockets are locked onto the ratchet tang by a detent ball and locking pin so that they can't fall or be pulled off. Pressing the release button allows the sockets to easily drop off the tang, making even one-handed socket changes possible.

Comfortable, Nonslip Handle

Two-material molded handle has soft grips for nonslip control, even with greasy hands.

Product features

90-Tooth Gear = 4° Swing Arc

Smooth and refined, the 90-tooth ratcheting system offers a concise 4° swing arc. Depending on the drive size, the single half-moon pawl maintains 6 to 9 teeth (more than most dual pawl designs) in contact with the gear at all times, ensuring it will never slip or skip under stress.

Ultra-Compact Head

Unlike conventional "low profile" designs that focus on controlling only the thickness of the head, we reduced the size in every dimension: height, width, and length. And most importantly, we did it without compromising strength.

Classic, Non-Quick-Release Drive

Sockets are held onto the ratchet tang by a spring-actuated detent ball. Simply push the sockets on and pull to remove them. This lean design gives the ratchet a flat back (where otherwise there would be a release button) for even better clearance.

Sleek, Comfortable Handle

The finger ring has pronounced interior edges for traction and control, and is useful for any finger placement. The pommel at the end of the handle keeps your hand from slipping off the end, but is also rounded so that it's comfortable for your hands.

User questions & answers

Question: Does this come with a socket holder
Answer: Nate from Tekton here. The product does not come with a holder. We have a similar product SHD92002, a 1/2 inch drive 6 point socket set (10-32mm) that comes on a rail. However, it does not include the the 6 largest sizes that this product does.
Question: do these have a lifetime warranty
Answer: All Tekton tools are Always Guaranteed.
Question: What type of storage (if any) do the socket come with? Molded case? Rails
Answer: It does not come with any type of storage device.
Question: Do i really need this if i already have the tekton impact version? max torque i expect with hand tool is tightening crank bolt at 180 ft lbs
Answer: Impact sockets are meant for use with Impact Wrenches. For the best performance and longevity, hand drive sockets should be used on hand drive tools. Impact sockets are a slightly softer formulation of steel to take the harsh blows of an impact wrench. While hand drive sockets are a harder formulation to take the strain of high leverage use. Answer: The sockets have detents in them to hold them on the rail or ratchet.
Question: What length are these sockets? They look a little longer than standard, almost mid-length
Answer: They are standard length shallow sockets. If your looking for a mid length socket set look at gear wrench. I believe they make them in 1/4in. And 3/8in. Drive. Hope this helps.

User questions & answers

Question: Are the socket case dimensions the same size for the combo set and the individual sets
Answer: I can answer 2 of your 3 questions: yes it is a manual switch, the single button at the front middle in the photo, yes I use it with 3 computers (my work laptop, my Windows tower and my Linux file server). However I only use it with a keyboard and trackball (mouse), the third front connector is unused by me. I don't know whether a printer would "like" having its connection switch to another computer and switched back, but I have no way of knowing. I will add that the 4 lights across the top (that show which computer you're connected to) are somewhat dim so I lean forward to use the button. I see that as a very minor point, I have no significant complaints (especially for the price).
Question: How long are these
Answer: Yes. Hit 1 time for each number. It does not matter how many are on or connected.
Question: Extra long how long are they
Answer: This is a USB switch. It will not work with HDMI. HDMI has 7 data lines, 3 clock lines, power and an HPC line. USB has 2 data lines and power. HDMI 2.0 bandwidth is 18 GBPs. USB 3.0 bandwidth is 400 MBPs. Which makes the two technologies not very compatible.
Question: I need a 5mm that is 5mm the entire length of the bit. Can someone confirm that this set is true to size the entire length and not just the tip
Answer: Why not use2 Port HDMI KVM Switch HD Resolution Support Windows 2000/XP/Vista Linux and Mac This way no need to switch tV inputs

TEKTON

Based on 1 reviews Check latest price

Product description

For a ratchet that won't freeze your hand in cold weather and won't scratch fine finishes, choose the TEKTON 1/2 in. Drive Composite Ratchet. At its core is a tough chrome vanadium steel handle and head, hardened and strengthened through a precise heat treating process. The high-impact poly shell is softer than metal parts so it is safe to use near chrome, aluminum and painted surfaces. Great in tight spaces, the 72-tooth oval head ratchet needs only a 5-degree swing arc. Large dual pawls grip without slipping, delivering more torque. Drive direction is easily changed with the thumb-operated reverse switch. Sockets lock onto the quick-release drive tang so you don't have to worry about dropping them. The offset handle provides extra finger clearance, preventing scraped knuckles. The ratchet meets or exceeds ANSI performance and dimensional standards.

  • 72-tooth gear produces a working swing arc of just 5 degrees
  • Quick-release drive tang locks securely on to sockets so they won't accidentally fall off
  • Strong, one-piece chrome vanadium steel head and handle
  • Tough poly shell stays comfortable in cold temperatures and prevents accidental contact damage to nearby surfaces
  • Offset handle design with soft, nonslip grip gives fingers extra clearance

User questions & answers

Question: What is country of origin? Thanks
Answer: Taiwan
Question: Whats total overall length of 3/8 ratchet
Answer: It's about 8 to 9-Inches long, just like all other rachets. But it's made to industrial specs. I have one and it works great, use it everyday. Haven't had a problem with it yet. I buy a lot of tools from Amazon.com, and TEKTON is one hell of a tool. At a portion of the cost of other brand-name tools. Believe me after 40 some-odd years of busting nuckles this one is exceptional for the price.....
Question: Mine came on a display card, and I can't figure how to remove it
Answer: Push the quick-release button on the ratchet and pull it straight out. It's held to the card by the same locking mechanism that keeps the socket from falling off.
Question: Is it chemical and oil resistant
Answer: Its seems to be I even beat on it with a hammer, on a stuck bolt and did great. Nor sure what chemicals would do to grip.

Product features

72-Tooth Gear = 5° Swing Arc

Dual pawls maintain four teeth in contact with the gear at all times, ensuring that it won't slip or skip under stress.

Lock-On, Quick-Release Drive

Sockets are locked onto the ratchet tang by a detent ball and locking pin so that they can't fall or be pulled off. Pressing the release button allows the sockets to easily drop off the tang, making even one-handed socket changes possible.
