Answer:	OMG I have seen and own Allen wrenches in all lengths so who is to say what is standard. Hope this helps you. Trying to hit the largest, the middle and the smallest the 3/8" is 7" OAL. The 3/16" is 4-3/4". The smallest (.050") is 2-7/8". I find them comfortable in length. The metric version is very similar in lengths.

Answer:	They are 7-1/4" long, both sets. I just measured the metric ones, which are 2-3/4" wide. I have my US standard set at work so I do not have an exact width measurement on them: they are a wider set when left in the black holder. I would estimate the US standard set to be around 3-1/2" wide.

How long is this wrench

Answer:

I worked as a machine mechanic for several months. I used Japanese tools not Bondhus, but the ball on the end of the Eight and Tone brand wrenches I used was amazing. I would never buy a set of wrenches without the ball end. If you use a non-ball end and don't insert the head fully into the bolt it will strip the head. During my short career as a mechanic I tightened hundreds of fasteners a day. With the non ball end I stripped quite a few bolt heads. I have never stripped the head of a bolt using the ball end of a wrench. You might look at the short lever arm on the other side and think it is a matter of torque, but you can easily use a spanner as a torque extender with the short heads. The balls are also amazing for off angle bolt access. I never had a ball end break even with extreme torque used to loosen fasteners with the ball with any of the Japanese tools I used. The one exception was with the ball end on a made in China Husky long ratchet bit for the smallest size 1.5mm hex key where I snapped two of them. When I started out I used the ratchet a lot. By the time I was done, I only used ratchets on rare occasions to avoid hand fatigue when there are many bolts.
