Question:	Will this easily crimp 8 gauge butt connectors
Answer:	I have not tried the crimping feature yet. The tool says it will crimp up to 10 gauge, but looks like it would work on 8 gauge. I bought the tool to cut small machine screws. Unfortunately, I had to re-tap the 10-32 threads in the tool. The other screw sizes were fine.

Answer:	I've never used it for jewelry but it cuts wire very crisply and the nose has a flat crimper that would close small metal parts easily.

Answer:	As a bike mechanic, I would highly recommend getting a tool specficially for cable cutting. It's a curved blade that won't fray the stands. I expect steel cables will dull this blade quickly.

Answer:	On the left there is a label ("INSUL AND NON-INSUL") that points the center of the two places to crimp, with the one closest to the pivot color coded for blue and yellow connectors (or 16 - 10 gauge), and the next crimp area for red connectors (or 22 - 18 gauge). The bump on the right side between the two is not meant for crimping.

Answer:	I haven't had any luck with it on Genesis Speaker wires in 16 and 14 gauge. Cat 5e and Cat6 STP and UTP it does well stripping the jacket but watch for nicks on UTP and peal back.

Answer:	It is supposed to auto adjust for most heights and do 10-24 AWG wires. There is a micro adjust that can be adjusted so the grab side doesn't dig into the wire. My first pair wouldn't strip anything regardless of gauge, and the new pair strips intermittently. When it does strip it causes more damage to the insulation exposing wire in front of the strip point, despite the micro adjustment. I am giving them a week in the field and testing on various wires and will hopefully have some sample video and photos.Perhaps I will figure out how they can be used without these problems if not they will also be returned.

Answer:	Well i've had this tool for a long while and i haven't use any lubricating for the katapult wire stripper i just unsrcew it to loosen it up or tighten it more. Answer:	I'm not really sure...I used this stripper for a single job installing overhead fluorescent lights. The wires were pretty small, but I'm not sure what the gauge was.

Answer:	Yes, as long as the AWG is between 20 and 30. Most communication wire is AWG 24, 26, so it would work. But, it is up to you to know the AWG of the wire you are using. If you use a hole that is too small in the stripper, you could nick the conductor and that would not be good. It's critical the proper AWG hole is used for the AWG wire.

Question:	Can this strip and crimp coaxle cable
Answer:	Yes, it will strip coax cable. I stripped a piece of RJ-6. The outer jacket was removed leaving the wire mesh shield in place. I then pushed the mesh shield down and stripped the inner layer exposing the copper core. Worked like a charm. However, I don't recommend crimping coax cable with this tool. The crimper on this tool is designed for crimping electrical connectors. Suggest you invest in a coax crimp tool.

Answer:	They are not too heavy as to drag you down while you are working. However, these are sturdy wire strippers. They are not so light as to feel cheap. They are just right.
Question:	What is the brass tuning screw for on the wire stripper
Answer:	It's supposed to be for adjusting the stripping strength so you don't damage the wire when you strip it. I wouldn't recommend these strippers to anyone. They broke the second time I tried to strip a wire. Spend a little more and buy a brand name. Otherwise, you may be having to order a new one quicker than expected.

Answer:	metric wire diameters 0.039"= 1mm

Answer:	this tool can not crimp at all, for stripping wires only
Question:	Does it have a locking mechanism so it doesn't stay wide open
Answer:	Unfortunately it doesn't have one. This is one of the reasons why I lost the spring.
Question:	What are the exact dimensions of these strippers? I'm looking for something compact enough to fit into a small toolkit case
Answer:	The wire cutter is 6" long, the width of the grip is about 3 5/8" not depressed, and at the tip is about 1 3/16" not depressed. The thickest section across the length is 5/8" in the grip area. These measurements are by sight with a ruler.

KNIPEX Tools new patent pending Forged Wire Stripper is a true game changer. It strips solid and stranded wire 10-20 AWG. Wire locating ridges make it easy to find stripping holes. It cuts 6-32 and 8-32 screws without threading from either the front or back of the tool. Cutting blades are designed to cut individual wires, NM-B, BX/MC, and battery cable. Lock can be used either right or left handed. Knurled tip and wide flat jaws for better grip. Also includes wire looping groove and gripping area for pipes.

Answer:	Unknown. There are metal cutting blades that can be used with it. Have no idea whether it will do the job that you intend for it.

Answer:	Hi Roxann! The maximum cutting capacity at 0 miter/0 bevel is 4"x6". The 3821 also has a capacity for base molding against fence 5" on the left side only (45 degree angle). Answer:	In order to obtain an average, I would have to buy, say, ten of them, measure each one, add all their lengths together, and then divide by ten, which should give me approx. 6¼ inches, as stated by the seller.

Answer:	about 6", but I bought extra blades in assorted sizes that fit this model

Answer:	You can cut through most anything with this saw as long as you have the correct blade. I used a metal-cutting blade and sawed a cast iron bathtub in two.
