The Para 3 Family

Spyderco's best-selling Para 3 folding knife distilled all the key qualities of their time-tested Para Military 2 model into an ultra-compact, carry-friendly format. Now, this groundbreaking design takes another quantum leap forward by incorporating injection-molded fiberglass-reinforced-nylon (FRN) scales and a streamlined version of Spyderco's patented Compression Lock mechanism to create the Para 3 Lightweight.

Almost 30 percent lighter than its G-10-handled counterparts, the Para 3 Lightweight boasts linerless, open-backed construction and Spyderco's high-traction Bi-Directional Texture pattern for a secure grip. A stainless steel lock bar inset into the handle's interior forms the foundation of its sturdy lock mechanism, while keeping the overall weight to an absolute minimum.

The knife's full-flat-ground blade is crafted from CTS BD1N, nitrogen-enriched high-carbon chromium steel that offers a superior balance of hardness, edge retention, and corrosion resistance. Available with a choice of PlainEdge or fully serrated SpyderEdge cutting edges.

User questions & answers

Question: Does this knife have spring assisted opening mechanism
Answer: The blade steel is CPM SPY27.
Question: How long is it from the top of the handle where it is attached to the end of the blade
Answer: CPM SPY27 is a steel produced by Crucible exclusively for Spyderco. The steel looks somewhat similar to S35VN but with increased Nb and N, decreased C and V, and a 1.5% cobalt addition. The resulting steel is expected to have similar hardness and corrosion resistance to S30V and S35VN.
Question: What do you find yourself using this for? (Please talk me out of buying another Spyderco
Answer: Yes, it is in stock at Sooner State Knives
Question: Would you use this as a field cleaver for hunting? Specifically for splitting a pelvis of a deer or pig
Answer: Voyager XL would be too large for this. This is meant for more "normal" sized pocket knives, the sorta stuff Spyderco makes, not the Cold Steel mega folders. You could probably get the 4" Ti Lite in here, anything bigger than this is likely too big.

Roc

Designed by custom knifemaker Serge Panchenko, the Roc combines an unusual cleaver-style blade with a gracefully curved handle and a sturdy LinerLock mechanism to create a uniquely functional cutting tool that challenges convention. Precision ground from VG-10 stainless steel, the Roc’s blunt-tipped, PlainEdge blade features a low-profile matte gray finish and a saber grind that balances high-performance edge geometry with the strength and heft of a full-thickness spine. A long section of jimping (textured grooves) on the blade’s spine provides a solid purchase for the user’s thumb, and an easily accessible Round Hole ensures swift, positive one-handed opening with either hand. The Roc’s handle combines full skeletonized stainless steel liners with textured G-10 scales and an open-backed construction that reduces weight and simplifies cleaning and maintenance.

Its thick liners also form the foundation of the knife’s sturdy LinerLock mechanism, which includes a Bob Terzuola-inspired concave lock ramp on the blade’s tang. To ensure convenient carry and immediate access, the Roc features a reversible deep-pocket wire clip attached to the butt end of the handle to offer left or right-side tip-up carry.

Question: does this have the g10 back spacer between the 2 rings
Answer: Lol! Ok.. I'll try:) opening boxes, cutting wires, cutting twine. If you carry it as an everyday knife... you will use it often.
Question: Is this model made in America
Answer: Not really, no. The blade is about 3 inches long, much too short to be effectively used as a cleaver. It's just an interesting general purpose blade, really intended more for EDC use than anything else.

Karahawk

The original Spyderco Karahawk was a unique synthesis of the salient features of the classic Southeast Asian karambit and state-of-the-art modern folding knife design. Now this dynamic design is available in a stealthy all-black version ideal for use in environments where light discipline is a concern. The Karahawk’s dramatic hawkbill blade is saber ground from VG-10 stainless steel to provide an exceptional balance of strength, edge geometry, and corrosion resistance. It also features Ernest Emerson’s patented “Emerson Opener,” which automatically opens the blade as it is drawn from the pocket. The blade’s carefully engineered curve ensures exceptional cutting leverage and instinctively centers the blade’s point in the user’s grip. It is paired with a compact handle constructed with twin skeletonized stainless steel liners that extend to form the structure of a reinforced karambit ring at the butt end.

This ring provides outstanding grip security and supports the use of advanced “extended” cuts and spinning tactics. The handle’s liners provide structural support to the knife’s sturdy back lock mechanism and are capped by non-slip, textured black G-10 scales.

They also anchor a reversible hourglass pocket clip that supports ambidextrous tip-up carry. Best of all, the blade, liners, and all other metal hardware are cloaked in a low-profile, non-reflective black titanium carbonitride (TiCN) coating.

Kapara

The Kapara is based on Australian custom knifemaker Alistair Phillips’ popular “Redback” folder design. Named after an Australian spider with a distinctive red stripe along the back of its abdomen, Spyderco’s Kapara (another name for the same redback spider) faithfully replicates Phillips’ distinctive style and craftsmanship, as well as the signature red backspacer of his custom knife. Phillips originally created the Kapara as a personal carry knife to help him prepare healthy, vegetable-based meals. Its CPM S30V stainless steel blade is full-flat ground for exceptional edge geometry and has a fully accessible Round Hole for convenient one-handed opening with either hand. The gracefully styled handle has full, skeletonized stainless steel liners that provide structural strength and form the basis of the knife’s patented Compression Lock mechanism.

They are capped by stunning solid carbon fiber scales that are precisely crowned to provide a secure, extremely comfortable grip. An index-finger choil at the base of the blade allows the user to choke up for enhanced control and helps draw attention to machined details on both sides of the blade’s pivot.

To keep the Kapara poised for instant access, it includes a reversible deep-pocket wire clip for left or right-side, tip-up carry and a generously sized lanyard hole for the easy attachment of fobs or lanyards.

Salt 2

Although the Salt 1 earned an extremely devoted following, since it was based on the third-generation Delica, it lacked some of the design improvements that make the Delica 4 even better. So, consistent with our obsession with Constant Quality Improvement (C.Q.I.), we revamped the design to create the Salt 2. It combines all the salient features of the Delica 4 Lightweight model with the corrosion-resistant advantages of H-1 steel. These include enhanced ergonomics, a high-traction Bi-Directional Texturing pattern on the handle, and a black-coated titanium pocket clip that supports left or right-side, tip-up or tip-down carry.

Unlike the Delica 4, which uses stainless steel liners in the handle, the Salt 2’s handle components are molded from solid FRN and fitted with four sets of threaded stainless steel inserts to mount the four-position clip. All other metal hardware on the Salt 2 is also machined from special non-rusting alloys.

Product description

Shaped like a duck's foot, the Golden Stone is curved and angled, for sharpening anything with an edge. Holding the stone vertically (foot-side-down on a table top) the stone tilts side-to-side, lifting one edge up and making a 20-degrees sharpening angle (40-degrees total angle) for knife blades. Both of the stone's sides are elliptical edge with a large radius to sharpen PlainEdges and a smaller radius for SpyderEdges (serrations). Held vertically on its side, it creates a 12.5-degrees angle for scissors and a seam/channel running the stone's length hones pointed objects. Suede carry case doubles as a non-skid counter top pad for tabletop use.

User questions & answers

Question: Is this good for sharpening kitchen knives
Answer: Hi,Blade Length: 4.65 in, Fixed Blade. Includes Boltaron Sheath. That's the info we have.Sincerely,John Almeida
Question: What is the grit of this stone
Answer: Call Spyderco
Question: Are there scales blue/gray or black
Answer: The sheath is ambidextrous. Just looking at it should make that obvious.
Question: Is this knife grey or black
Answer: 440c cast stainless has unique metallurgical properties which allow it to be very sharp. Casting and properly heat treating heat 440c is difficult. I have this knife. It's the sharpest blade I've ever seen. Only bad things about this knife is the lack of a finger guard coupled with a slick handle and that it's heavy - so there's a high probability of a dangerous fumble.
