It appears that you need to buy replacement tips from each company to replace their respective tool tips. The good news is that carbide tips stay sharp for a long time for me.

Answer:	Yes, they work on any fastener. They do not have specific "size" index markings, the lever action handles just close down until they engage with the fastener sides. They are the same as channel lock pliers, but have flat jaws like adjustable wrenches. A must have tool!

Answer:	Rocketman:I have not noticed the grip collecting grit or dirt. The Knipex comfort grip material is fairly rigid (not spongy) - So the "comfort" factor is in the shape rather than being cushioned. I don't think this is going to get very dirty.Cheers!
