User questions & answers
Question: | what size are the star screws holding the belt clip on |
Answer: | If you can afford a carving jack why would you even consider buying this ??? don't get me wrong it's a good little knife for the money but it's bulky and not ergonomic at all your hand will hurt after a wile and the blades don't lock like the carving jack . You'll have to sharpen it to your liking ,but I rather loose a $ 25 knife in the woods than a $140 any day of the week. over all it's not a bad little knife once is sharpened |
Question: | What is the handle made of |
Answer: | We do not carry a left handed model. |
Question: | I bought this knife and opened it fine. Now I can't close it! Can someone please help |
Answer: | This is sad. I am 63 years old and remember when "Schrade" and "Uncle Henry" were brand names of knives you were PROUD to own and showed off to all your friends. Fortunately I do still have one old 'Uncle Henry" old enough to be of good quality. I recall sharpening a knife (Uncle Henry) for our Sgt and when he cut himself with it the doctor (took 12 stitches inside & out to sew him up) said it looked like he had been cut with a scalpel. I bet you couldn't get one of these new knives that sharp. |
Question: | Can you clean a deer with it |
Answer: | To all those complaining about the blades not locking, a blade lock was developed to keep a knife from closing when it is used to stab, like a folding skinner going through thick hide at the start of a cut (which is the wrong way to start that cut, too, by the way). If you are using this tool in any way that causes the blades to close on your fingers, you don't know how to use the tool, and you're looking for a hardware fix for a training deficiency. Stop blaming the tool and fix your ignorance. Nobody is born knowing how to use a carving knife, or any other type of knife, any more than they're born knowing how to use a hammer, saw, drill, gun, stove, oven, or jackhammer, and you shouldn't expect to expertly use a tool until you've spent some time learning how to. |

Maybe it’s because they’re crafted in Bradford, PA.
What Makes a Case Knife Different?

Quality Craftsmanship is in the Details
Case's commitment to quality is evident in the many pairs of hands that it takes to create just one knife. Case knives start with carefully shaped handles made from a wide range of genuine materials like cattle bone, stag antler, buffalo horn, mother-of-pearl, exotic woods and stones. Brass, nickel, and silver components highlight each form, bringing together knives that are not just beautiful, but able to stand the tests of time and use.

The pen blade is ideal for everyday tasks like opening mail and boxes. It can also be used for light whittling and cutting twine or cardboard.
Compact and Portable
The slim design is perfect for a pocket or purse.
Care Tips for Case Knives
Tru-Sharp Stainless Steel (SS) is a special high-carbon steel that helps the blades hold an edge. It also offers extraordinary blade strength and corrosion resistance.
Chrome Vanadium (CV) blades are known for their edge-holding ability and easy re-sharpening. However, they are less resistant to rusting, pitting and discoloration than stainless steel. We recommend keeping a thin film of oil on the blade to maintain the finish.
Sharpening
Blades are honed at an inclusive angle of 35° - 45° from the factory. Maintaining a constant angle, hold the blade 17° - 22° from the surface of a sharpening stone and stroke the blade as if shaving a thin layer from the stone. Repeat the stroking motion along the entire edge of the blade starting at the blade heel and working to the tip. Turn the blade over and repeat the process.
Cleaning
To clean the blades and handles of your Case knife, apply a small drop of oil in the joints of your knife and a small amount of oil on a clean, soft rag or cloth. Wipe down the blades and handles with the soft cloth. The inside of knife can be cleaned with cotton-tipped swabs and wooden tooth picks. To remove any adhesive tape on your knife, apply nail polish remover or lighter fluid to a soft cloth to easily remove the residue. Rusting may occur to older knives. Rust spots on older knives should be oiled well and the knife should be allowed to sit for a few days. Carefully, scrape away the rust spot with the tip of a sharp, stiff knife.
Our Recommendation
Case Honing Oil.
This honing oil is made especially for re-sharpening knives. The main features of this honing oil are: protect the sharpening stone, carry away debris, and produce a keen edge on a metal blade such as a knife.
