User questions & answers

Question: Is this still 8cr13mov like the original? No blade steel etched onto the blade, and the description doesn't clarify
Answer: Blade etched with "1555G10". There is no steel type marked but I believe it is 8Cr13MoV Stainless steel.
Question: Is it made in USA
Answer: No, I recommend Kershaw skyline.
Question: Can you remove the thumb studs
Answer: I read that you can, but the screw hole is not "finished" and it doesn't look good. There really is no need for thumb studs on this knife at all. It's my favorite edc though.
Question: How well does it keep a sharp edge
Answer: I got mine about five months ago, and it had been used every day ever since. It has never been resharpened, and it went through at least 6 different hiking/camping trips, and it still holds an edge fine. The 8cr13mov steel really is a bang for the buck here.Any other questions, let me know.

Kershaw Cryo Knives

A Rick Hinderer knife, the Cryo series of knives are results of a collaboration between Hinderer and the designers of Kershaw. Skillfully crafted and beautifully designed, the Cryo is built of pure stainless steel coated in titanium carbo-nitride for a no-fuss, no frills, sleek knife. The Cryo is designed with EMTs, police officers and first responders in mind. A sturdy knife that is aesthetically pleasing and feels great in the hand, the Cryo offers users a secure blade lockup using a tough frame lock and SpeedSafe Assisted Opening accessed using either a flipper or thumbstud.

Signature to a classic Hinderer design, Rick Hinderer uses a lockbar stabilizer in many of his designs. Hinderer claims fame over his Hinderer-style filler tabs among many other award-winning technologies and collaborations in Kershaw’s knife lines. Famous for the Kershaw Cryo, Hinderer designs unique and powerful knives built tough and built to last.

High-Performance Steel

A budget friendly, reliable, top-of-the-line Chinese produced steel, 8Cr13MoV steel has carbon and slightly less nickel for hardness and edge retention. Kershaw’s precision heat treated 8Cr13MoV steel strongly takes and holds an edge and offers wear resistance that can withstand damage from both abrasive and adhesive wear. 8Cr13MoV is a value blade steel featuring high performing characteristics.

Attractive Blade Finish

Depending on the knife’s design, Kershaw’s non-reflective stonewashed finish may be either pronounced or subtle, but in both cases, it transforms the blade by creating a fade-resistant, scuffed look that hides smudges and fingerprints. A stonewashed finish, achieved by tumbling a blade with ceramic stones, enhances a blade’s rugged appearance as well as its indestructibility during field use.

Fast Deployment

Using a torsion bar to move the blade out of the handle, Kershaw’s revolutionary SpeedSafe Assisted Opening system enables smooth, secure, fast one-handed blade deployment. Apply manual pressure to the flipper or thumb stud with a light push or pull back to overcome resistance of the torsion bar, and the blade opens smoothly and locks into place for confident handling without premature closure.

Secure Locking System

Kershaw’s frame lock design makes knives safer, securer, sturdier and quicker for one-handed blade deployment. The knife handle, or frame, has two metal plates on either side of the blade, and when open, the lockbar butts up against the blade’s backend to prevent blade closure. To close the knife blade, push the frame to the side to unlock the blade and fold the blade back into the handle.

One-Handed Flipper

Knives with SpeedSafe open have two options for one-handed blade deployment. To activate the smooth, instant open, user can push a thumbstud or press a flipper. The flipper on SpeedSafe assisted knives is easy to operate by both left- and right-handed users. And, once blade swings open and locks into place, flipper either disappears for aesthetics or remains visible for added finger protection.

Durable Handle

Stainless steel contains chromium to equip knife handles to withstand rusting and provide corrosion resistance. Stainless steel offers durability and is often used in combination with another material to make for an easier grip. Offering excellent durability, stainless steel knife handles often incorporate etching, patterns, ridges or lines for a less slippery grip.

Convenient Pocketclip

Kershaw designs pocketclips to fit specific knives according to their weight, intended end use, size, style and hardware. Some knives have multiple carry options, others are more streamlined. The 4-position pocketclip allows tip-up or tip-down carry on both the right and left sides, providing users the most versatility. Proper use of the pocketclip promotes safety and efficiency while using knife.

Kershaw Shuffle Knives

The Taskmaster series, featuring multi-purpose saws and shears, were skillfully designed and crafted to excellence by Kershaw. This tool series is completely handy and sturdy, making the perfect companions on camping or hunting trips. Compact and tough enough to take on sizable objects, the Taskmaster tools are awesome for various tasks and projects. Cut overgrown bushes, underbrush, dead tree limbs or prune using either the saw or shears. The Taskmaster tools are made of durable, reliable high carbon tool steel and the textured handles feature rubber overmolding for secure, non-slip grip.

Attractive Blade Coating and Finish

Kershaw’s patented Blackwash finish derives from a balanced blend of blade coating and stonewashing. Together the two produce a precisely formulated all-black matte finish impervious to fingerprints, smudges and marring. And, even though the knife itself is brand new, Blackwash projects a well-worn, vintage look popular for blending comfortably with clothes and gear during everyday use and carry.

Black oxide coating is a chemical bath, or conversion coating, that converts the surface of the blade steel to magnetite. Mainly for appearance, black oxide does add some mild corrosion resistance and tends to minimize light reflection from the blade. The blackening process gives the blade an attractive, smooth, tactical, fierce black surface that is very desirable to knife owners.

Fast Deployment

The classic way to open a knife, manual action knives use a thumb hole, thumb stud or built-in flipper to safely deploy the blade. Holding the knife level at 90o angle, quickly and smoothly flick the wrist to maneuver the blade out of the handle. Place fingers along handle scales and apply pressure inward on the blade with the thumb. Manual systems do not employ mechanical assist to open a knife.

Convenient Pocketclip

Kershaw designs pocketclips to fit specific knives according to their weight, intended end use, size, style and hardware. Some knives have multiple carry options, others are more streamlined. A pocketclip with tip-up carry is positioned so the closed knife carries in the pocket with the tip of its blade pointed upwards. A reversible tip-up or tip-down pocketclip allows user to change tip position.

Classic Manual Flipper

Flippers on manual-open knives require user to push with quick strength until blade deploys. Some manual flippers disappear when blade deploys, others become a finger guard. Manual flippers appeal to inexperienced users as well as experienced users who prefer a classic, old-style opening. In both cases, ambidextrous flipper works as index finger applies pressure while closed knife sits in palm.

Durable Handle

Very tough, able to take heavy-duty hard use, and versatile, glass-filled nylon handle material is a nylon synthetic polymer reinforced with glass threads for increased strength. Glass-filled nylon has incredible stiffness for a secure and stable grip, great ability to withstand heat, and dimensional stability combined with excellent wear resistance. Unique to certain Kershaw products, an exclusive and iconic texture is used on the handle to identify the brand and to provide additional traction when using the knife. The pattern is in a “K” shaped repeating pattern to provide an extremely secure and safer grip. The K-Texture pattern ensures the user will always have a secure hold, even in slippery, wet, marine conditions.

Secure Locking System

With two steel plates, or liners, on the inside of each handle scale, the liner locking system safely secures the blade open and prevents unwanted blade closure. The lockbar butts up against the blade’s backend to prevent closure, and angles or is bent towards the blade tang creating a bias locked position. Apply manual force to move the lockbar to the side and fold the blade back into the handle.

User questions & answers

Question: i've seen that some come with a cordura nylon sheath instead on a leather sheath so which sheath does it come with? because i want a leather sheath
Answer: I think they pretty much fit any utility knife.
Question: doe!s this knife come with a leather shieth
Answer: I mean, they are dual sided box cutter blades made from a bit thicker, stronger, and less chipable metal. If ur asking if u can use ur ceramic/ glass stove top as the surface area to cut ontop of without leaving cut marks, no i dont think that will work. However, if u take a flattened cereal box n put it between whatever ur cutting n ur ceramic/ glass stove top; this will work! That is, as long as ur not forcing all ur weight down on the blade, as ur cutting.
Question: Is the blade full tang
Answer: They'll fit in the Gerber but will likely be a bit loose. The only blade I've found that works properly in the Gerber EAB Lite is the Stanley 11-931.
Question: most important question of all. is this badass made in the good ol' US n A
Answer: No the knife does not float.

User questions & answers

Question: What is so special about the limited edition
Answer: It's ......LIMITED
Question: Does this have the assisted opening
Answer: It's not assisted opening. However out of the box, it is a knife you can operate with one hand. Once you get a feel for it, when you push the blade past the friction that keeps is closed it will open with the flick of the wrist.
Question: Does the bottle opener work well
Answer: For a bar tender, no. It won't take a cap off in one swipe. In two easy swipes though, any cap will come off. 5/5 works well
Question: Made in the USA
Answer: Made in China. I wouldn't let that be a deciding factor though. Kershaw has plenty of excellent China made knives. If you want USA made knives you're usually going to pay for it. I think the most "China" part of this knife is the scales. Otherwises the build quality is great.

User questions & answers

Question: does it hold an edge well
Answer: Yes. I have had many stainless knives and none have held an edge like this one. Plus, you don't need to spend an hour on the oil stone to get a shaving edge.
Question: Is this product a genuine kershaw product? "tactical intent" is not listed as an official retailer on the kershaw site
Answer: Yes it's Kershaw, tactical intent is a great vendor I have bought many items from them through Amazon
Question: I just can't figure out (by looking at the pics) how do you open it? No thumb stud or hole or anything
Answer: Below the index finger curve of the handle is a metal sdtud that sticks out. (This also helps you hold on to the knife) When closed, the stud goes to the opposite side of the knife. You flip the stud and the knife opens. To close the knife you just put some pressure on the lock inside the handle of the knife towards you and the knife can close.
Question: is it made in the us
Answer: No, it's 20$. It's a great knife, but if it's 20$ and halfway decent they had to save money somehow and that was by hiring cheap(er) Chinese manufacturers to make it. If you're interested in Made-in-America only, check out Zero Tolerance knives. It's a Made-in-America brand by Kershaw, so you know you get that same top notch quality with all American ethos. But, if price is an issue you're going to wind up with something from China one way or another. Doesn't necessarily mean it's crap, the Chill is a GREAT knife, best buy for the price I've ever seen but if price is not an issue ZT are amazing, well worth the Kershaw name but will run you about 100$.

Product description

Kershaw’s popular Scallion now comes in a handsome olive drab. Like the rest of the Scallion family, this olive version has a 2.4-inch blade, making it the ideal size for easy, lightweight pocket carry that steps up to just about any task. The razor-sharp blade is made with 420HC high-carbon stainless steel and bead-blasted for an easy-to-maintain matte finish with good edge retention and excellent corrosion resistance. The Scallion comes equipped with SpeedSafe assisted opening, for simple, one-handed blade deployment activated with a simple pull back on the ambidextrous flipper that glides the blade out of the handle. The olive drab Scallion's aluminum handle scales are anodized to accept the olive dye and produce scratch resistant, colorful handles. A locking steel liner secures the blade open during use and is easy to close for storage. A Tip-Lock adds extra safety when users simply move the slider built into the handle to help guard against accidental opening.

From the Manufacturer

The popular Scallion now comes in a handsome color: Olive Drab. Like the rest of the Scallion family, it has 2 1/4-inch blade that makes it the ideal size for easy, lightweight pocket carry. Even so, the Scallion steps up to just about any task you'd ask it to do, from breaking down cardboard boxes to slicing an apple for a snack. The blade is 420HC, a high-carbon stainless steel blade with good edge retention and excellent corrosion resistance. For an easy-to-maintain matte finish, the blade is bead-blasted. And as always, the Scallion comes equipped with Speed Safe assisted opening. With Speed Safe, you can open the blade one-handed. Just pull back on the ambidextrous blade protrusion or push on the thumb stud and the blade moves out of the handle, ready for use. To get that discrete olive drab color, we anodize the Scallion's aluminum handle scales so they will accept a dye to produce our scratch resistant, colorful handles. A locking steel liner secures the blade when open and is easy to close for storage. A Tip-Lock builds in extra safety during transport. Just move the slider built into the handle to help guard against accidental opening. If you like a little color in your pocketknife, but want something a bit discrete, the Olive Drab Scallion may be for you. Technical Specifications: Made In The USA, Flipper, Liner Lock, Single Position.

User questions & answers

Question: Can you take the pocket clip off
Answer: Thank you for checking with us. There are a couple of screws that attaches the clip to the knife. You may remove the clip if you decided that you don't need the clip anymore.
Question: Can you open and close with 1 hand
Answer: Thank you for your question. Yes, this knife is designed for 1-hand use.
Question: Good blade for bug-out bags / survival kits
Answer: I like this knife. Have 2 of them. Small enough to carry in the small front pocket of your jeans. My only complaint is that with both of my knives, the locking mechanism broke after I accidentally dropped the knives during the course of normal useage. There must be a little pin in there that keeps the blade closed when you slide the lock. That pin dislodged and was lost. Still a nice knife though.
Question: frame lock
Answer: It's a liner lock, NOT frame lock!

Product features

Kershaw Scallion Knives

Kershaw’s Scallion family series pocketknives are perfect for an everyday carry at just the right size. Small but mighty, the Scallion is excellent for almost any cutting task from breaking down cardboard to cutting twine to preparing apple slices. The Scallion offers wonderful cutting versatility as a pull back on the flipper deploys the blade made of high-carbon steel that offers good edge retention, corrosion and wear resistance. Equipped with two locking systems to ensure the blade will not accidently open, a locking liner and Tip-Lock slider keeps the blade closed when folded.

High-Performance Steel

Extra strong, modified 420HC steel has a higher carbon and chromium production, is easy to sharpen and is durable when in constant use. The 420HC steel composition has excellent corrosion resistance and is a tremendous everyday steel. Heat treated will good edge retention, 420HC steel has a high chromium and carbon content that provides superior abrasion resistance and edge holding capabilities.

Attractive Blade Coating

Kershaw’s Bead-Blasted finish enhances a knife’s aesthetics and complements its end-use. The high-tech finish is achieved by applying a mixture of fine media onto the blade’s steel under high pressure, creating a smooth, non-reflective matte surface. Fine media includes glass and aluminum oxide beads that allow color variation and optimal performance results for an overall stunning effect.

With two steel plates, or liners, on the inside of each handle scale, the liner locking system safely secures the blade open and prevents unwanted blade closure. The lockbar butts up against the blade’s backend to prevent closure, and angles or is bent towards the blade tang creating a bias locked position. Apply manual force to move the lockbar to the side and fold the blade back into the handle. Designed to keep the blade inside the handle, the Kershaw Tip Lock system is featured on all Leek and Scallion SpeedSafe knives. This simple slider, when engaged, ensures the blade will not prematurely open if not in use. The Tip Lock system is located where the tip of the blade meets the handle scales in the closed position. A press of the thumb activates the Tip Lock for secure, safe knife use.

Aluminum, anodized for color, hardness and additional protection, is very durable, stain and scratch resistant for strong knife handles. Anodizing changes the aluminum’s surface so a porous coating can be applied that will accept a colored dye. Anodized aluminum gives the knife bright, eye-catching, unique colors and provides a nice, hefty, solid feel to the knife without making the knife heavy.

Convenient Pocketclip

Kershaw designs pocketclips to fit specific knives according to their weight, intended end use, size, style and hardware. Some knives have multiple carry options, others are more streamlined. A pocketclip with tip-down carry is positioned so the closed knife carries in the pocket with the tip of its blade pointed down. A reversible tip-up or tip-down pocketclip allows user to change tip position. A single position pocketclip is normally tip-down, left side carry, but might be tip-up, right side carry depending on the particular knife. Single position pocketclips can be removed.

Product description

Kershaw’s premier value in re-curved blades showcases effortlessly in the excellent slicing and piercing capabilities of the Kershaw Blur. While both fierce and elegant, the mild S-shaped pattern of the 3.4-inch 14C28N Sandvik Stainless Steel blade serves not merely for looks alone. The slight curvature lengthens the edge of the blade, offering wide angular dimensions and draws the middle of the blade back into the material while the S-curve moves most of the blade weight toward the tip and the concave edge keeps the material from pulling away, avoiding tip overuse, optimizing angle of attack and enhancing cutting power and efficiency. The composition sports a black DLC (diamond like coating) for a hard, sharp blade that will not chip or dull. The knife’s handle is made of 6061-T6 anodized aluminum and features Trac-Tec inserts for strong grip in any condition. Whether for slicing, skinning or defense, the Black Blur is expertly engineered by Kershaw as the perfect fit for every user

User questions & answers

Question: How can I tell what kind of steel is used? I just received mine and can't find out by looking at the box or the knife
Answer: Other than what type of steel is used, it is usually stamped on the blade. Other than that, unless yur a nuclear scientists, Yu can't tell what type of steel is being used? It all depends on the Heat Treatment anyways...
Question: The picture shows a normal drop point style blade, however a reviewer said that it has a tanto style blade; which is it
Answer: I have a blur that is 5-6 years old blade is Ken Onion 1670GBBLKST that is drop point with half serrated, with glass breaker on the end of the handle, hope that helps.
Question: I had wanted a Blur and was just told by local police that any spring-assisted knife is considered an illegal switchblade in Calif. Can anyone confirm this
Answer: I am pretty sure they are allowed in CA, but your county can have different regulations. If your county police said they are illegal, check again and if they are, just remove the torsion bar. Works great without it.
Question: This knife was advertised on 12/13/13 as having 14C28N blade steel when I bought it. The next day the same page for the knife says 440A steel. Why
Answer: Are you aware that any of these knives made in China are 440A steel. Some here too BUT if Chinese then mark up is 3 or 400%. Some Chinese knives are quite nice IF pay the proper price for them. Welcome to the World Economy, if won't go away, LOL

Kershaw Blur Knives

With a big, slightly recurved blade ideal for multitasking, Kershaw Blurs offer amazing slicing and piercing capabilities good for tackling tough jobs. The Blur family of knives have many different versions from the steels to the handle materials. The same great, useful, powerful blade shape with fierce design offer users consistency and dependability. The low profile pocketclip rests on the frame making it easy to pull from the pocket. For right-handed tip up or tip-down carry, users experience trusted SpeedSafe Assisted Opening, razor sharpness, and corrosion and wear resistance.

High-Performance Steel

Sandvik 14C28N steel is a high-performance steel with increased nitrogen in the formula for excellent corrosion resistance and hardness. The overall highest performing knife steel in the world that still maintains the productivity benefit of being fine-blankable, 14C28N steel is ideal for knife applications which place high demands on edge sharpness, edge stability and corrosion resistance.

Attractive Blade Coating

Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) coating is often even tougher than the blade steel underneath it. DLC-coated blades offer extra hardness, high corrosion resistance, excellent wear resistance and a low friction coefficient so particles do not easily attach to the blade. DLC coatings display properties similar to a natural diamond that add beauty and attractive shine.

A slimmer and lighter blade locking system, Inset Liner Lock utilizes a sturdy steel plate on the inside of the knife’s handle scales. Riveted into place in a custom-machined cutout on the handle’s interior, the plate provides the strength and security of a locking liner without the weight. Inset Liner Lock reliably prevents blade closure while ensuring conveniently quick, safe blade deployment.

Aluminum, anodized for color, hardness and additional protection, is very durable, stain and scratch resistant for strong knife handles. Anodizing changes the aluminum’s surface so a porous coating can be applied that will accept a colored dye. Anodized aluminum gives the knife bright, eye-catching, unique colors and provides a nice, hefty, solid feel to the knife without making the knife heavy. Trac-Tec Inserts are rough-surfaced inserts that provide additional friction for a non-slip grip on a Kershaw knife’s handle scales. With extreme gripping capabilities, Trac-Tec inserts feel almost spongy when pressed with a fingertip. The inserts are comfortable and secure in the hand, and the texture is soft enough that it will not scratch or irritate the users’ hands.

Convenient Pocketclip

Kershaw designs pocketclips to fit specific knives according to their weight, intended end use, size, style and hardware. Some knives have multiple carry options, others are more streamlined. The reversible pocketclip allows user to choose to carry knife tip-up or tip-down or to choose on which side knife carries. The user may select either a preferred tip position or a preferred carry side.

User questions & answers

Question: where is this made - China or elsewhere
Answer: It's made in China. This would normally be a deal breaker for me. However, you would be hard pressed to find a better quality knife for the money. China or not, this knife has been manufactured in typical Kershaw quality.
Question: Is it spring assisted
Answer: YES and NO. No it's not "spring assisted" and YES it has a torsion bar that helps spring the blade open faster than a knife without Speedsafe.
Question: What is the length of the blade
Answer: The specs I've seen say it's a 3 1/8" blade, and using a tape from the handle edge to the tip of the blade, it's not quite 1/16" longer (depending how I hold the tape).
Question: I've always loved good knives but am woefully ignorant of the different metals. S30V, 440HC or 8Cr13MoV, etc. What do they mean, which is hardest
Answer: All three of these are stainless steels. To keep things simple, the harder the steel the harder it will be to sharpen, the softer the steel the more often it will need to be sharpened. 440HC and 8CR13MoV are approximately equivalent higher carbon SS, with the 8CR being from China. They will dull faster than S30V but are easier to sharpen. S30V is, being harder and holding an edge better, considered a better choice for knife blades. The softer steels are not bad choices however; they may dull faster but are relatively easy to sharpen, and that's what you get in return for a lower price point for the knives.

With two steel plates, or liners, on the inside of each handle scale, the liner locking system safely secures the blade open and prevents unwanted blade closure. Apply manual force to move the lockbar to the side and fold the blade back into the handle.

User questions & answers

Question: Does the thumb stud protrude on both sides of the blade so that the blade can be opened one-handed in either hand with just the thumb
Answer: I’d call the thumbstuds more of a blade stop than a thumbstud They do protrude from each side of the blade but they are so close to the handle that it’s difficult to employ as a thumb stud The flipper is perfect It uses their speedsafe spring system so you should be fine with just the flipper
Question: How strong was the handle? I've never seem "glass filled nylon" before and I was wondering if it was sturdy enough to stand up for hard duty
Answer: Open the hood of your car. All that black plastic? Glass filled nylon. PA66GF35. Everything is made of it. It's good stuff. Don't worry.
Question: how well does the blade sharpen and how long does it stay sharp under use
Answer: It actually sharpens very well, and quickly! 8Cr13MoV is a high-grade stainless steel that is slightly softer than, say, AUS-8 (itss most comparative steel, some say). With a good diamond sharpener, I've found that the blade sharpens fast, and stays sharp under normal/moderately extreme use, from breaking down cardboard boxes to carving sandstone (though highly possible, the latter use is not a good use for any knife). Try the Smith's PocketPal sharpener or one of Kershaw's sharpeners. Hope that helps!
Question: Is this knife made in the USA
Answer: My knife blade says 1990 KAI Patented so my understanding is that it’s made in “Japan” at least my particular knife.. Either way, a good knife is a good knife regardless of where it happened to have been made. My 2018’ VW GTI was assembled in Mexico for example but this doesn’t somehow change the fact that its regardless a very solid, well made automobile.

User questions & answers

Question: Does this knife have assisted opening
Answer: No it does not.
Question: Is any type of metal inside the platic handle holding the blade, or is just plastic like the buck bantam knifes
Answer: Yes. But if you have a Mac you can't upload anything as this device is windows based.
Question: Is this too big for carrying in the pocket? My daughter is looking for a knife for her stepdad but it looks big
Answer: I can't find anything that indicates it is. I tried to install it in my macbook and learned the hard way that small-size CDs don't come back out of the tray. That said, you could put the ISO on a flash drive and see if it runs on a Mac. If not, you could set up a small virtual machine.

User questions & answers

Question: I bought 2 in the last month and the one i got today has an american flag near the "kai" logo on the blade im pretty upset both didn't have the flag
Answer: Get over it. It was never advertised to have a flag in the first place. Don't complain about something not promised or advertised.
Question: Has the liner lock failure (i.e., from exerting pressure on the spine of the knife) been fixed by Kershaw
Answer: I haven't had any issues with the liner lock on any of my Keyshawn knives. I just took my edc Kershaw blue out of my pocket and tried with. Oth of my hands to force it closed when locked open and could not.
Question: Is this knife California compliance
Answer: You would need look up the regulations on the type and blade length some differ from state to state its good to know so u dont pick up a fine
Question: The picture for the 1670OLBLK shows a tanto serated version, which is a different model number. So which model is Amazon selling
Answer: I just spent 30 minutes chatting with Amazon. Currently on this page it shows a serrated blade, and it says it in description. When you put it into your cart it changes to the non-serrated version. This is what I received, not what I wanted though. Hundreds of items purchased from amazon and this is the first real screw-up on their part. They don't make it as easy to fix as I'd like either. Credit card refund in 2-3 days, but Debit card is 2 full weeks? Not a happy camper with that answer.

Product features

With two steel plates, or liners, on the inside of each handle scale, the liner locking system safely secures the blade open and prevents unwanted blade closure. The lockbar butts up against the blade’s backend to prevent closure, and angles or is bent towards the blade tang creating a bias locked position. Apply manual force to move the lockbar to the side and fold the blade back into the handle.
