Chrome Vanadium (CV) blades are known for their edge-holding ability and easy re-sharpening. However, they are less resistant to rusting, pitting and discoloration than stainless steel. We recommend keeping a thin film of oil on the blade to maintain the finish.

Sharpening

Blades are honed at an inclusive angle of 35° - 45° from the factory. Maintaining a constant angle, hold the blade 17° - 22° from the surface of a sharpening stone and stroke the blade as if shaving a thin layer from the stone. Repeat the stroking motion along the entire edge of the blade starting at the blade heel and working to the tip. Turn the blade over and repeat the process.

Cleaning

To clean the blades and handles of your Case knife, apply a small drop of oil in the joints of your knife and a small amount of oil on a clean, soft rag or cloth. Wipe down the blades and handles with the soft cloth. The inside of knife can be cleaned with cotton-tipped swabs and wooden tooth picks. To remove any adhesive tape on your knife, apply nail polish remover or lighter fluid to a soft cloth to easily remove the residue. Rusting may occur to older knives. Rust spots on older knives should be oiled well and the knife should be allowed to sit for a few days. Carefully, scrape away the rust spot with the tip of a sharp, stiff knife.

Answer:	I am a 75 year old unsteady LADY and I would never straddle the cane ! I am so glad I bought this cane/seat; I use it often, sometimes with the cane in back and sometimes on the side, but I NEVER straddle it!

Answer:	About 19 1/2 inches. You have to be sure to sit on it FACING the handle. You stand over it, one leg on each side and then sit down. If you are wearing a skirt it might be a little difficult. It is light and easy to carry and when you fold up the seat you can use it for a cane. I use mine at the bank and post office where I have to stand in line. The seat is only 8 1/2 inches round, so it isn't meant for sitting for long periods of time.

Answer:	Try re-tightening the band where you adjust the height. That has always stopped the clicking sound for me until the cane gets too worn.
Question:	Is this knife spring assisted
Answer:	Contact the company or look on their website for canes that can support that much weight. It is possible that collapsible canes cannot. This one is definitely made for heavier people. Check with the doctor, too. A quad cane, which has 4 legs, with a large base is probably more stable for a 500-lb. person of they will be using a cane for any purpose including balance. A plus is that a quad cane stands up by itself and saved the person from having to lean over and pick it up if it falls easily like regular canes do. Hope this helps!

Locking Mechanism

Our Copperlocks have a tumbler that is partially visible on the top of the knife. Opening the blade causes the tumbler to lock against the blade so it locks open. Pushing down on the tumbler on top of the handle releases it and enables the user to close the blade. Lockback knives can require two hands to close the knife but one-hand opening.

Tru-Sharp Stainless Steel (SS) is a special high-carbon steel that helps the blades hold an edge. It also offers extraordinary blade strength and corrosion resistance.

Chrome Vanadium (CV) blades are known for their edge-holding ability and easy re-sharpening. However, they are less resistant to rusting, pitting and discoloration than stainless steel. We recommend keeping a thin film of oil on the blade to maintain the finish.

Sharpening

Blades are honed at an inclusive angle of 35° - 45° from the factory. Maintaining a constant angle, hold the blade 17° - 22° from the surface of a sharpening stone and stroke the blade as if shaving a thin layer from the stone. Repeat the stroking motion along the entire edge of the blade starting at the blade heel and working to the tip. Turn the blade over and repeat the process.

Cleaning

To clean the blades and handles of your Case knife, apply a small drop of oil in the joints of your knife and a small amount of oil on a clean, soft rag or cloth. Wipe down the blades and handles with the soft cloth. The inside of knife can be cleaned with cotton-tipped swabs and wooden tooth picks. To remove any adhesive tape on your knife, apply nail polish remover or lighter fluid to a soft cloth to easily remove the residue. Rusting may occur to older knives. Rust spots on older knives should be oiled well and the knife should be allowed to sit for a few days. Carefully, scrape away the rust spot with the tip of a sharp, stiff knife.

Our lockbacks come in three different sizes.

1) X-Small - 2.5 inches.

Blade Options

This collection offers two different blade types; the clip blade and the drop point blade.

The clip blade is equipped for cutting and slicing in tight spots. The drop point excels at cutting and carving. These blades are both ideal for every day carry and simple chores.

Locking Mechanism

The locking mechanism locks the blade when opening blade all the way.

To return the knife in the folded position simply push the Tumbler located at the top of the handle to release the locking mechanism and close the knife.

Answer:	Yes the knife is easy to open, closing initially was a little awkward but after using a few times you get the knack of doing it. I would really recommend the knife, I've had pocket knives from being a small boy (I'm now 76) and this is the best knife I have ever had. Enjoy!!
