Answer:	It of course depends on the size of the padlock and the type of steel, but I do not think the 8-inch Tekton would do the job. These are fairly small. I have a "big brother" to the 8-inch Tekton and it might not even be enough. Look at the product description; many times the recommended size/diameter of wire/steel rod that the tool can cut is listed. Sorry that I could not provide a better answer.

Answer:	If you look at the pictures the 8" has a slightly different jaw design than the rest of the line. You'd have to take some measurements but the jaw geometry is probably slightly different allowing a larger opening (if scaled down proportionally like the rest of the line, it'd only have a 1/8" opening which isn't too useful. For wires or bolts that thin you could use any other cutting tool as well, so they probably had to change things up to make an 8-inch sized cutter useful.

Question:	Would it be good for cutting stainless steel bicycle cable
Answer:	If you are talking about the SS cable that controls the brakes and the shifters, yes it will cut them easily. There are professional cutters that will cut more cleanly but cost more. If you are talking about a cables you would use to lock a bike to a fence to prevent theft, no they're too small.
Question:	Can it cut bed springs
Answer:	Probably a few times, mine made about 2,000 cuts of 14 Ga electric fence wire before they developed a divot, spring steel is a harder material normally....so possibly, depends how many cuts you are wanting to make.
Question:	How about a big fishing hook? Could these cut that
Answer:	They probably would, however they are bulky- wide and would not be a nice for the fish if that is what you are looking for. You may have better luck with something more trim.
Question:	Will these cut 14 gauge galvanized steel wire
Answer:	Definitely no. I am a tanker driver and need wire cutters to break wire seals and have used many brands. This is the worst. Had to snip strands off separately for 5 minutes to finally remove wire seal. Don't waste your money

Answer:	No it’s not big enough or strong enough.

Answer:	It will cut a metal spoon. It would easily cut the handle, but would likely make a mess out of the business end of a spoon.

Answer:	I never tried cutting anything near that thick. If it would, I don't think it would do it a lot. This cutter is about the size of a large set of pliers. I wouldn't trust them to cut a lot of chain link.
