Answer: If you mean to modify it you prob can but not normally, there are however 4 metric screws on the bottom that hold the vise to it's support rod and ball assembly. So if you made a custom plate with the same screw pattern my guess is it can work ... I hope that gives you an idea.

Question: Will this work to hold a pistol slide for installing sights without maring the slide
Answer: I've used them for years and have tried them both ways. It works best for me when I mount it higher than the air compressor outlet (gravity is your friend, it draws the moisture down) with the Schrader valve pointing down and filter element up...air should flow from the Schrader valve end to the filament end. As the moisture collects in the glass, you simply depress the Schrader valve and the water is released downward...I've painted dozens of projects this way and have never had moisture make it past this filter. As the assembly becomes cloudy and dirty from use/I swap it out with a new one...about once a year...

Answer: yes the valve should be at the bottom ! These filters appear to work both ways @! i have several and there don't appear to be any restriction on air flow either way i hook it up ! It should be fine both ways ! Might want to try it and see if it affects air flow for you ?I really don't care for it in the line and rather use it mounted on my paint gun ! Answer: I recommend the bottom of you gun if possible. It is made to allow free flow. The pressure may drop a fraction of a pound. Not enough for anything... it pretty much just filters the moisture so you don't have water spots out your gun as you spray. I used it in line for an airbrush but would recommend an iwata if you are using it for that application

Answer: My workbench top is made of 3 sheets of 3/4" MDF laminated together. It wasn't thick enough to flush the top of the vice with the benchtop so I shimmed underneath the vice and used lag screws and bolted it from underneath.
