Answer:	I didn't see any problem as low as you have the right paint. Just protect against over spray on things you don't want painted.

Answer:	Electric sprayer. But it is airless, you just plug it in to a 110 outlet...put the suction hose in a 5 gallon bucket of paint...and paint away!
Question:	If using outside, what sort of over spray does this create? I live on a busy street and don't want to end up getting cars parked nearby with overspray
Answer:	I've been a painter for over 20 yrs and used many sprayers, any paint atomized to spray will float 200 ft and stick to a car with very little breeze. Buy .01 mil plastic and cover any cars within 200 ft in the direction of any breeze, it the wind is blowing towards your back yard, paint quick before it changes direction. usually spray will settle within a 10 to 20 ft area from an outside wall with the most paint being in a 3 ft area below the wall. Plastic is cheaper than painting a nice car for someone else !!!
Question:	Can this spray benjamin moore advance paint (waterborne alkyd paint) unthinned? if yes, what size tip do i use
Answer:	The max spray tip is the key. I have a Graco X7 Magnum Pro and my max tip size is .017. This is found in the last two numbers of the number on the tip. So a tip marked 517 would mean that the spray tip orifice is .017. The “5” is half the width of the spray fan pattern. So the 517 tip would spray a pattern that is 10 inches wide (5 x 2) and would spray a paint that requires an .017 orifice which is a very thick paint. The orifice size requirement can be found in the paint specifications. This unit comes with a 515 tip, and I could not find the max tip size but I suspect this is it — .015 — which is a big orifice and can handle almost all latex or oil based paints but I would not use oil base in a sprayer because of clean up. Much easier to run water through it for clean up than mineral spirits. I am currently painting my deck and I’m using Sherwin-Williams Super Deck product which is thicker than normal paint, and I’m using a .015 spray tip. I’m using a 315 on the railings to limit overspray and conserve paint. The 315 will give me a 6” spray pattern and the .015 is within the manufactures specifications for this product. I could have used a .017 but it would have put out a lot more paint and made it a little more difficult to control overspray and conserve paint. I hope that helps. This is a great sprayer at a very good price, but follow the directions and make sure you clean it properly and use pump armor when stored.

Answer:	Why would you want to waterproof terra cotta pots. They were made to breath.
Question:	How is the viscocity out of the can, is it more like warm syrup or more like water...or somewhere in between? Thank you
Answer:	Maybe Slightly Thinner than warm Syrup, So probably between Warm Syrup & Water. A word of advice though, I had an extremely difficult time working with this product & had to sand and reapply many coats to get a satisfactory finish. It dries fast & if you run a brush over it after is has sat more than a minute it will create rough brush marks. Additionally if you apply more than a very thin layer it will crack similar to a crackle pattern. Unless you are putting this over a pure white background I would recommend that you use the standard "Crystal Clear" non-water based urethane. It has only a light yellow tint and is much easier to work with in my experience.

Answer:	No! It has a 120VAC motor. You would need a transformerr to drop the voltage from 220 to 120. Also, you probably also have 50 Hertz AC power while these are designed to run at 60 Hertz (used to be called "cycles"). If that's the case, buy paint rollers and brushes!
Question:	Can you spray stain blocker
Answer:	I've used this sprayer with KILZ stain blocker, you may have to add some FLOOD paint thinner but pay attention to how much you add to the size of can you are using, and only if your sprayer does not spray well with the stain blocker off the shelf. Also consider using a different tip if you don't get the results you desire.
Question:	What do you recommend to clean it if someone forgot to clean it out after using it? Mineral spirits
Answer:	Totally depends on paint used. Water for latex, mineral spirits or paint thinner for oil based, or lacquer thinner for lacquer based metal paints.
Question:	Is the hose included? Can't believe the specs don't say. If it is included, what is the length of the hose in the box? Thank you
Answer:	The hose is NOT 100' long it is shipped with a 25' hose. The unit is designed to allow use of 100' of hose. The wheels will not let the unit roll around freely without tilting it back first so they are not the problem on a scaffold. That said, I would still discourage putting the pump on a scaffold.

Question:	what size fan tip is this
Answer:	X5 comes with a 515, and has a Max Tip Size of .015" (i.e. 215, 315, 415, 615). It is not recommended you use a tip size higher than .015 due to the HP & Amps not being sufficient for proper flow rate & application -- putting a larger tip size does not ensure proper application, and MOST on-the-shelf latex paint will go through a .015 tip, with the pressure adjusted accordingly. Question:	can it be used on 240 volts power supply
Answer:	US 220/240 volt is a dual line split phase - therefore if you need 110volt you only use one load line instead of both along with the neutral or common and a ground line. So in the US you could but would need an adapter line made to your 220 plug. In Europe they use a single phase / single load line and if this machine were used there it would require a power converter (rated to at least 1500 watts continuous) to step the voltage down from their 220v to the machines 110v.

Answer:	Graco says max tip orifice size for this unit is 0.015, which is based on the flow rate of their standard finish tips. Just make sure the unit's flow rate (x5 is 0.27 GPM) meets or exceeds the rated flow rate of the tip you're buying to be sure. You can go up to 0.016 with the x5 if you're using Graco's Fine Finish tips since the currently available 516 and 616 fine-finish (green) tips are rated at 0.27 GPM (which matches the x5's output capacity). Also, you *must* check the data sheet for the paint you'll be using to ensure you're using the right tip orifice size. For example, Sherwin-Williams Emerald exterior acrylic satin (K48 series) specifies a tip size of 0.015 - 0.019 for airless spray application. Note that the maximum recommended tip size for this unit is also the minimum tip size required for the Emerald paint, so in this scenario, you *must* use 0.015 and nothing else. Any smaller will clog and any larger will result in a poor paint finish with ugly trails at the top and bottom of the spray pattern because the sprayer won't be able to maintain a high enough pressure to atomize the paint properly.

Question:	How loud is the motor when turn on
Answer:	Pressure gauges are not necessary if you have some sort of gauge in your air system allowing you to adjust the air pressure. However, having a gauge at the gun will allow better and more consistent control of pressures recommended for the products your spraying, which will help you with achieving the desired results.
Question:	is it only for water-base paint
Answer:	I bought this to spray primers and it works very well for that task but for bases and clears I'm not sure how it would do. I wouldn't recommend it simply because of the fact that it has a 1.7 mm tip which is too large for bases and even clears so if you do decide to go with this brand gun I'd suggest going with a 1.4 mm tip. I personally own a Finnex FX3000 with 1.4 mm tip to spray base and clear coats and I LOVE that gun. Works great, sprays smooth and the design is awesome, very comfortable in the hand.
Question:	Can I use it to spray primer and stain
Answer:	With the nickel finish you'll generally want paint with thinner, otherwise stuff gets gummy on the inside, use thinner and clean well and you'll be golden. On long work projects I recommend cleaning after 60-90 minutes of use then resuming.

Answer:	I used to use a 1.7 and I would thin latex paint for kitchen cabinets. Makes for a little bit of a finer finish but the 2.0 would work great. Something to consider though, with the experience I have had using over the years with these sprayers they work great, no complaints BUT I recently upgraded to an airless sprayer (a Graco unit from Home Depot). It's definitely a little more expensive on the front end but if you plan to spray anything including kitchens with a little frequency it cut actual spray time down significantly. It took a tenth of the time to spray the same sized kitchen with our graco unit vs the neiko. Good luck!

Question:	Can this sprayer have enough power for 50ft hose
Answer:	This is an excellent sprayer for home tasks and will do the job well.Some helpful tips: Read the instructions until very familiar with the machine. Remember to remove the sticker on underside of machine, it helps airflow and this is not clearly stated in the instructions.Definitely strain the paint just before application, and definitely use a product like "Floetrol", both will help prevent annoying clogs. Make sure that the ceiling height is sufficient for the 'dryfall' paint overspray to dry...some say 8' clearance while other brands suggest more than 10'.The machine is not designed for extension hoses, and 25' is not enough line sometimes...a wagon or cart to move the machine with you as you apply the paint will save a lot of time that would be wasted on repositioning the machine. And it is better to apply lots of thin coats rather than a solid single coat because the paint will run. (No paint ever covers in a simple single coat). Finally have some buckets of water handy to clean the machine after use...paint will dry really fast an make cleaning difficult if you wait.

Answer:	There is a 2 year limited warranty, which is based upon following the care & maintenance instructions detailed in the manual.The main difficulty I found not detailed in the manual, was that a sticker covers a little hole underneath the pump. This hole requires machine oil be applied prior to each use. The manual does not detail it is covered, and the sticker does not look like it is supposed to be removed. Other tips are the pump is made for gallon cans, so it is helpful to have a few extra for cleaning and to refill the paint can so the pump can keep siphoning the paint.The other BIG help with this model was buying a flat cart to place the sprayer on. This allows the pump to be portable without spilling paint everywhere. The hose to the gun is 25 ft...some reviewers said just get a 50ft hose...after talking to a paint store rep, he advised to stick with the 25ft hose because it is what the pump was designed for...and the 50ft hose would require the pump to work harder. This is another area where the cart helped solve reaching high places...because the cart could move the pump closer.The machine comes with a hand spraygun, and a tip. The tip is a 10inch fan, so it has a really wide spread. I purchased a 24inch extension attachment to allow me to stand a few feet away, and purchased a tip with a smaller fan spray, about 4inches...this gave me a lot of control and kept me further from the overspray.Use a bit of Floetrol to help the paint cover smoothly and don't forget to strain the paint (another reason multiple cans are useful) to help prevent clogs of paint clots. Keep clean water in the pump if you are not using it for a short period of time...if storing for a few months or more, use pump storage solution after the tubes are clean to keep the pump from corroding.Just read the manual till you understand how to assemble, clean, maintain and store and you'll understand how much it was worth the time, because this is a great package for the price.

Question:	So if I use this with Oil based paints wouldn't there be a different approach to clean up
Answer:	There is a slightly different approach for oil based paints. Instead of using warm water to clean the unit, you'd use a cleaning solvent like mineral spirits.
Question:	Would i have to thin benjamin moore's advance paint
Answer:	The Super Finish Max should be able to spray it with no thinning required, but extremely thick paints may need to be thinned down slightly. Spray your paint on a piece of cardboard to test for the right paint flow.
Question:	Does this require a compressor
Answer:	No, the Super Finish Max does not require a compressor. It is a plug-in unit, which means all you need is a standard power outlet.
Question:	Will this spray rustoleum oil based paint
Answer:	Greetings! If you go to https://www.homeright.com/products/super-finish-max-extra you will see the link to download the manual for this terrific paint sprayer! Yes, you can spray oil based paints, but you’ll need to make sure to use the proper spray tip. This sprayer comes with the 1.5mm, 2mm and 4mm tips of which you would use the 1.5mm for oil based paints, stains, polyurethane, etc. You can also purchase separately the 1mm tip for such things as sealer and varnish to obtain an even finer spray. Please note that there is also a 2.5mm and 3.5mm tips available as well. The suggested use for all these tips are explained in detail on page 5 of the manual. Thinning may be necessary and you should do so based on the paint manufacturer’s guidelines. Please note that this sprayer is NOT meant to spray automotive paints as those paints need an even finer spray than what this sprayer produces. How it Works

The Super Finish Max uses precision brass spray tips and nozzles, which provide superior performance over their plastic counterparts.

With 450 watts of power, combined with an adjustable air cap, the sprayer atomizes paint into tiny particles. These tiny particles are what is necessary for a fine factory-like finish.

Competitor's units can only spray chunks of paint, which after a couple of coats resembles a rough, paint roller-like finish.
