12 best painters tape for cabinets
Painter's tape for cabinets is a specialized type of masking tape used in the process of painting or refinishing cabinets. It is designed to make the painting or staining process cleaner and more precise by protecting certain areas of the cabinets from paint or finish while allowing you to work on others. Here are some key details about painter's tape for cabinets:
Low Tack Adhesive: Painter's tape for cabinets typically has a low tack adhesive. This means it adheres well enough to stay in place during painting but can be removed without leaving behind sticky residue or damaging the cabinet's finish.
Clean Lines: It is used to create clean lines and edges when painting cabinets. You can apply it along the edges where you want the paint to stop, such as the borders between cabinet doors and the surrounding frame.
Surface Protection: Painter's tape helps protect cabinet surfaces, including the door handles, hinges, and any hardware, from accidental paint splatters or drips. It is essential for achieving a professional finish.
Various Widths: Painter's tape comes in various widths, making it versatile for different cabinet sizes and projects. You can choose the width that best suits your needs.
Easy Removal: When the painting or staining is complete, painter's tape can be easily removed without damaging the cabinet's finish or leaving adhesive residue behind. It's recommended to remove the tape while the paint or finish is still slightly wet for the best results.
Versatile Use: While it is commonly used for cabinets, painter's tape can also be used for other interior painting projects, such as walls, ceilings, trim, and baseboards.
Preparation: Before applying painter's tape, it's important to ensure that the cabinet surface is clean, dry, and free from dust and debris. Proper preparation is key to achieving a smooth and professional-looking finish.
Quality Matters: Investing in high-quality painter's tape is essential for achieving clean lines and preventing paint bleed. Cheaper, lower-quality tapes may not provide the same level of precision and adhesion.
Overall, painter's tape for cabinets is a valuable tool for DIY cabinet painting or refinishing projects. It helps you achieve a clean and polished look while protecting the areas you don't want to paint. When used correctly, it can make the cabinet transformation process more manageable and produce professional results.

User questions & answers
Question: | What wide is the tape? I need 1 inch. The picture says 1 inch but the description does not |
Answer: | No it does not. The PCV is only on the passenger side. |
Question: | Is this tape good on canvas board while using acrylic paint |
Answer: | This catch can is a direct fit for the 2003-2006 model year Nissan 350Z, as noted in the Amazon description and the product page on Mishimoto.com. This also fits the 2004-2007 G35 as noted. Both vehicles use the same chassis and share most of their components, so the cooler should fit either version as we have confirmed fitment on both when equipped with the VQ35DE V6 engine. This will not fit VQ35HR versions of both vehicles. As always, if you have questions on any of the parts, we recommend confirming your vehicle's OEM specification and comparing part numbers for compatibility to be on the safe side. You are welcome to reach out to our customer service team for sizing and troubleshooting before purchasing as well. If you have any other questions, please send an email to [email protected] and we would be happy to assist further. Thanks, Mishimoto |
Question: | What types of watercolor papers are you using, hot press or cold |
Answer: | My husband installed in about 10 minutes? Looked pretty easy |
Question: | The photo is of a purple tape but the 0.94" description says "blue." What color is it |
Answer: | The MouseBlocker unit has a 1 year warranty covering manufacturing defects or if the unit stops working for any reason. In many of today's vehicles the battery is no longer mounted under the hood and could be found under the back seat, front seat, in the trunk or even in your case it is a hybrid. All these vehicles have one thing in common however and that is 12V power located under the hood still. This power is most likely to be found in a fuse or relay power box and that is where you would pull the 12V of power from to power the MouseBlocker. In cases like this we always recommend having a mechanic or 12V aftermarket installer (ie. stereo/remote car starter place) perform this wiring for you if you are not comfortable. They have the necessary wiring diagrams specific to all years makes and models. |

User questions & answers
Question: | can it be used on velvet fabric for social distancing markers in church? might be on 6+ months |
Answer: | Thank you for your question. These lights are 12.4 x 2.75 x 1.33 |
Question: | Need tape to mark off pews in church for extended periods of time without leaving residue behind when removed. Would this tape work |
Answer: | Hello K. Smith, thank you for your question. Open the battery compartment on the back of the light by sliding the back cover in the direction of the arrow. Insert 6 AA batteries noting polarity. Replace cover by sliding in opposite direction. |
Question: | Would this be good to mask of delicate metal to prevent scratching during a restore |
Answer: | We recommend checking the catch can after 1000 miles of use after installation. That will allow you to see how much residue you have collected within that interval and gauge a schedule for maintenance, as exact needs will vary from vehicle to vehicle and are somewhat dependent on driving style, other modifications, and environmental factors. In general, you will likely be emptying the can every 1000-3000 miles and we recommend removing the can for a more thorough wipe down of the internals about 1-3 times a year. If a more substantial residue is present, you're welcome to remove and clean the can more thoroughly with soap and water, and allow it to dry before reinstallation. If you have any other questions, please send an email to [email protected] and we would be happy to assist further. Thanks, Mishimoto |

Question: | Would the delicate surface or the regular be best for a mirror |
Answer: | This tape is not designed for long term use, it has a 14 day clean removal. Thanks for asking! If you have any additional questions please feel free to contact our product support team at 1-800-494-3552 Mon-Fri 8am-5pm CT. |
Question: | The photo is of a purple tape but the 0.94" description says "blue." What color is it |
Answer: | I would recommend frog tape for that ! It has a better glue and is a little more sticky . If you are going to do corners get plastic so it will stretch . Have fun with your project Bart 😃 |
Question: | Does it have a strong smell |
Answer: | I use it nearly every day on drywall. If the paint is sound and thoughly day, you should have no problem. I have had a couple of instances where a little paint stuck to the tape. Again, i use it all the time and buy quite a lot |
Question: | Would this be good to mask of delicate metal to prevent scratching during a restore |
Answer: | Unlike its clones I have never has issues with the original scotch product. I actually have small piece left on a door frame a few years ago and it is still there so I doubt you will have any problems. Also, unlike many adhesives this does not get gummy even if left in place for months. I would get the Edgelock version though if doing a typical textured wall. This only work on certain surfaces or for making a super clean edge when caulking. Just wait an hour or so before removing it. For paint it just stops it from soaking through like it can with some masking tape. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Do you have thinner frog tape |
Answer: | The Ketch-All should only catch mice but if it does you can simply let the chipmunks go. Another trap would be the pro ketch mouse trap . |
Question: | Is this tape made of frogs or for frogs? I would hate to think that you are squishing thousands of frogs |
Answer: | I am sorry that this is misleading. This is not our description, our original description was correct: 7" x 5.5" x 9". Per Amazon: "When multiple sellers sell the same product through a single detail page, we combine and present the best product data to ensure customers get the best experience." We literally have no control over the description details, even if the information is incorrect. The correct size is 7" x 5.5" x 9". The hole where the mouse enters the trap is 1" x 2". |
Question: | Is this solvent free |
Answer: | Use a stick or something like that to depress the black plastic trigger plate inside the tunnel (as if a mouse is stepping on it). The turbine inside, that flips the mouse into the holding chamber, will turn every time you press the trigger plate. This will unwind the spring mechanism. |
Question: | would this work to write on/label food for the freezer?...would the tape adhere to a Ziploc or plastic container, in freezer temperatures |
Answer: | I don't think that that trap will be able to catch rats that's that big the entry hole is too small and I don't think the spring would push him into the holding portion of the Trap |

Question: | Can you use on a car to protect in an automated car wash |

Question: | Does it stick to plastic |
Answer: | NO! We had it down for about three weeks and when we pulled it up the carpet was not sticky at all. |
Question: | How long must the wall paint dry before using the tap |
Answer: | Not sure of thickness but I can say it held up very well during our move and was easy to pick up. Use on carpet only. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does this plastic and tape combo fit a standard 3M masking dispenser? If not is there a combo out there that does |
Answer: | I use lots of this paper for painting houses. Sure, it would work for wrapping gifts. Keep in mind this paper is substantially THINNER than, say, brown grocery bags. So it wouldn't be suited for shipping. |
Question: | does car paint stick to the plastic |
Answer: | It won’t work because the tape rubs on the guide. The adhesive will stick to the guide not run. |
Question: | Can this tape with plastic roll be applied without the hand masker dispenser tool |
Answer: | Yes you can |
Question: | Does it come in the dispenser? A local box store has it in the dispenser for a little more money |
Answer: | No. Buy the blade for plastic film separately. It also works with paper roll masking. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is it good to use as a car cover, when painting a car |
Answer: | Maybe its just my perception ("all in my head" to quote someone who has no clue), but I feel no difference between the two products. I get mine at Walmart and it just depends what's on the shelf and the price. Sometimes the Magnilife DB is $13.99, a dollar cheaper than the Magnalife "regular" cream. I have restless feet and legs, along with pain in my feet and toes - usually only at night (of course). I find that the cream helps alleviate that pain and leads to a more restful sleep. |
Question: | Does this have taped attached to cover walls |
Answer: | Hi as far as I know it doesn't have soy I checked the ingredients and it doesn't show any thing with soy . |
Question: | Is it good to use as a car cover, when painting a car |
Answer: | Yes. You need to do a final cure on all fingers for 60 seconds. |
Question: | How many mils thick is this plastic |
Answer: | They don't sell just the lamp on Amazon. It forces you to buy the kit. Online you can get just the lamp for $90 |
