Answer:	I live in Oregon and it’s done well on my iron gate. To prep it I used a wire brush to mainly loosen any chips. I didn’t prime first.

Answer:	Possibly.my understanding is that oils polymerise over time.for example lindseed oil takes forever to dry.i would say walnut oil is relativly quick.probably from my experience.multiple light applications over an extended period of time will give best results.walnut oil in my opinion is very easy to work with.

Answer:	16 ounces goes a long way. Just coat the item and allow it to penetrate well. The second coat will not have to be as liberal as the first usually seals about 80%. I would not let it stand over night, but a couple hours before wiping off the excess.

Answer:	This is more of a wood preservative and not so much protectant. It soaks into the wood to keep it oiled. A preservative would sit on top and seal the wood. However, after scratches are made on the surface, Ive found this product to lessen the visual impact of the scratches.

If the scratch does not go all the way through the existing paint, you might try the "Clear Coat" scratch repair kits which renews the clear coat finish and in many cases makes the scratch almost invisible.

When I was researching this product, I saw people using it for mailboxes, house letters, outdoor lights, etc. In fact, we painted our house numbers with it months ago and they look great. I think you'll love this product BUT . . . don't buy it with this nozzle!!!! The nozzle does not work very well. You would like this product more if you buy it in a can with the regular nozzle, then buy one of Rustoleum's clip-on nozzles to use it with. MUCH better operating and way less wasteful. Trust me on this one! I wasted nearly a whole can of paint with this stupid nozzle. It sputtered all over the place. Lots of reviewers warned me, but I didn't listen and sure enough they were right. The paint itself is great, though.

Answer:	I have to be honest, metallic is my favorite. But I use gray, white, black, and yellow too. My house is yellow, white and gray and black trim. I like wrought iron, so if I want something to match that I use a shiny black. If I want a dark metallic I use an antique version. It usually is darker with the metallic paint than the shiny metallics. I also sometimes use more than one color to get the look I want.

Drys and doesn't leave fingerprints. Then after 2 coats (give each coat about 1 hour to dry), then you can use the 2x metallic paints which are also under 4 bucks for 12 oz. cans. If they don't have a metal color you want, like copper, you can still use it on the 2x gloss black used as a primer, and barrier from the plastic. It'll bond to the paint instead and come out brilliant after 3 to 4 coats. Yes, I realize this is a 2.5 year old post, but I thought it'd be helpful to those who are shopping now to know how to use this paint properly. :)

See one Rust-Oleum review from another purchase above. I've used black Rust-Oleum on antique cast iron furniture - primed with black primer, then two coats of black Rust-Oleum. It's only been through one summer, but no sign of flaking yet. However, two years ago I painted some old wicker furniture with antique white: definitely do TWO coats, maybe even three if you are repainting wicker, and if the old paint is flaking (it was on my stuff) get as MUCH of it off as you can before repainting. I only had time for one coat on the settee, and that wasn't enough - the new paint has been flaking off all summer. :( But again, I think that has as much to do with prep and undersurface as it does with the paint itself. I think with good prep and complete coverage, it will have decent outdoor durability.

Question:	Can this be used for spraying painted rocks to seal them for leaving outside
Answer:	Not sure about this product since I have not used it. I would use a spray polyurethane and apply it in a number of coats. It made yellow a little bit with time. I make totems with glass and wood and use spray polyurethane often and it holds up well so far outside.
Question:	Can i use this spray paint on my sons cranial helmet
Answer:	Ok, I just read the garb on the can that I bought and it does not say it is safe for childrens toys. I use that as an indication that it is probably not safe to have in skin contact or be used on something that could possibly come in contact with the mouth if the paint was to peel off. A lot of paint cans say - suitable for childrens toys, if I was you I would look for one that states that, then it should be your best option for the helmet. My thoughts only.
Question:	Would this work with shoes
Answer:	no i wouldn't advise putting spray paint on shoes lol!!
Question:	At this price, is it a case of 12 cans
Answer:	No, it's only one. The cans are all different prices depending on the color you get. Some cans are more expensive than others, for instance the Dover White is over $16 but it's still only one can. I don't know why the prices vary so greatly.

Answer:	Yes, I used it on a wood finish and on a tall iron vase. It looked like I bought them that way and both had a true polish effect. I highly recommend it.
