Answer:	Nathan, Thanks for the question. The Moisture Range on this Hand Held meter for CORN is 10 - 40%. However, the clear plastic funnel which is provided to assist with consistent filling of the test cell, will not work well on corn over say 25 - 30%. This is due to the lack of flowability in the higher moisture content. I would suggest that you still fill the funnel, but pour the sample back out the large end at just 1 - 2" above the test cell. EVERY TIME and at the same Rate. With this consistency, you would have much greater repeatability between different tests. Answer:	Not on the standard instrument, but YES, Long Grain and Medium Grain Rough Rice have recently been added to the available Calibration list. These would need to be substituted on the list, for example, Oats and Milo could come off and we add in the Long Grain & Medium Grain Rough Rice. I want to make clear that we have not designed a protocol of rejuvenation with those kind of batteries, and do not endorse that kind of use. If you are going to test the BLS on those kind of batteries, make sure to never have lead acid batteries in the same room.

Answer:	The BLS 48A is used with solar/wind systems up to 600A. It is used with Polaris four wheelers as well. The BLS 48N is used only on 48V golf carts. Answer:	Yes it does. It features 8 separate scales (A-H) to use with different types of wood.A scale is for red oak and white oak. If you can't find the exact scale when you test other woods,you could choose the close wood scale, the result also is accurate

Answer:	My pin protectors were snug fitting but with a slight twist easily removed. If you have never removed the plastic protectors, contact supplier. May have been accidentally glued onto the sharp pins.
Question:	Where is this product made
Answer:	It can be used on masonry. The pins are strong, but they do not need to "poke through". If by "concrete walls" you mean a block wall, then this meter should work well. If you mean poured concrete, understand that all concrete cracks and water, if it seems, seeps through the cracks. Otherwise concrete is pretty much impermeable
Question:	What is your homes average moisture for drywall? My home has water damage throughout the home so I dont have a baseline reference. Thanks
Answer:	You are quite observant, there is no "J" setting on the moisture tester. When I look at the species listed on back of instruction sheet, those labeled "J" seem to be rather rare or exotic species. If you have one of these species, use a setting of say "H" and note moisture reading. Basically you are looking at relative moisture levels over time.

Answer:	This tool will measure the moisture content of any building material including wood and drywall. If the test indicates a high moisture content in just one spot, you could probably conclude that there was a leak at that point.

Answer:	As far as i can tell the probes are about 3/8 long. The are metal, and have a plastic cover to protect them and you when not in use. The cap can also be flipped over once taken off, to help check device itself, for calibration. They are replaceable. They actually come with an extra set of pins (probes). Hope this helps.

Answer:	The Extech MO50 takes quick Moisture level reference measurements (in percent %) on wood and building materials. The measurement range for building materials is Low: 1.5% to 16.9%; Medium: 17% to 19.9%; High: 20 to 33%. If the expected moisture percentage of the paper is expected to fall at or above 1.5% then the MO50 Compact Pin Moisture Meter would work appropriately.

Answer:	Thank you so much for your interest in our products. The MO53 is able to detect moisture at 0.8''. For the application you mention, I believe you can be interested in a different meter. From FLIR, we can suggest the MR176 using the MR12 ball probe. That will help you to get almost 4'' depth in the material.
Question:	Can I use it for drywall
Answer:	Expect you would have to push the meter probes through the paint layer to get a good reading.
Question:	Is this pinless
Answer:	It really only measures moisture that is within 1/2" of the surface. For example I have a leaky toilet in a bathroom and the subfloor is saturated with water. I have to push the prongs through the surface of the flooring until it reaches the wet subfloor, in order to get a reading. If you need something for reading deep within a wall, you will need an invasive meter which has really long prongs that can be fed through test holes that you drill into the affected area. If you want to test deep within areas such as several inches, the only way is through destructive inspection, pinless moisture meters, and in some cases infrared cameras. extech is one of the most trusted meter brands and I am very happy with my purchase. It works best for measuring the moisture content of wood specifically at the test location. If there was a flood and the surface appears dry but you have some suspension as to what's going on several inches into the wall cavity, this meter will not help.

Question:	Can it be used for measuring moisture in soil
Answer:	The little booklet says to use setting # 3 when you are not sure about a wood type, I would start there and then try setting one up and one down and see what the readings are and how they compare to each other. Then get it wet and try the test again.

Answer:	Must have been a return and seller did not check it. Mine came with both. You can probably download instructions off web. Batteries not so much
