Answer:	Sure. It measures angles. Zero it out at any point then it measures the angle from that zero out point.
Question:	Does it support absolute level
Answer:	The WR300 does not but the Wixey WR365 does. The WR365 combines two functions, differential angle and level. Level in the WR365 is derived using what they TM as Dead Level Technology. The Level measurement is referenced to earth level (like a bubble level) but in this case calibrated at the factory and permanently stored in the gauge.
Question:	Does anyone know what the difference in the wixey wr300 type 2 and the wixey wr300 other then the latter is $2 bucks more? is this magnetic
Answer:	Their accuracy is not the same although their resolution is. The TYPE1 has an accuracy of .1 deg. while the TYPE2 has an accuracy of .2 deg. Although someone said the TYPE1 is discontinued, it still appears on the Wixey website as being available. If anyone tells you the only difference is battery and backlight, they haven't read the specs from the manufacturer.

Answer:	Hi. That means every time you turn on the device, it is absolute zero. You could set the zero point according to your need when you want to measure relative angle. While when you power it off and on again, the zero back to absolute zero. So you could turn it off for anu angle you wish.

Answer:	Laser Level Line laser distance is related to the brightness of the environment. Generally, it can reach 10 meters in the daytime. If the light is dark, it can be more distant, even 25 meters.

Question:	Is the magnets Neodymium
Answer:	Cant say what material made from, but hold on to ratchet or breaker bar very strongly
Question:	when i follow the instruction to calibrate and measure angle, the back light stays on and it does not change degrees, is mines defective
Answer:	It may be defective, when calibrating lay on a level flat surface and wait for the gauge to return to 0 degrees. Then put on metal handle or use alone and turn to find degrees of turn. I had to play with mine for a while to get use to it.

Question:	Does it work in any angle? Meaning, what if my wrench is rotating at an angle not level or plumb, such as when torquing a head bolt
Answer:	I have only used it to a 85* TA, but seen the readout go up to 200s. If you mean the angle of breaker bar, I have used it in many odd angles with no issue.

Answer:	Yes
Question:	Can you tighten down the t-bevel to hold the angle
Answer:	Hi Jesse. I'd have to say yes. It does read down to 0.1 degrees (1/10th of a degree) I find it easy to zero out (long press on the 'On' button), and can even rev. the display, from 45 degrees, to 135 degrees. Which I often do. The battery lasts an extremely long time, though I do keep a few spares. Others have complained about the knob, moving the displayed reading while tightening it on the angle to be read. But as you may likely already know, the key here is to just simply keep the knob snug enough to stay, yet just loose enough to move to the angle you are trying to find on your block of aluminum, or whatever. I use it most often on bending polished ornamental metals, and do need to land on 1/2 degree increments from time to time. I Love this thing!
Question:	Can this be used to set accurate angles on table and miter saw blades
Answer:	theres a button opposite the battery I guess that aids in opening the battery holder. I just ooch it in enough to break the connection and make it turn off

Answer:	On the metric side of the ruler close to the read out display push the little tab and battery compartment should slide out on the opposite side , battery installation + side down , takes one CR 2032 battery.

Question:	Does this measure incline in percent? Like 2% 4%, etc
Answer:	Great tool for mitre cuts
Question:	Ho much does this item weigh? Weight is critical for my application
Answer:	I have never personally had to make a bevel cut but this tool could measure any type of angle. If you do woodworking, this tool will definitely come in handy for crown molding and other situations where you have to figure out an angle to get a tight precision fit. I am glad I own this tool as it has helped me many times.
Question:	Can I get the factory calibration back after I re-calibrate it
Answer:	My 505A-7 was shipped on the 8/04/14. On the box there was a label about being laser engraved for accuracy. The numbers and degrees marks are raised above the surface of the metal ( I would say less that a .001 of an inch) for you can feel them. In other words the surface is not smooth like the information on the legs. The information on the legs looks to be printed for the surface is very smooth. This tool is very accurate, I've check it with several of my other degree measuring tools.
Question:	I don't get it,Why magnets only on the bottom? Saw blades are vertical and side magnet makes more sense. Many mentioned weak magnet
Answer:	I just received one purchased in 11/2014 and although it says "laser etched" it looks more like a sticker to me. In any event, mine has the 'mismatched scales' problem others have reported. The package did not appear to have been opened before I received it but it may well have been, or perhaps someone received it before I did and checked right through the packaging before opening it to observe the issue. Mine is off about 1/2 degree which doesn't sound like much but it actually makes a difference on larger moldings and casings. I am contacting Starrett for help - I think that's better than just doing a replacement with the seller since if everyone starts doing this we will pass the bad ones around for years.

Question:	The 5, 10 and 15 degree tool have no notch to insert a blade into... which would be very important to me. How do you use this for those angles
Answer:	I guess you could stick the point of another size, e.g. 40-degree, into the notch of a larger size, e.g. 45/50/55-degree. Then stick your blade into the remaining opening in the notch. Not ideal but I guess they thought they couldn't machine that narrow of a notch on its own.

Answer:	After turning it on let it stabilize then push the on/off REF button momentarily a S should appear above the numbers and let it set for a second it should zero.

Answer:	Ii have never tried that. Maybe

Answer:	I don’t know, haven’t looked. But works great

Answer:	The one I received was defective, it kept turning on by itself.
Question:	How wide an angle, in degrees, does this measure
Answer:	I would just check calibration by placing it next to a "very good" bubble level and confirm they both read "Zero". Then I would place it on roofing triangle and check for 45 degrees. Once you find a perfect level surface that is pretty much permanent, I would use that surface for future calibration checks. This may not be the best or most accurate way of checking calibration, but minus calibration tools, I think in most cases this would suffice. Hopefully someone out there has a more accurate way of checking if that is required.

Question:	Can the reading taken by the device be retained after it is moved
Answer:	Easily. Write it down, or photograph it, when taking. Once you've changed the angle, you change the reading (moving).
Question:	Is the magnet strong? I have bought Empire Level 36 Magnetic Polycast Protractor and it does not hold on the conduit at all
Answer:	Just a guess but the material of the conduit may not work with a magnet. I'm a pipefitter and use the empire angle finder. It won't stay on our pipes but it stays on thd sguare when we are marking the pipe on all angles. I dont like the empire because of that little hanging thing is not accurate and sticks. So it's either Irwin or Johnson. With the spring loaded pointer.

Answer:	Unfortunately it’s unknown it was delivered in a plain white box with no markings. The instrument has no markings on it either and only came with English directions.

Answer:	It is plastic
Question:	can I use this to find roof pitch
Answer:	Sorta. It’ll spit out the answer in degrees. My non-house builder brain remembers that roofs are typically talked about in rise over run, like a 6/12 or something like that. You’ll have to convert if degrees aren’t what you need. Also, to increase your accuracy, I suggest laying a longer straight edge on the roof and put this thing on top of it before reading (level, 2x4, pipe, etc.) Good luck!
