| Answer: | I can’t answer that based on I’ve never done it.. however, I would guess that it would not keep the same adhesion properties. If you really want to keep the old countertop wood that’s under the laminate, I would get some heavy grit sand paper and remove all of the old adhesive. Then I would sand with a finer grit sand paper until it’s smooth. The smoother and cleaner the surface, the better adhesion you will get. (Maybe clean surface with mineral spirits and let it dry before applying the cement) |

Some contact papers come with a lower tack adhesive on one side. Peal of the protective coating and you can put it up and smooth out wrinkles. Standard wall paper paste is what works best, because you can move the paper laterally before it sets and smooth out wrinkles. |
