Answer:	Yes, it will automatically shut down to save energy if the button is not pressed within 5 minutes. But you can cancel this function manually.

Answer:	I have not had any issues with mine. Only had it for a couple of weeks, but every time I have needed it, it has worked.
Question:	The specs say indirect. Will it calculate the third leg of a triangle after measuring the first two legs

Question:	Is the Bluetooth open standards ? Will it work with other Apps or the Android SDK, or is it proprietary and only communicates with Bosch
Answer:	That depends on the size of the corner. The angle finder I have is 8.55 inches long and just under 1.4 inches wide when closed, so the corner must be large enough for the tool to fit inside. The pivot end has a radius slightly smaller than half the with of the two straight edges. You can make a mockup of the tool using the dimensions I have given here an the angle you need and see if it fits the corner you want.
Question:	will this measure height outdoors? ie from the ground to the top of a tree
Answer:	I have had to do a lot of atypical miters and how I do this is to cut one miter angle and them measure this angle to determine the other angle on the miter. This has worked well, but can difficult if you do not have the space needed to expand the Gem Red. Overall this is a remarkable tool that is very accurate. But I needed to buy a smaller digital angle finder to work in smaller spaces. After working with the digital, would never go back to non digital.
Question:	can this be set to measure in inches only and round to the nearest 1/8 or
Answer:	The measurements are etched, not printed.
Question:	What is the difference between the glm 50 c and the glm 50 cx
Answer:	It will continue counting beyond 360 if you keep rotating it. It goes forever.

Question:	Has the laser rangefinder been calibrated? I want to make sure it reads correctly

Question:	Power shuts off immediately after I measure before I have time to read it, or shut of immediately after power on. Is it defective
Answer:	You can also use the pythagorean theorem measuring. you measure to the top leaf from a point some distance from the base of the tree, and then the distance to the base of the tree, and the device can calculate the height of that point. it's a great aid for when you can't get a direct measurement.
Question:	Error
Answer:	To set to inches only, Hold Down the Function Key for 2-5 seconds until a circular menu pops up, then release the the function key. Select ft/m by pressing the function key. use the left (-) or right (+) arrow keys to move and highlight the 0" 1/32 selection. Press the Function Key to accept the change. You should now be able to measure in INCHES only (no feet) and fractions.
Question:	It says 20 groups data memory, how to use this in specific
Answer:	I purchased the GLM 50 CX at Lowes. when I opened the packaging the model number on the back of device is a GLM 50 C. Therefore the only difference is the packaging and a small decal inside that says "Belongs To:" On a positive note the display is great to read especially without my readers

Answer:	Not on the D2, 1/32" is the what it rounds to in fraction mode. The E7500i is the next model up with Bluetooth that can round to 1/32",1/16",1/8", or 1/4". The E7400x will also round to these fractions but it is not Bluetooth capable.
Question:	So far, i can't pair this with my ipad 4. the disto sktech app works fine, but i can't get roomplanner by chief architect to work. help
Answer:	Don't know about the pole - but I don't see why not though with 72" pole, it has to be really sturdy (and doesn't bend).

Answer:	No, you can not use D2 to measure water, glass

Answer:	I tried to use it for that once and it didn't work out to well. I ended up measuring the distance to the ceiling in order to get it straight. Ultimatelyy when the eye falls on it it compares it to a straight line next to it which is usually the ceiling, making the ceiling a great guide to keep pictures straight

Question:	can this be used to measure the height of a tree
Answer:	The E7100i does not "push" the Bluetooth data out, the software has to be specifically written for this model of Disto to "pull' the data off. I am not able to find any information on the chief architect website that indicates this version of room planner has this capability. I would contact Chief Architect to find out. It may work with some Bluetooth Disto models and not others.
Question:	Can this be used for outside measurements in broad daylight
Answer:	No for full range but about 50~60 ft.It depends on the sun light, and finding laser beam is another issue,If you are looking for outdoor, I will suggest E7500i it equipped with camera inside.
Question:	How to change it from meters to ft
Answer:	This model does not have any triangulation capabilities. The Disto D2 and E7300 both have this capability, as well as all the other current model Disto products, but the E7100 does not.

Question:	Can you use this to measure windows for blinds
Answer:	The rangefinder has been calibrated by the factory. The user can turn on/off the feature that includes the length of the device itself in the displayed measurement for making interior measurements. I would use this device for estimating materials but not for cutting materials for length.
Question:	Does the laser work in dusty conditions outside
Answer:	Mine does not. Check your battery. Mine takes a reading and displays the measurement, turning itself off. If you keep the power key pressed for too long, it will also turn off. I hope it's nothing more than a battery issue. It took me a little bit of playing with to understand the design logic.
Question:	how do you connect the hand strap to the unit
