Answer: We modified the light fixture so that the light shown in the middle of the shade rather than to one side. We took off the fixture from the wall base, drilled a new hole, then reattached the fixture. Looks much better now. Also, when in the off position, the shade does not show gray as in the pictures. It isn't as brown, but certainly not the gray as shown.

Answer: The globes are white, so the the brightness would be determined by the type of bulb you put in. We used an led, daylight bulb and it's very bright.
Question: Is the light 8" wide or 8" high
Answer: I am assuming that the fixture is installed with the attachment screws at the top and at the bottom of the mounting plate. The weight of the fixture is above the attachment plate. So the downward force will cause the plate to gap off the wall if the round electrical box is not securely installed. A piece of sheet metal about 1/2" wide and about 2" long that is bent to a 90 degree to slip behind the plaster or dry wall and bend over the top edge of the electrical box. This should stop the box from bending at a angle. Replace the round plate and tighten the top fixture mounting screw.
Question: can it be adjusted to plug in
Answer: If you're asking if the lights can be mounted so the lights can be pointed downward, the answer is yes - infact, that's the way I did it myself.
