Question:	Does it work like a motion sensor and does it only light up when someone walks by the light? I am looking for a sensor
Answer:	No it does not work like a motion sensor. It does have a light sensor so if the lights in the room are on the nightlight will turn off. The nightlight will also go off if the sensor is blocked by people walking by it. I would really like to find a nightlight that would only come on when you are near it.
Question:	How much light does it need to turn on? If it is away from a window and next to a book case, will it be on all day
Answer:	This is a difficult question to answer, but I'll try. Since I can't tell you exactly how many lumens it takes to turn on and off, I'll give you my anecdotal answer. I bought two 2-packs of these and love them. They have a variable light output, which means that if it's completely dark, they run 100 percent and give off a nice amount of light. If it's dark, but with some light hitting the sensor, it will still be on but output less light. I have one that's in a rather dark hallway that only turns off in the middle of the day. So to answer your question, it depends on how far from the window, and how dark the shadow of the book case is. But remember this: These are LED nightlights that use an incredibly tiny amount of energy. I'd be willing to leave these on all day. Even if they ran 24/7, you're talking about a few cents worth of power each WEEK for the total extra energy use. The only way to tell if they'll be on all day (without rather inconvenient light monitoring tools, which is ridiculous) is to buy a set, plug them in, and see what they do. If they end up not working the way you'd like, return them to Amazon. For the price, they're fantastic and use very little power.
Question:	Is the picture of the lit product accurate? It puts out a warm(ish) white light
Answer:	Yes the picture is accurate. It's a small nightlight. The light is quite bright white but still works well for in the baby's room.
Question:	Does it light up the room too much? I'm afraid it will be too bright for baby to fall asleep. We have a small nursery
Answer:	I don't consider it to be too bright. It casts a lot of light behind and up the wall it's plugged into, but just a soft glow away from the wall. It's in our three year old's room after going his first two years with just a very dim blue light, and it doesn't bother him at all. You mentioned a small nursery; our room in about 10ft X 12ft.

Answer:	There are I believe 11 preset sounds. Unfortunately, a campfire is not one of them. You can not load any new sounds. I use the wind sounds a lot more like ocean waves and although that is another sound I like the wind sound better. I do have to say though that I absolutely love this machine. My daughter sleeps so much better with it. I love that you can preset it to go on and off when you want it to.
Question:	Does there have to be 1 min. between programs? I would like for it to change from red (sleep) to green (wake) without turning off in between
Answer:	Great question! If there is any overlap, the second program will override the first. For example, if your bedtime program runs until 8:05am, and your morning program is set to start at 8:00am... your Rest will switch from bedtime to morning at 8:00am. Question:	I'm interested in getting 2 - for our 3 year old son & our baby's nursery. How does the app work with 2 units? Can they be programmed independantly
Answer:	Yes each device is managed separately in the Hatch app, really easy/inuitive. I actually have one for my toddler and newborn too - it's the only sound machine out there that I came across that you can program by time!:)
Question:	Will my kid override me? How limited can his options be from inside his room? Can he change it after one of my programs begins
Answer:	It is possible to control the light and sound settings directly from the device, BUT in the newest app update they added a "Toddler Lock" feature that fixes this problem. During program run-times you can disable all controls on the device itself, so our kids can't override our programs. It's been very helpful for us.

Answer:	If you don't mind, I'll give you the long answer. It runs on 4 C batteries, so they keep the light bright for about a month ( having it go on about twice each night). It is certainly "bright enough" . You can do normal functions with the light it gives off; I wouldn't read a book, but, you can read instructions, or, change a diaper, or simply get to the bathroom yourself. THE LIGHT STAYS ON FOR ABOUT 3 MINUTES. It is sensitive, if you are still busy, just wave your hand. If you get back in the bed, it will go off shortly. It's a good product.
