I used mine on 10" fluted, round, exterior columns and had to trim some of the material on either side to fit them. And yes, the devices are pre-wired. They have pigtails.

Answer:	The on/off switch is a push button, so unless it is dark and the solar panel is charged, you can't determine on or off. Otherwise, easy.

Answer:	They appear to be made of a strong plastic, it would take a good deal of force to shatter them. Mine are always outside and all work perfectly for 4-8 hours into the night, depending on sunlight that day.

How to charge the solar panel?

1. The solar lights are not fully charged upon arrival. Please put them under the sun for 2 days to get fully charged before first use.
2. The solar panel is charging only when the switch is turn on.

How to check the solar panel is ON?

• Leave the solar panel in the sun for an hour and then cover the solar panel completely. If the lights come on, the button is in the “ON” position
• If not, push in the button once again and put the solar panel in the sun for another hour. Cover the solar panel completely again and it should light up.

Question:	Where is the on/off switch for this lantern
Answer:	Just disassembled mine to make the lens "frosty" instead of clear (keep from burning my retinas!). There's a microswitch on top of the battery compartment. A long spring connected to the LED array presses against the switch to turn it off--extending obviously releases the switch. The battery compartment cover can be installed in 4 positions (rotating 90 degrees between). If not in the correct one of the 4, the spring would never press the normally-closed switch (opening the circuit and turning off the light). If your doesn't turn off, I'd suspect wrong orientation of the cover plate or that the spring has fallen off. Either would be a pretty simple fix. Curiously, I also found the long center screw was installed upside down. The bottom end plastic is shaped to capture the nut. It made initially disassembly slightly more difficult (you'll need a 7mm socket or open-ended wrench).

Answer:	Yes, it is possible to connect two strands of Helius brand solar string lights together but please keep in mind we cannot guarantee that they are connectable with other brands. It is also important to note that running two strands off of one solar panel will reduce the hours of operation per full charge to half that compared to using a single strand. It is recommended to use the included solar panel with each strand individually to get optimal results.

Answer:	The solar panel can be installed in the ground using the ground spike or in a variety of places using the wall mount. It can be installed anywhere and at any angle and can swivel up and down for optimal positioning towards the sun. It is most ideal to place it in a position in which it will receive 6 hrs of direct sunlight each day. This will ensure that the battery remains fully charged. Keep the button on the back of the solar panel in the "on" position and it will charge automatically during the day and the lights will turn on automatically at night. There are light sensors built into the solar panel that allow the string lights to turn off when there is sunlight and turn back on when it is dark. If you need to test or use the lights during the daytime simply cover the solar panel with something to block the light and trick the sensors into thinking it is night.
