| Answer: | No these are not the same thing. If you're just looking for a string light that resembles your M5 to display next to each other, then yes these are the same size (mini) and color (warm). But the M5 have a frosted finish and are brighter. If you're trying to find replacement bulbs (ie, pull bulbs out of the GE and put into your M5), then this will cause problems, possibly a cascade failure in your M5 string. The voltage is different, and the M5 are superbright whereas the GE are normal brightness. |

| Answer: | That is NOT the way to determine replacement bulbs. First determine the type/size (these are incandescent mini). If that's a match, you must know the voltage. Voltage is ONLY determined by how many bulbs per string, you cannot tell by looking at it, by size/diameter, etc. Size will vary slightly by manufacturer, but you need the correct voltage or it will not work. So get an approximation of how many bulbs/strings on your device (common are 35 or 50 bulbs per string). ie, a string of 50 bulbs will be 2.5 volt bulbs. |
