Answer:	We leave the switch on all the time and let the built-in dusk to dawn sensor turn them on and off. Ours are staying lit well past midnight. We've found that the ones that get uninterrupted sunshine all day come on noticeably brighter and stay lit much longer than the ones that get some shade during the day.
