Answer:	Yes, solar power only is dc switch setting. Note: I have noticed that when plugged into the solar charger and set to dc. The light automatically comes on when it gets dark. So to keep this from draining battery I set to off. It will still charge. It just won't come on till I turn it on. Then you can use remote. Remote will not work with switch in off position.

Probably a bit of water would be fine, but total immersion could be a problem. I LOVE our Luci's.
