I suggest you can use a ladder to place it about 12-18 feet from the flag with the solar panel facing south for maximum exposure. You can adjust the height that in the high brightness setting would meet your needs. Also hope our local customers can give more results about the lighting height：）

The heating element has suction cups with spacers to hold it in place and prevent it from touching the reservoir. If the unit is on and the water level is low it may just stay on if the temperature probe senses it is cooler than the set level. If the probe senses it is warmer the heating element will turn off. We have used these in ebb & flow systems with success, just make sure the heating element is not in contact with anything besides water & air.

Motion Activated

The outdoor security light uses a PIR motion sensor and activates when it detects motion within 30 feet to provide automatic security lighting. The battery operated spotlight will turn off 20 seconds after the motion has stopped to prolong battery life.

Wireless Installation

Install the High Performance LED Outdoor Security Light anywhere light is needed, regardless of electrical wiring. Because the wireless LED spotlight operates on 4 D-cell batteries, it can be installed almost anywhere including garages, doorways, decks, porches, sheds, fences and trees. Installation takes about 5 minutes with the included screws.
