Answer:	No. It is self contained. You charge the internal battery with a small cable. You can tell when it is fully charged. I usually charge it once a week depending on how much I use it. Maybe you could leave the charging cable plugged in--I have not tried using it that way. But there is NO timer.

Answer:	I've used mine a good week or more before having to recharge. I use it about an hour in the morning and half hour to an hour at night. If you use it more than that it may not last as long.
