Answer:	I would call it an antiqued silver or pewter, similar to an antique bronze, but leaning more to the silver side of that. it is definitely not black. With that said, I am not a fan of silver either, but this lamp is absolutely beautiful. If you purchase, you will not be disappointed.

Answer:	I didnt have instructions either, but I used a small hot glue gun and installed the branches first and wrapped the wire around them. The butterflies I glued afterward randomly in the globe. It was very easy and it looks great.
