Answer:	Yes I use mine on a counter without any problem
Question:	The shade color says gold but looks red or brown. Can anyone give a correct color for shade? Thanks
Answer:	Mine gave off the most horrible toxic electrical burning odor I've ever experienced. It stank up my whole apartment and I had to unplug it before I could even finish the "burn in". Unfortunately I was already passed the return time and couldn't return my unit.
Question:	What is the height of this lamp and also what is it's width at the widest
Answer:	I just did a test and it works perfectly. I made coffee, let the hot plate cool, then I turned it on to setting #1. There is a light that shows that the hot plate has reached the selected temperature... It's there, I left the coffee pot on the hot plate for 10 minutes... and it's fine.
