Answer:	Any basic dc 12v power adapter will work. I’m cutting strips down for projects so I use a 12v 1a power adapter.

Answer:	i don't know what those others are talkng about, but clearly they have no idea about home automation. yes, you can use this with no load to control other smart device though programing. you will obviously still need power, neutral , and ground to power the switch itself. i've done "cheater 3ways" like this by installing two wifi switches and programing them in the app to turn each other on/off when one toggles. these type of things are really doing a good job of filling the gap between dumb homes, and full blown installs with control4/crestron, etc..
