Answer:	I get just a little over 12 inches. About 12.3 inches. My base is not completely tight to the ceiling due to my electrical box. If it was tight, it would be 12 inches.

Answer:	Yes it takes the candelabra bulbs which I don't like. So I went to the local Homedepot and picked up a after market lighting kit that took standard bulbs. It just replaces the lighting kit it comes with. Same three lights as before but now I can use standard LED bulbs!!

Answer:	Yes it does, however it has a transmitter that needs to be installed. Which we did not do, because ours is on a dimmer switch.

Answer:	I do not believe so. Mine came with a 6 inch rod (as shown in the picture). You would need to search for "ceiling hugger" fans for a flush mount.
