Question: I purchased 3 of these and a 120v-12v 5amp transformer. Installed and they worked great for about 3 hours, but then went out. Overheating
Answer: You are slightly above the limit for a 5 amp transformer. You should not use more then 80 percent of its rating. I would get a larger transformer. 20 watt at 12 volts is 1.6 amps

Answer: No. It’s clear glass
Question: Can put a standard plug on the end and plug it into an outlet
Answer: No. These are 12 volt bulbs. The bulb would burn out immediatly.
Question: When recess mounting, do these puck lights have compression tabs that hold fixture in place
Answer: Yes. As long as you drill the hole per manufacturer's specs, it will install easily and stay in place.
