Answer:	Great question. Yes you can! As long as you have a cell phone signal and/or WiFi for your phone and the lights are connected to your home WiFi. I have my lights set up to turn off/on when I leave/arrive at home (using the free app Stringify), but occasionally check on the LIFX app just to make sure they were turned off. If they were not, I can turn them off with my phone from anywhere.

Answer:	I used one on mine. However it was not a recessed socket. Works great. Mine hung down just enough to clear my garage door opener. If you have a garage door opener you will want to measure to see what size extender you need.

Answer:	Amazon does a poor job of describing the difference between the Regular and Deluxe models. I had to go to a 3rd party website for more information. The Regular model is 4000 lumens while the Deluxe model is 5500 lumens. The Deluxe model is brighter.
