Answer:	18" X 10" X 4" (bulb hangs about 3" below level of reflector, and there is a half inch lip for hanging hardware that actually makes it 4.5").
Question:	what cfl do you recommend for flowering
Answer:	You MUST use a bulb with a lot of red in it. If you use cfl's, stick with warm white (sometimes called soft white). The important thing to look at is the color temperature. For flowering you want a 2700K bulb. No higher than 3000K. Avoid middle of the road spectrums altogether. Anything with "daylight" on it probably won't work for flowering OR vegging. Just remember that vegging is blue (5500K or higher) and flowering is red (3000K or lower).
Question:	Does it take Metal Halide bulbs
Answer:	you need a ballast so absolutely not a metal halide bulb has the same mogul bas as the fluorescent so it would fit in this fixture but do not do it, it will not work once again metal halides and sodiums need a ballast and this does not have one
Question:	will this make my plants bud
Answer:	Twelve continuous hours of dark in every 24 hour cycle is what will make your plants bud. They will flower under this bulb, but it's more geared towards vegging. You want to use the FLD125 2700K for flowering. I couldn't find the wing with a 2700K bulb, or even the wing alone, so I just took the 6500K bulb out for use in my vegging section (without a wing) and put in a 2700K bulb in my flowering section. I have some seriously happy girls. The wing is well-made and worth every penny. (especially if you're graduating from aluminum foil)Happy growing! Dan

Answer:	I set Bell Peppers (Green, Orange, Red, Purple), Banana Peppers, Egg Plant, Tomatoes (Brandywine and Yellow Cherry), Broccoli. They all turned out great, as did herbs Peppermint, oregano, and Basil. The yeild was one of the best we've ever had.Flowers: Marigold (Inca and French), Snapdragon, Pansy, Petunia set great. Now the bad news. Impatients, cucumbria (cucumber, watermelon, pumpkin, et al), Chives grew under the light, with brilliant artifically-like bright green leaves. When set out to thin, however, they blighted and died in true sunlight.So I would recommend staying with woody syem plants and avoiding soft stem, since they struggle with setting to real sun. Also, these lights need a goldilocks Location. Further than 6in from the plants (in any direction) the seedlings will stretch. Too close, within 3ins, and they will burn. So you have to adjust often and plant aggressive and petite growers separately. For a classic 72-cell greenhouse kit, you will need 3 lights, center, and left and right so no plants stretch.
Question:	How far away from my house plants should I place the lamp to keep it from burning the leaves
Answer:	Probably depends on how high they get. I was growing ferns and had the lights about 3 feet away they grew maybe a foot more so far and no burning.
Question:	Is there really a difference between this and a regular incandescent light bulb? I have read that regular incandescent bulbs are full spectrum
Answer:	regular bulbs are not full spectrum unless its stated on the package. these are good though i ordered one a few months ago and with about 6-8 hours of use every day its still going.
Question:	with this help treat SAD condition? what are the lumens
Answer:	I'm afraid I can't answer either question, since I don't know exactly what spectrum is needed to treat SAD. Nor do I know the lumens of the bulb. I do know, though, that I find it startling to look over in that direction (where the plants are) at night, because it seems as if the sun was out. Sometimes if I'm working beside that bulb I lose track of time and have no idea that the evening is so advanced because the light, well, it seems like daylight. Good luck!

Answer:	15 watts isn't a big difference but I'm pretty sure they are 85 watts. The problem I had was that they didn't last very long. 2 out of 3 burned out within 2 months. Very bright and great while they lasted.

Answer:	I think it's only a hazard if flammables are very close or even in contact. Good to have anything electrical that makes heat the bulb well isolated from stuff that can burn. I use your standard off the shelf daylight CFL from the home store, and at a more realistic affordable price. Had two inside a foil lined box on opposite sides facing each other. Make sure that any exposed bulb thread or the socket itself is insulated from the foil lining. My setup started the tomato plants just fine. Some seeds did not sprout but that can happen in any setup.I have had CFLs fail, but never by exploding !
