Question:	Does it require professional installation? I have no idea what goes on under my sink
Answer:	The system is packaged with the idea of do it yourself so you don't have to get professional help. Many of our customers were able to install it themselves by following the very comprehensive installation manual that we include in the package. We even have a video on youtube that shows how to install our system step by step. However, if you are not comfortable installing the system, any local plumber should have no trouble installing it for you in an hour or so at most.
Question:	Can I hook it up to the ice maker on my fridge and use the included water faucet
Answer:	Our system can be hooked up to the ice-maker on the fridge with proper connections. It can either be tee off so that it sends water to both the included faucet and the ice-maker or to the ice-maker or our included faucet by itself.
Question:	How often do the filters need replacing and what is the cost
Answer:	I use a 1-3-5 year schedule and my filter works as well now as the day I installed it: * Every year I replace the first three stages or the large vertical filters @$30-$50 if purchased separately * Every three years I replace the fifth stage filter, horizontal filter on the top @$20-$30 if purchased separately * Every five years I replace the fourth stage reverse osmosis filter @$30-$40 if purchased separately You can usually get a discount and get all five stages for @$125-$135. If you try to save money and not replace your filters as scheduled, you will probably foul up the stages behind it even faster. For example, if you try to save money by not replacing the first three filter stages you will end up having to replace stages four and five way more often. Answer:	Need clarity. When you say "open the tap" Is your filter connected to an "angle stop" similar to the hot and cold stops underneath your sink? Or do you mean when you turn on your kitchen faucet it makes noise?

Answer:	No difference same filter I never could understand why that is either SO I just buy the kit also when I change the filter I could never get it to work right So I found that on the mounting,, bracket there is a small button that shuts off the water so you can change the filter without turning off the water WELL that most of the time will break off therefore when you put the new filter it does not turn on the water and that's why I buy the complete rig and toss the old old one at a lesser price yeah!!! and I don't know why it's cheaper but it works for me . I know this took a while but I hope it helps you.

Answer:	If by 'use it' you mean 'make it drinkable', then no; the LifeStraw won't remove the salt that makes sea water unsafe to drink. So, it's probably not the ideal solution for your yacht's emergency lifeboat kit. If you're boating on freshwater rivers or in swamps, however, it should remove all the particulate crud in that water, making it drinkable.There are personal desalination/emergency hydration kits available (HTI's SeaPack, for example, is available on Amazon) that can be used to make sea water drinkable. Try a web or Amazon search for 'personal desalination' and you should be able to find them. You might also want to consider an emergency solar water still to produce purified, desalinated water.
Question:	I am a bit confused... Does the shelf life of 5 years begin after first use? Or 5 years even if unused? Does it have a manufactured date on it? If we don't use them do we need to replace them every 5 years
Answer:	There's actually no longer a shelf life listed. It was initially 3 years, then 5 years, and now Vestergaard of Switzerland (the manufacturer) has removed the notice completely. They were designed for use in African countries where the constant hot sun degrades any plastic, and the shelf life notice was created in case some users left them outside for years in the sun. Turns out it wasn't much of an issue to worry about, so the shelf life notice has been lifted. You can use it, store it, and use it again without problem. Just be sure it's totally dry inside before storing - in fact you can store it uncapped to be sure.

Here are some details (apparently the Lifestraw has a .2 micron microfilter):•A microfiltration filter has a pore size of approximately 0.1 micron (pore size ranges vary by filter from 0.05 micron to 5 micron);•Microfiltration has a very high effectiveness in removing protozoa (for example, Cryptosporidium, Giardia);•Microfiltration has a moderate effectiveness in removing bacteria (for example, Campylobacter, Salmonella, Shigella, E. coli);•Microfiltration is not effective in removing viruses (for example, Enteric, Hepatitis A, Norovirus, Rotavirus);•Microfiltration is not effective in removing chemicals.
Question:	Odd question, but its on my mind. If i pee into a bowl, and use the filter on that, will it taste like water or pee
Answer:	Salt and urea, along with various other substances your body is trying to eliminate, will remain in the filtered urine so it will still taste like pee (whatever that tastes like.) In a desperate survival situation, many people have resorted to drinking their urine. That is ok up to a point. As your dehydration increases, your urine will become increasingly concentrated (dark and even viscous.) It's best to drink urine early in your survival situation since it will be less concentrated and consequently less toxic. That way you are conserving what water you do have longer. Of course, most people will completely exhaust their water supply before they resort to drinking urine. However, drinking highly concentrated urine is probably worse than not drinking it at all. Also, urine is actually sterile inside your bladder but not as it flows through your urethra. Happy drinking!

Question:	Just discovered I have pex piping.. How do I proceed
Answer:	PEX is just a supply line. It is an excellent product and would have no affect on using this filter system since all connections are made after the shut off valves under the sink. Now if you choose to put a filter inline and not at the valve, then special PEX brass connectors will be needed along with a PEX tool for installation.
Question:	How often do you need to change the filter
Answer:	Hi dear customer, The filtration capacity for Chlorine is 5000G, and filtration life for LEAD is 1000G, so the filter life can be 1-3 years depend on your daily usage and it can even be 3 years, but we won’t suggest you do the cartridge change that long. As you know the filtration performance is dropping gradually when time goes by, so the longer time you use, the less good water you get. The best time is 1 year or less, the filter cartridge maintenance is much cheaper than the other brands, so it will still save you a lot of money even you change often. Frizzlife suggest no matter what brand of water filtration you will get, do not use that for over 3 years not changing the cartridge, the performance of filtering will be very very low.

Answer:	I haven't tried freezing them but I bet it would work best if you took the cap off to do so. There is not too much room in the pouch for expansion. I think the fruit ones taste much better to adults than the vegetable ones.
Question:	after running initial 5 minutes, the water comes through filter still cloudy when the water from tap is not cloudy, why
Answer:	The concentrate it has is lemon juice concentrate. My feeling is that it probably doesn't contain very much lemon juice, it's added just to keep it from going bad. Like when I put lemon juice on cut apples to keep them from going brown. I would rather have the lemon juice than chemicals. These do have 14g of sugar BUT the average banana also has 14g of sugar so that is where I'm guessing the sugar is coming from in these. I'd also rather have natural sugars from fruits than artificial or added sugars. Hope this helps! My only dislike on these is there size. My two year old hardly ever finishes one if these but she finishes other brands that are smaller.

Answer:	According to the product description its capacity is "30 sheets." I measured our office paper and that's about 4mm, or about 1/8 of an inch. The description I found of the replacement cutting head for the 440 said that it cuts up to 7 sheets of paper at a time, so it might require 4 passes.
Question:	Does this remove chlorine
Answer:	While there is no guide to show where the blade is going to cut, on the rolling style trimmers it is very easy to see where the cut will be. It is just beyond the clear plastic clamp that the paper slides under. You can roll the cutting head slightly toward your material and see where that exact cut will be.

Installation Step 1

Remove the aerator if the faucet has one, and determine if your faucet has inner threads or outer threads.

Installation Step 2

For faucets with internal threads, use the metal adapter and 2 sealing washers to connect the diverter valve to the faucet. For faucets with external threads, place the sealing washer into the diverter valve of the filter and connect to the faucet.

Installation Step 3

Turn the diverter handle in line with the connector for regular tap water. Turn the diverter handle perpendicular to the connector for filtered water.

Installation Step 4

To flush out the loose carbon, keep the faucet on for a couple of minutes until the filtered water runs clear.
