The harder the water, the greater amount of scale buildup occurs, and the sooner the filters get clogged.

It is recommended that you install this WGB21B series whole house system after your water softener to achieve optimal performance if you have hard water.

Answer:	The only cleaning that can be done is the back flush,weather it be by auto or manual back flush. The default back flush is set for once a week around 1AM. for about 3-4 min. You can press the clean button to start a cycle.or youn can press program and change the frequency of back flushes along with the day and time you want it to cycle.

Answer:	I have the exact same problem and this completely fixed our issue. We didn't want to drink the water because of the Sulphur smell and taste, but as soon as we installed this we couldn't taste it anymore. We did have a cheap sediment filter before this because our water had a good amount of sediment and rust. The pre-filter was probably 25-30 microns for most of the time, so consider that. We've been using ours for probably 6 or 7 years and haven't touched it, and the water is still great. I know others said it wouldn't remove the smell and taste, but it worked and is still working wonders for us.

Q: With this whole house system, do I still need to install a water softener if my water is very hard?

A: Yes, a water softener is needed if your source water has a high level of hardness, usually with TDS higher than 700 PPM. Hard water can reduce the lifespan of whole house water filter cartridges. The harder the water, the greater amount of scale buildup occurs, and the sooner the filters get clogged.

This whole house water filter can remove up to 95% of sediment, chlorine, rust, pesticides, herbicides, industrial solvents, VOCs, and various other contaminants that a regular water softener can't, although it does not soften your water. It is recommended that you install this WGB32B series whole house system after your water softener to achieve optimal performance if you have hard water.

To determine which product best suits your needs, it is recommended that you get a professional water test done prior to purchase to identify the main issue of your source water.

Answer:	I am on city water, we get lots of calcium scale. So I am using a calcium filter right after the meter (to keep scale out of all my pipes) then a carbon under sink filter for taste. I don't care if my boiler or toilet water tastes good, but want better taste out of the sink, dishwasher, ect.

Answer:	If you use the right Carbon filter with this housing, it will reduce lead. As sold here, it will not. In a water purification system for drinking water, you would want one prefilter stage (like this) and at least one carbon filter stage (this housing with a good carbon filter would work). Your flow rate, intended use, and other factors will affect which system you should choose. This is sold as a whole-house filter, not a drinking water system.

Answer:	Any standard 10" replacement cartridge can be used with this filter housing. The "Frequently Bought Together" section has a sample of filters available. I use a sentiment cartridge ahead of a charcoal cartridge (in 2 separate filter housings) to remove particulates and odors from my water. Works very well.

Answer:	I have had the filter for some time, but have never seen any issues with flow (even when filter is ready to be changed). We are on a well with pressure range of 45 to 65 psi.

Answer:	It depends on the cartridge you choose. The flow rate of the housing isn't a big deal, it's the cartridge that does the filtering and different types of cartridges filter faster/slower for bigger/smaller particles.
Question:	Can this be mounted horizontally
Answer:	It should be mounted as depicted. It comes with a steel bracket, and needs to be attached to a wall or studs. I attached my bracket to a 4 ft 2x6, which in turn was attached to a stud in the wall behind. It would certainly still function if rotated 90 degrees, but you'd spill out a half gallon of water at each filter change, and any goo would collect on the bottom side of the filter. If needed, add some elbows in your plumbing to mount as shown.

Answer:	10" x 5" is the size of the filter. Search Amazon for "GXWH40L replacement filter" and several options for filters are provided. The lower the micron size you choose, the finer the sediment particles are filtered out of your water. For example, a 5 micron filter catches more than a 25 micron filter.

Answer:	Not sure, the water must be sanitized before it goes into this system, you’d need to check that first. But the sulfur smell would be filtered out. In an RV you would have to build a box for the Filtration System & run your Parks water to it first, then connect it to your RV, not sure you could install it in you RV. Answer:	To filter Chromium-6 for whole house we recommend using an ion-exchange system like the WS-EM-32, WS-EM-48 or WS-EM-64 Softener Systems. The best method to remove Chromium-6 is through Reverse Osmosis, and as Chromium-6 is harmful when digested, we recommend this method. The best RO systems we can recommend are the RO-550-T4 (search for: B079T25224) or the RO-5100-T4 (search for: B079NGPL1P) RO systems if you want true Chromium-6 filtration. The types of contaminants typically found in a private well water supply are sediment, iron, and hardness minerals, but can vary from nuisance contaminants to toxic or damaging.

With its KDF85/catalytic carbon filter, the HMF2SMGCC is great for city water with chloramines or chlorine. (Contact your water provider to learn if your city uses chloramines.) For city water without chloramines, use model HMF2SDGC (which treats chlorine, but not chloramines).

Depending on the size of your house and family your water flow rate requirements may range from 15 to 40 GPM.
