Answer:	Well, I had the same issue. But I found the solution —> DONT let the water boil all the way down. Because everything left behind are the chemicals left over and it gets boiled over & distilled and ruins the taste of the rest of the water. So boil till you have about an inch or 1/2 inch left of water. Then taste it and you’ll taste the difference.

Answer:	It has an automatic shut off from a thermal switch. Depending on what is in each person's water, you will have different levels of residue in the boil chamber when the cycle is finished. However, the interior is still moist when finished so they are not baked on. The unit comes with a bottle of residue cleaner to assist with cleaning.

Answer:	I wrote to the company and they said that all parts for the distiller can be purchased. I'm not sure I would recommend working on the distiller, though. I worked on 2 Waterwise model 4000 distillers and they were a bit tricky to work on. After a lot of use, these Waterwise distillers needed new heat transfer paste (the paste dries up sooner or later) and I had two fuses blow after quite a bit of use. What I notice to far is that, at least externally, the Megahome distiller has a much better design and construction than the Waterwise distiller. I haven't had the Megahome distiller apart yet.

Answer:	no, the little charcoal filters is for improvement of taste and smell only. the evaporation process is filtration for the water, all the sediments will be left at the bottom of the pot and you'll need to wash that out and scrub the bottom between batches. Btw, don't know how much water you need but it cost about 50 cents in electricity, 5hrs average, to make a batch. A gallon at the grocery store is usually about $1.15 so if you spend $80 on the unit you need to make 160 gallons. $80 will buy you about 70 gallons at the store hassle free

Answer:	Remember the distilled water run through the charcoal filter after the distillation process is complete. It may absorb some trace materials. Just saying. I replace mine after 5-6 gallons. Is that right? I can't tell. The filters give no indication at that point (we have relatively clean water to start with). No doubt I would swap them out if the water was dirtier. But it's generally intuition.

Answer:	October 26, 2018. I just received it today and the collection container is GLASS. I think they got the message with all of the complaints about the smelly plastic.
Question:	What are the dimensions of this unit including lower tank
Answer:	No, you turn it on and it starts heating the water; it does not have a preheating cycle like an oven. Otherwise, you can use water from the hot water tap if you want “preheated” water; that’s totally acceptable per the instructions even.
Question:	How hot does this unit get? I am concerned about children and it ruining the counter
Answer:	Only 1/4 cup of white vinegar is needed. Soak it for a while, reach in and spread some of the vinegar up the sides of the pot to get it all clean. No heating required for cleaning, let the vinegar do the work. Letting it soak dissolves the hard residue into slime that rinses clean easily with only cold water. I can go 4 gallons before cleaning, depends on how much minerals in your water.

Answer:	I just ran my distiller (Pure Water) today and measured the electricity usage from the outlet. The unit ran for 3 1/2 hours and made a little over a half-gallon. The unit consumed 2.4 kwh of electricity during the 3 1/2 hours. At my current So Calif rates of $.25/kwh, it cost about $0.60. Considering that equals about $1.20/gallon, I can buy distilled water at my local grocery store for $0.89 per gallon. So, I will use this machine as "backup" only and buy my distilled water at the grocery store.
