Answer:	They fit through the hole on luggage and I am not sure about or aware of holes on electrical appliances.

Answer:	I presume you mean whether the lock indicates whether TSA opened it. The lock will not indicate whether TSA opened it, but usually TSA leaves a note inside the suitcase that they open.

Answer:	The exterior of the shackle is about 7/8 inch and interior loop is 5/8 inch and four pins on the inside. It goes through the hole in the luggage pull to secure the luggage under TSA approval and access.

Answer:	The shank diameter on my such locks is 1/16 or an inch, small enough to go through the holes on the luggage pulls and that on my camera cases. They could be cut by people with a bolt cutter by deter the efforts of casual thieves looking for an easy opportunity. Answer:	Hi,The actual lock is 7/8 inch wide but the important part is the loop that goes thru the holes in the zippers;it measures 9/16 inch. I can tell you that we just returned from a 14 day cruise and land tour in Alaska and used 4 of these locks on 2 large checked in luggage and 2 pieces of carryons and had no problems with the locks or them fitting thru the zipper holes. I also used 2 Prestolock combination locks on my camera bag and a backpack with no problems. They are more expensive and have the same width loops but the loops are longer(15/16 inch). Answer:	The brass body is 22mm from either top to bottom or left to right. From the bottom of the brass body to the top of the loop while its closed it is 38mm. Hope it helps. They did their work while I used them on a recent trip.
Question:	difference between brass key lock or corded combination locks
Answer:	These brass key locks are also able to be opened by TSA, and they are significantly cheaper than the combination locks. 4 of these cost 8 to 12 dollars. The combination locks are about 8 dollars each....more if you get the ones that have an indicator that tells you if your luggage has been opened by TSA. If you want that, then go with the combination locks...but if TSA opens your bags, they have to place a ticket/piece of paper inside, stating that they opened your luggage, why they did it, etc... I frequently spend time in Alaska, and always take a side arm with me... When you place a side arm in your checked luggage, it has to be in an appropriate lock box, and TSA has to inspect it (in your presence) before you board the plane....and they give you a ticket, that they place on top of your lock box, stating it has been checked. When I got home, i found a notice from TSA, saying that they checked my bags again, were "forced" to break into the lock box (they broke it, in other words...and it was a TSA accessable box) and that I had to recourse for seeking compensation for my losses. They did everything wrong, I used/bought a lock box that was supposedly accessible to them and still they destroyed my hand gun lock box and dont replace it. The point? It's good to use the TSA approved/accessable locks, but dont waste a fortune on them, because they still do stupid stuff and use the "we're trying to protect you" as the ultimate excuse for anything they do wrong. It's just normal government lack of accountability....frustrating, but impossible to fight. I just dont want to see anyone spend crazy amounts of money on locks, when ultimately they may destroy them anyway. Both can be opened by TSA (keyed or combination), if you buy the correct ones, of course....so both provide the same protection. 4 keyed for 8 to 12 dollars vs. 2 combination locks for double the price or more. You decide...

Then, use an ink pen, and press down the small metal indention on the side while simultaneously turning the numbers to your new combination.
