Answer:	I am a retired rural carrier for the postal service and i don't see any reason why it wouldn't be o.k. It is a very nice mailbox, that is strong , water tight, has a flag ,and a door that closes nicely. All you need to do is put it on a nice post at the correct height. put your house numbers on it, and you'll have the nicest looking mailbox in the neighborhood. To be sure ,you might want to check with your local postmaster.

Answer:	They provide 4 expando bolts that are to be placed in concrete. If you already have concrete you will need to drill holes for the bolts, otherwise you will have to mix concrete and poor it into a form and place the bolts while concrete is still muddy!NOTE: The mail box does not have a flag or opening to accommodate outgoing mail!

Answer:	I don’t think wind will be a problem with either the flag or the door locking. They are fairly sturdy and don’t flop around.

Question:	How many years can hold up to full sun & freezing weather
Answer:	Yes, you can paint another color. The post is plastic so make sure to use a paint specifically designed for plastic.
Question:	what are the measurements
Answer:	We currently do not offer this style post with a locking mailbox, however, you could customize it yourself and place a lock.
Question:	Can silica sand be used instead of play sand
Answer:	While I cannot answer why the description is written that way, I can confirm that I received a very sturdy PVC post and an aluminum box.
Question:	Is this a large or medium capacity mailbox
Answer:	Either way will work. I built up a 4x4 post using two 5/4 deck boards that I screwed to the post. That way, there was no play in the post. I cut the new plastic post to the correct height (the USPS has the correct height on their website), slipped it over the 4x4 post and secured it with two of the left over white screws. That way I avoided using stone, cement, setup time, etc.

Upon receipt, please make sure that you remove the mailbox top first before installing the doors as the tabs on the mailbox doors may not hold up when applying direct force.

Question:	is this a standard mailbox
Answer:	Yes, the Simplay3 Rustic Red Barn Plastic Post Mount Mailbox meets USPS standards for traditional and contemporary mailbox designs.
Question:	Can I paint this plastic? I would use for-plastic spray paint to highlight the details cast in the plastic
Answer:	Yes you could paint it , but I think it would be a bit of a challenge getting the paint to go into all the irregular surface.
Question:	can i put screws into it to attach to inside 4x4 post? I would do this to make it a bigger challenge to prevent chuckle-heads from stealing it
Answer:	screws might crack him But i had the same thought about theft, I used cement around base and superglued the mailbox on top, no way they can get the top off or lift him....lol (I also put a plaque with address letters in his hands)
Question:	Do you need to cement post into ground or is this heavy enough to just slide the post/mailbox in
Answer:	Heavy enough not to be cemented in, but securing it to wood post to deter theft would be a good idea. It is a very unique mail box, bird bath, or? adornment.
Question:	Does it slip onto the existing mailbox post or is it a post itself. My mailbox post is broken so i need to know if i need to buy one in addition
Answer:	It would easier to install the mailbox (which is not included with the dragon) if you have a post. Zippy is a hard resin casting. It could be used as a post, but you will have to figure out how to mount a bracket to hold the mailbox. Zippy easily slips over an existing 4x4 post. When I installed mine, I cut the post level with the top of zippy, installed a plank (3/4" x 4" x 10" long) by driving screws vertically through the plank into the post and attached the mailbox to the plank.
Question:	DOesnt the manf sell a stone colored matcing mail box
Answer:	No to the best of my knowledge they do not, I have checked their website a few times and being a fan of symmetry and matching I can see your point but Zippy is so cool you won't notice. Zippy was a hit from day one and for people who come to the house the first time it is the first thing they comment on - all positive. He is cemented in lest he walk away.

Answer:	The whole main body and door is metal, but I think the little red flag is plastic and the little hook that youi grab to open the door with is plastic.
